Reacher, the Amazon Prime Video action hit, recently returned to streaming with a white-knuckle third season that continues the hero's journey based on Lee Child's book series. Season 3 is still ongoing with only a few episodes left, and so far, the show keeps hitting it out of the park with non-stop thrills and one of the best leading characters on modern television. Jack Reacher is very well-written, but it would not be the same without the contribution of actor Alan Ritchson, who seems tailor-made for the gig. But as it turns out, Ritchson wasn't always attached to the project. Someone else was supposed to play Reacher.
Ritchson, who's also known for his roles in shows like Smallville and Titans and movies like The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, was in the web series "Autocomplete Interview" for Wired where he answered a few questions fans asked about him. In the series,...

After a two-year hiatus, the much-awaited sophomore season of The Night Agentmade its premiere on January 23, 2025. The Night Agent's debut season made the show one of Netflix's most successful series, and its follow-up season has now followed the same path as its predecessor. Based on a novel by Matthew Quirk and created for screens by Shawn Ryan, Season 1 of the series saw a low-level FBI agent, Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso), answer a phone that is never supposed to ring and dive head-first into a conspiracy far above his pay grade.

The Night Agent has upped the ante for its second season. While some found the first season of the smash Netflix hit series to be somewhat corny, season two presents itself more like a 10-hour action-packed movie. The fight scenes are beautifully choreographed and in abundance, right from the first 10 minutes of the season.
With Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso) now an official Night Action agent working in the field in clandestine operations, it’s no surprise that he’s at the center of most of the best fight scenes of this season. But there are other fight scenes that are just as enthralling that don’t involve him, or at least not initially.

Plot: Based on the novel by Matthew Quirk, The Night Agent is a sophisticated, character-based, action-thriller centering on a low level FBI Agent , Peter Sutherland, whose efforts to save The President in Season 1 earn him an opportunity to become a Night Agent in Season 2. But working in the secretive organization of Night Action will propel Peter into a world where danger is everywhere and trust is in short supply.

This post contains spoilers from The Night Agent season 2 episode 1 from this point forward.
In The Night Agent season 2 episode 1, "Call Tracking," we're thrown right into Peter's new mission in Bangkok with his partner Alice, played by the always excellent Brittany Snow. The very first scene finds them finishing what looks like a date, and there are sparks! However, they're faking the "honeymooners act" to track a suspect.
Peter and Alice eventually go comms on and split up to follow their suspect, Warren (Teddy Sears) and the man he briefly met up with (Berto Colon). Walking throughout the city at night, Peter catches Warren make a drop and spots others picking up the thumb drive. There's another suspicious man (Louis Herthum) across the street from Peter.
Unfortunately for Peter, his enemies were waiting for him at the end of the alley with gunfire. Somehow, both he and Alice had their covers blown,...

Netflix will open up the next chapter for The Night Agent when Season 2 arrives this Thursday, Jan. 23 — nearly two years after the hit thriller dropped Season 1.

The Night Agent (2023), based on the novel written by Mathew Quirk, is one of the most popular and highly watched Netflix shows of 2023. Since it was created on a single book, thus it was destined for a sole show. But considering its huge viewer admiration, its creators decided to give it two more seasons with the hopes of being equally treasured.
Just like the first season, season 2 is also expected to be a similar action-packed thriller linked to the original plot. However, by the looks of the trailer, it seems like the show is going “all international” this time, as scenes from Bangkok can also be viewed, unlike the “only DC” setup from the previous season.
But now, finally, after one and a half years from the release of the first season, the wait is over for its global fans as the show is expected to debut on the 23rd of January.

NBC's new medical drama Brilliant Minds is a hit with fans as it explores unique medical cases in a manner most medical dramas don't. At the show's center is Dr. Oliver Wolf (Zachary Quinto), a talented neurologist working at Bronx General to help patients with conditions that no one has yet figured out. Throughout the first season, viewers have witnessed Dr. Wolf and Dr. Nichols' (Teddy Sears) relationship morph from competing colleagues to lovers, and the pairing has won viewers over. Series creator, writer, and executive producer Michael Grassi told TV Fanatic that Quinto and Sears were to thank for their "unique chemistry." "When they walk onto the set and block a scene or rehearse it, the magic starts at that moment. It begins with how they approach their characters, find conflict, and find little moments between each other," he added. However, Grassi had a secret sauce that was guaranteed to hook viewers,...

