Almost everyone who saw Andor wants more of the Star Wars series, and these 10 science fiction shows come closest to replicating its magic. Andor is, simply put, one of the best Star Wars shows ever made. From Tony Gilroy's incredible writing to the way it ties into Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and the rest of the Star Wars movies, Andor is nothing short of a masterpiece. It's understandable, then, that fans of the show would want more as soon as possible, though the series has been on hiatus since Andor season 1 ended in 2022.
Though the April 22, 2025, release date of Andor season 2 is rapidly approaching, fans of the show may want to watch something similar to bide time until its release. Luckily, there are already 10 science fiction shows that feel extremely similar to Andor, and all of them have something distinct to offer fans of the Star Wars series.

There have been plenty of TV shows that astound viewers with an incredible first season, only for it to quickly decline in quality and make them feel like it should have just remained one great miniseries. This can often be the case when a show was initially planned as a one-off series but became so popular that it was artificially extended despite there being no real artistic drive to continue telling the characters story. This also commonly occurred when a TV show based on a book was forced to move past its source material in later seasons.
While many great shows were canceled after just one season, there were plenty of others that continued when they shouldnt have. There have also been some great anthology shows that got everything right in their debut season, yet when it was time to shake things up with a new cast of characters for...

We have discussed killers that received slasher movies, folklore turned cannibalism, and plenty of possession via person, home, or even object. What we haven’t done too much of is the good old-fashioned cult. While we took a deep dive into Jim Jones and the tragedy of Jonestown paired with the very well-done Sacrament, there are a ton of real-life cults and cult leaders that have been put to celluloid in an attempt to both cash in and tell a compelling story. I mean, I’m writing this right now on the couch while my wife watches a documentary about a cult on Netflix. True crime and religious cult stuff exist in popular forms like podcasts, shows, and of course movies too. Today we will look at two things that don’t get a lot of widespread attention. The 2007 horror movie Borderland (watch it Here) and what it is loosely...

Queens on the Run (Fuga de reinas) is a Mexican comedy directed by Jorge Macaya and starring Martha Higareda, Paola Nuñez, Alejandra Ambrosi, Valeria Vera.
A funny Mexican movie that, between Thelma and Louise and Sky Rojo, takes us to the adventures of four very nice women.
Very entertaining, it delves more in the funny and sympathetic tone than in the thriller.
Without being the movie of our lives, it achieves what it intends: to make us have a good time without disturbing us too much.
Simple.
Movie Review
Funny, good rhythm, excellent comic performances, exaggeratedly self-conscious: four great protagonists with whom to spend two hours and, unfortunately, forget about them after ten minutes.
With Queens on the Run we are clear about it after five minutes: it only aims to entertain, following usual plots and with a hint of parody to American cinema and the classic road movies with women characters.

Fox needs new successful drama series. Last season, the renewals of some of the network's highest-rated drama series, came down to the wire. The network doesn't own them, so there's less profit. Monarch, however, is fully owned by Fox Entertainment, so even if the ratings aren't the best, this show could have a financial advantage when renewal time comes around. The Roman Family's story will be incomplete on Fox.
According to Deadline, Monarch has been canceled after one season.
The news dropped just one day after the Monarch Season 1 finale, which was another shocking hour of the Country Music drama series.
Monarch launched in the fall, despite being initially set to premiere much earlier this year.
At the time of the delay, Fox noted that it wanted to give the show more time for promotion.
The series debuted with a football lerad-in back in early September with 4 million viewers and a 0.91 rating, with the premiere going on to reach much higher numbers with encores and delayed viewing factored in.
Unfortunately, the show failed to garner much traction in its regular Tuesdays at 9 p.m. time period, with the series overall averaging 1.9 million viewers and a 0.3 rating
The finale on Tuesday managed 1.6 million viewers and a 0.2 rating.

It’s more a public service than a spoiler to reveal that no matter how Fox is promoting the show, polarizing Oscar winner Susan Sarandon is truly not the primary star of the new musical soap opera Monarch.
Armed with this knowledge, everybody comes out ahead. Sarandon haters can tune into Monarch without fear of an excess of Susan Sarandon; Sarandon fans, the real winners here, can safely skip Monarch entirely.
Although it obviously and rather desperately wants to be Empire only with country music, Monarch is actually just protracted mediocre karaoke. Any karaoke aficionado can tell you that mediocre karaoke is the worst karaoke of all. Bad karaoke is drunken, trashy fun. Great karaoke is entertaining and musical. Mediocre karaoke? It’s that movie with Gwyneth Paltrow and Huey Lewis. (Duets. It’s called Duets.) And Monarch wishes it was even that good.

