Cynthia Oliveira Souza is a second-generation Brazilian-American, raised in Framingham, Massachusetts, by her parents, Silvia and Gilvan Souza, who immigrated from Belo Horizonte and Itabirinha, Brazil. Cynthia has built a multifaceted career as a filmmaker, actress, and artist. After studying visual arts and animation, she transitioned into filmmaking, becoming an Assistant Camera in New York City's film industry. Known for her technical skill and creative insight, she has contributed to a range of independent features and shorts, both behind the camera and as a performer.

Deeply influenced by her Brazilian heritage, Cynthia is passionate about telling stories that explore identity, family, and the immigrant experience. She has worked on projects that highlight underrepresented voices and bring emotional, authentic narratives to the screen. Cynthia is also an advocate for mental health awareness, using her platform to uplift and support others through her own experiences.