Brilliant Minds has a near-perfect argument for why it should be renewed for season 2. The freshman medical drama stands out because of its focus on neurological cases and its commitment to diversity. Unlike most medical shows, the series is set in an overcrowded hospital in a poor area and features several neurodivergent characters as well as characters of different races and sexual orientations. The first season of Brilliant Minds only had 13 episodes and ended on January 6, 2025, with a two-hour finale.
Although NBC has not made a decision yet about Brilliant Minds season 2, the season finale ended with several cliffhangers, most notably when Wolf (Zachary Quinto) blew off his date with Nichols (Teddy Sears) to see his long-absent father, Noah (Mandy Patinkin) at a diner, where Noah told him he had a mysterious illness he wanted Wolf to look into. It would be disappointing if Brilliant Minds is canceled without resolving this intriguing new storyline.

Warning! Spoilers ahead for Brilliant Minds season 1, episodes 12 and 13 (the season finale)
There are several questions that need answers after the Brilliant Minds season 1 finale. The medical drama ended with a two-part finale that aired on January 6, 2025, and revolves around the crisis at Ericka's (Ashleigh La Thrope) building. This seemingly pointless Brilliant Minds storyline begins with the interns realizing that the collapsing building is the one Ericka lives in. Nichols (Teddy Sears) and Wolf (Zachary Quinto) cross paths with an unnamed doctor (Mandy Patinkin) while assisting in the rescue effort, but Wolf later learns that the man is his supposedly dead father, Noah.
After Ericka is rescued, she deals with Ptsd and survivors' guilt while Wolf has a new case — a pastor whose "visions from God" are really signs of advanced brain cancer — but is distracted by his anger at his parents for letting him think Noah was dead for the past 30 years,...

Warning! Spoilers ahead for Brilliant Minds season 1, episodes 12 and 13 (the season finale).Brilliant Minds' season 1 finale may have backed NBC into a corner when it comes to making a renewal decision. Although the finale ends with several significant cliffhangers, NBC hasn't decided whether Brilliant Minds season 2 will happen. The neurology-focused medical drama concluded its first season with a two-hour finale that features a shocking twist. After spending the first hour dealing with the building collapse, the series reveals that a seemingly random doctor (Mandy Patinkin) who was helping treat collapse victims is actually Noah Wolf — Oliver's (Zachary Quinto) supposedly dead father.
During the second half of the finale, Oliver wants to focus on the case of a pastor who is having strange hallucinations and perception issues, such as believing her husband is a hat on a rack. However, his world is turned upside down when he learns his father is alive.

Following Brilliant Minds episode 13, the NBC TV show's first season has come to an end, meaning there won't be any more new episodes (for now). The medical drama series, created by Michael Grassi, is partly based on two of neurologist Oliver Sacks' nonfiction books — The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat and An Anthropologist on Mars. Both novels chronicle real-life medical cases, which inspired Grassi to create Brilliant Minds.
Brilliant Minds stars Zachary Quinto as Dr. Oliver Wolf, an attending neurologist at Bronx General in New York. Dr. Wolf is quite gifted, eccentric, and defined by his unique approach to his work (which isn't too popular among some of his peers). The series begins with Quinto's character accepting a new job at Bronx General, where he leads a team of interns and takes on unusual and challenging psychological cases. Unfortunately, though, Brilliant Minds season 1 is limited to 13 episodes.