Shania Twain, Martina McBride, Little Big Town and Tanya Tucker are headed to Fox’s new country music soap, “Monarch”, it was announced Wednesday.
The country music stars will all make special guest appearances throughout the upcoming musical drama’s first season.
“Monarch”, which debuts Sunday, Sept. 11, follows the Roman family, headed by the talented but tough-as-nails “queen of country music” Dottie Cantrell Roman (Susan Sarandon) and her husband, “Texas Truthteller” Albie Roman (Trace Adkins).
Dottie and Albie have created a country music dynasty, but even though the Roman name is synonymous with authenticity, the very foundation of their success is a lie. When their reign as country royalty is put in jeopardy, heir to the crown Nicolette “Nicky” Roman (Anna Friel) will stop at nothing to protect her family’s legacy, while ensuring her own quest for stardom.

So…what is sci-fi? It’s not the easiest question to answer when “sci-fi elements” permeate so many of the biggest blockbusters: thought-provoking genre concepts flattened into one-size-fits-all franchise fodder that make countless titles “feel” and, on occasion, even look the same.
Yes, science fiction is rooted in profound origins, examining humanity’s deep-seated fear of itself and the intimidating possibility of worlds unknown. But the last two decades have seen a metaphoric rush on sci-fi storytelling that’s left the once niche subgenre a supersaturated movie market. On the one hand, that’s produced an onslaught of sci-fi(ish) titles that aren’t always up to snuff. But on the other, it’s prompted some of the best sci-fi films ever made. Masterworks like “Everything Everywhere All at Once” and “Nope” both arrived this year, and top our list at number five and number eight respectively.

Fox has found its solution for the “Monarch”-shaped hole left in its post-nfc Championship time-slot after moving the Susan Sarandon-led drama’s premiere to the fall.
Instead of debuting the new show after the Jan. 30 NFL game, which the broadcast network has delayed due to complications posed by producing it during the pandemic, Fox will air a fresh episode of Gordon Ramsay’s new cooking competition, “Next Level Chef,” immediately after it at 10:00-11:05 p.m. Et/7:00-8:05 p.m. Pt.
Per Fox, “In this special episode, Ramsay and his fellow mentors, Nyesha Arrington and Richard Blais, serve up a Sunday Brunch challenge, during which each remaining chef must create a next-level dish that incorporates both sweet and savory elements in just 45 minutes. Find out who will rise to the occasion and who ends up with egg on their face when one aspiring chef goes home.

Monarch, the country music family dynasty series starring Susan Sarandon, Trace Adkins, Anna Friel and Beth Ditto, has become the latest victim of Covid-19.
Fox has pushed back the launch of the series from January to fall, citing the rising spread of the virus. The series was set to premiere on Sunday January 30.
The network called the series, which is its first fully-owned drama, a “top priority” but was forced in to the move as a result of the impact of the pandemic on production.
Fox is hoping that by shifting the show to fall of its 2022/23 season, it will benefit from having the entire first season produced and more time to market the drama.

Exclusive: Fox’s Monarch is getting a new boss after former Designated Survivor showrunner Jon Feldman took over the reins of the musical drama series.
Feldman has been named showrunner of the country music series, replacing Michael Rauch.
The series, which stars Susan Sarandon, Trace Adkins and Anna Friel, is set to premiere on Sunday, January 30 at 10 p.m. Currently in production, Feldman will now oversee the series, which was created by Melissa London Hilfers.
Deadline understands that given the size of the show – it is a sprawling musical family epic – there were some speed bumps hit during filming and Fox, which owns the series as its first live-action series fully since the sale of 20th Television to Disney, felt it needed to pivot. We hear that production was briefly halted as Harmon Feldman took over the position.
Rauch, who created CBS drama series Instinct and was exec producer on Royal Pains,...

Where to Watch “Culture Shock”: Hulu
“Into the Dark,” which wrapped its second season earlier this year on Hulu, is an anthology series. By its nature, there’s a certain hit-or-miss quality, especially when the horror collection adds the constraint of tying each installment into a holiday. Some can get too cute by half, while others (like Nacho Vigalondo’s bonkers “Pooka!” or the most recent “Blood Moon”) strip away those ties to find the thematic strength underneath.
It’s what makes “Culture Shock,” the Gigi Saul Guerrero-directed episode of “Into the Dark,” shocking at times, and it also makes it difficult to talk around the specific turns it takes without giving away its ultimate goal. Still, effectively told in three parts, it balances all of those inputs, making it a standout among “Into the Dark” episodes and the greater Blumhouse body of work at large.
