Indira Andrewin was born in Belize, Central America. She is from Gales Point, a remote maroon fishing-farming village with no electricity. Her father and uncle were the master drummers of Gales Point, hence Indira's first passion was dance. She left the village to pursue her education, but still loves returning to visit relatives.
While in high school, Indira participated in a 10-day Vipassana meditation retreat; became scuba certified and interned at a reef conservation school; started CocoLove, a natural body product company; and became the "Face of Fashion" for the first ever Belize Fashion Week. Indira is certified as a yoga instructor. a massage therapist, and a tour guide. In 2019, Indira traveled to Kenya, where she entered at Yoga Heart Kenya and studied at Africa Delight Tailoring School.
Indira's start in the movie industry came in 2018, when Mexican director Yulene Olaizola put out a coasting call for Tragic Jungle (2020). Indira was chosen for the lead role, Agnes. The film will premiere at the 2020 Venice Film Festival, where Indira has been nominated for the Best Actress Award. Tragic Jungle (2020) will also be featured at multiple film festivals globally.