Oliver (Zachary Quinto) and Josh (Teddy Sears) make breakfast together, and Josh surprises Oliver with an invitation to a black-tie gala. Oliver isn’t enthusiastic about a formal event but accepts since Josh is receiving an award.
Josh admits he’s falling for Oliver. Oliver smiles but doesn’t reply.
Oliver’s dad, Noah (Mandy Patinkin), is still hanging out at Muriel’s place and insists he’s taking his meds and “in a good place.” Muriel (Donna Murphy) wonders what they’ll tell Oliver, concerned this news will disrupt his happiness. She’d prefer Noah just leave rather than take Oliver’s happiness away from him.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Brilliant Minds Season 1 Episodes 12 “The Doctor Whose World Collapsed” and 13 “The Man Who Can’t See Faces.”] Brilliant Minds ends its first season with two episodes that are filled with action, heart, shocks, and so much more – and it leaves us needing the show to be renewed! In Episode 12, Oliver (Zachary Quinto) and his boyfriend, Josh (Teddy Sears), head to the scene of the building collapse to help patients and find the intern who lived there, Ericka (Ashleigh Lathrop). Ericka survives, though not everyone in the elevator with her is so lucky (the woman who insists she go first to help her grandfather is still inside when it falls), and the finale sees her still dealing with the aftermath of that. Meanwhile, a doctor (Mandy Patinkin) helps out on the scene, and it’s not until the end of the penultimate ...

Note: The following story contains spoilers from “Brilliant Minds” Season 1, Episode 13.
NBC’s “Brilliant Minds” wrapped up its first season with a shocking twist that leads Zachary Quinto’s Dr. Oliver Wolf to “question everything.”
After learning how his dad’s passing traumatized Oliver during his adolescence, the penultimate episode of “Brilliant Minds” revealed that Oliver’s dad, Noah (played by Mandy Patinkin) was, in fact, alive and well. In a dramatic confrontation between Oliver, Noah and Muriel (Donna Murphy), Oliver learns not only that his dad has been alive, but that his mom has known, and lied to him.
“For Wolf, when he learns this huge secret, I think he starts to question everything in his life,” showrunner Michael Grassi told TheWrap. “Everything that he believed to be true is no longer true, and the thing that defined him, which was his dad, and is not what he believed it to be.

That was some cliffhanger, and hopefully, the showrunners are confident that NBC will renew it for another season because this can’t be the end.
Before that, let’s discuss what happened in Brilliant Minds Season 1 Episode 12 and how the apartment collapsed, changing many characters’ lives.
This was the most action-packed and high-stakes case yet, and it demonstrated the importance of thinking fast and having people you can count on.
(Rafy/NBC) Josh and Oliver Rush to Save an Injured Woman
Waiting several weeks after Brilliant Minds Season 1 Episode 11’s cliffhanger was torturous. While we suspected they’d save Ericka, with the apartment collapsing, there would be other victims.
That accident kept us on the edge of our seats. There was a woman named Jenna trapped under the rubble with an open compressed fracture.
(Rafy/NBC)
While the EMTs called for Josh, I loved how Oliver insisted on accompanying him to the accident site.

NBC’s Brilliant Minds season one winter finale left off with a cliffhanger showing Ericka’s apartment building collapsing. Episode 12 plunges into the aftermath of the collapse, with first responders looking for survivors amid the rubble.
200 people, including Ericka, live in the apartment complex that has partially collapsed.
Dr. Oliver Wolf (Zachary Quinto) warns the interns that a flood of traumatized survivors is coming their way. And although it’s against his normal teachings, they need to detach themselves from what’s happening and treat the injured.
The emergency room is quickly jam-packed with patients-some with minor injuries, some critical, and all needing assessment.
Back at the scene, paramedic Katie Rodriguez (from episode 10) is among the first responders helping the injured. A severely injured woman has a skull fracture, as diagnosed by a doctor (Mandy Patinkin...

The latest trailer for The Night Agent season 2 shows that the series will have a similar storyline to season 1, but with a significant difference. The Night Agent stars Gabriel Basso as Peter Sutherland, an FBI agent who is pulled into a conspiracy after saving Rose Larkin, a young woman whose life is in danger after witnessing the murder of her aunt and uncle. With The Night Agent season 1 being one of Netflix's most-watched shows, it's no wonder that its second season has been highly anticipated.
There have been several theories about The Night Agent season 2, but there's still an air of mystery regarding the sophomore season, seeing as Netfflix has kept important details about the show's plot a secret. However, The Night Agent season 2's latest trailer now offers a few clues about what Peter will be up to now that he is officially part of the Night Action.

