Born as Ryan James Doherty, (26th March 1995) Ryan O'Doherty is an actor, writer and multi media artist. He was born in London to parents Paul Doherty, a Major in the British Army with a career in anti - terrorism and Deborah Hornigold, former Detective Sergeant in the Metropolitan Police. He is the youngest of three siblings.
Ryan studied Philosophy, Ethics and Psychology at John Fisher in Purley, London and later he was sponsored by a local theatre company to train at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama
In 2021, Ryan appeared in the short film, Alissa Autschbach's, Little Fantasies, as "Rob". Little Fantasies went on to win awards at Manchester Film Festival and Rhode Island Film Festival. In 2022, Ryan was cast as "Hugo" in season 2 of Marvel's Disney series Loki (2021) (2023). Ryan is starring in the feature film, Sam Taylor-Johnson's, Back to Black (2024), as Chris Taylor. In 2023, he made his return to the stage, starring in the classical play, William Shakespeare's, Othello, as Cassio.
Beyond acting, Ryan has won awards for his own work. ANKYLOGLOSSIA" (2022) was Ryan's first short film which screened at LA Indie Film Festival, nominated Best Micro Film and best short. He is an advocate for charity, mental health and well-being campaigns such as Movember, Mind and Acting For Others.