Ring ring.
Night Agent is returning with season two and in the new trailer (below) that dropped on Christmas, Gabriel Basso‘s Peter Sutherland is on the run.
The Sony Pictures TV and Shawn Ryan conspiracy series that was a mega-hit for Netflix in 2023 returns after almost two years with season two on Jan. 23, 2025. Based on the novel by Matthew Quirk, The Night Agent‘s first season centered on Peter as a low-level FBI agent answering overnight calls for the secretive White House organization called Night Action. His heroic efforts (he saved the president) earned him a promotion to Night Agent by the end of the season. But, as the trailer shows, a mission outside of Washington, D.C. now puts a target on his back once again.

The Brilliant Minds season 1 midseason finale did not disappoint. It brought us unique medical conditions and plenty of drama.

Most importantly, we got some closure for Pierce’s storyline.

Caution: This post contains Spoilers for Brilliant Minds season 1, episode 11
The episode itself was nicely split across three storylines. We got to see the interns at work as they decided to race each other to discharging their patients, and we got to see Wolf and Nichols figure out how to deal with their relationship when their medical opinions differ. Most importantly, we got some closure for Pierce’s storyline.

NBC’s Brilliant Minds episode 10 ended with Dr. Carol Pierce (Tamberla Perry) discovering Alison unconscious in her apartment. Episode 11, “The Other Woman,” opens with Alison rushed to the hospital, still unconscious and vomiting. Dr. Oliver Wolf (Zachary Quinto) glances knowingly at Carol, realizing the gravity of the situation.
Privately, Carol can’t believe Alison might be her one patient to die by suicide. She was only treating her to get more details on Morris’ infidelity and confesses she both envied and hated her. Oliver insists Carol isn’t at fault; Alison is a sick woman. Carol knows this is a huge ethical lapse, but Oliver thinks they should concentrate on keeping Alison alive for now.

During the previous episode, Pierce warned Wolf about dating someone he worked with. It looks like that will come up in Brilliant Minds season 1, episode 11, as Wolf and Nichols disagree with how to deal with a patient.
While the episode is titled “The Other Woman,” much of the promotional material focuses on Wolf and Nichols. They work with a patient who wants to go a specific route, but the two disagree on the right method of treatment. Could this have a knock-on effect on their relationship? Things are still early days for the two of them.

NBC's Brilliant Minds premiered on September 23 with new episodes airing weekly on Mondays. The show is inspired by real-life physician, Oliver Sacks, and sees Zachary Quinto play a neurologist who has a condition called prosopagnosia, also known as facial blindness. After being fired from his previous job, Oliver Wolf takes his long-time friend up on her offer to work at Bronx General Hospital.
Carol entrusts Dr. Wolf with a group of young interns, who are caught off guard by his unconventional approach to care. However, despite Oliver's initial resistance to being a teacher, Quinto feels that everyone has adapted to the new dynamic. The star explains that their different perspectives allow him to approach cases from all angles, which benefits the patient in the long run. In addition to Quinto, Tamberla Perry, Ashleigh Lathrop, Alex MacNicoll, Aury Krebs, Spence Moore II, Teddy Sears, and Donna Murphy make up the main cast.

Warning: this article contains spoilers for Brilliant Minds season 1, episode 10.Brilliant Minds is hindering Ericka, its best intern, by caging her in a cliché love triangle storyline. The NBC hit led by Zachary Quinto has gotten a lot right across its first ten episodes, but the direction the show is taking for the interns’ relationship dynamics is anything but original. Instead of focusing on the interns as individuals, the wonderful cast of characters in Brilliant Minds has been divided into potential couples. Since the pilot, interesting characters like Ericka Kinney (Ashleigh Lathrop), Van Markus (Alex MacNicoll), and Jacob Nash (Spence Moore II) have been reduced to a derivative love triangle.
Although Brilliant Minds season 2 has yet to be confirmed, what the show is doing to Ericka’s character will have dire consequences for future storylines if the unique medical drama is renewed. The self-proclaimed “real quarterback” of Dr. Wolf’s interns,...
