NBC’s “Brilliant Minds” wrapped up its first season with a shocking twist that leads Zachary Quinto’s Dr. Oliver Wolf to “question everything.”

After learning how his dad’s passing traumatized Oliver during his adolescence, the penultimate episode of “Brilliant Minds” revealed that Oliver’s dad, Noah (played by Mandy Patinkin) was, in fact, alive and well. In a dramatic confrontation between Oliver, Noah and Muriel (Donna Murphy), Oliver learns not only that his dad has been alive, but that his mom has known, and lied to him.

“For Wolf, when he learns this huge secret, I think he starts to question everything in his life,” showrunner Michael Grassi told TheWrap. “Everything that he believed to be true is no longer true, and the thing that defined him, which was his dad, and is not what he believed it to be.

Santa watch out because Gabriel Basso is delivering his Christmas gifts in style this year. The star of “The Night Agent” hopped out of the Netflix blimp Christmas morning to deliver the trailer for the second season of his drama series.

The actor made a surprise appearance during the Ravens vs. Texans game, which streamed on Netflix Christmas Day. Basso is no stranger to skydiving, though. In a behind the scenes video with Netflix, the star revealed that doing the stunt was “an easy agreement” on his end.

Netflix just dropped a surprise Christmas present for The Night Agent fans. The series, which returns for its second season next month, has just released the full trailer for Season 2 and it looks like it will be packed with just as much action and intrigue as the first season. The series centers on Peter Sutherland, played by Gabriel Basso, an FBI agent stuck in a White House basement who seizes a chance to become a Night Agent after stepping up to protect the President. Joining Basso in the cast are Luciane Buchanan as Rose Larkin, Eve Harlow as Ellen, and Sarah Desjardins as Maddie Redfield, among others. Season 2 will introduce a fresh roster of talent, including Amanda Warren, Arienne Mandi, Louis Herthum, Berto Colon, Brittany Snow, and Teddy Sears.

The Sony Pictures TV and Shawn Ryan conspiracy series that was a mega-hit for Netflix in 2023 returns after almost two years with season two on Jan. 23, 2025. Based on the novel by Matthew Quirk, The Night Agent‘s first season centered on Peter as a low-level FBI agent answering overnight calls for the secretive White House organization called Night Action. His heroic efforts (he saved the president) earned him a promotion to Night Agent by the end of the season. But, as the trailer shows, a mission outside of Washington, D.C. now puts a target on his back once again.

The season one finale of NBC’s Brilliant Minds will air earlier than planned. The season one wrap-up will now air as a special event with back-to-back episodes on Monday, Jan. 6 at 9 and 10 pm Et/Pt, NBC announced today. The original season finale date was a week later on Jan. 13.

The fall finale of NBC's Brilliant Minds aired December 9, putting Dr. Carol Pierce front and center. "The Other Woman" provides deeper insight into her early days as a mother and sees Carol come to terms with Morris' affair after she helps save Alison's life. Although the couple initially tried finding a way around their issues, Carol decides she wants a divorce. The doctor leaves her husband, telling Morris, "I love you, but I can't forgive you."

The show has been leading up to their split, but Brilliant Minds ensured fans wouldn't go into the holidays without a final shocker. Ericka steps into the elevator of her apartment building right before it partially collapses. Fans will have to wait until the new year to find out the intern's fate, as "The Doctor Whose World Collapsed," doesn't air until Monday, January 6 at 10 p.

It’s bad news for Brilliant Minds fans. There are no more new episodes in 2024. As you’ll have noticed, there wasn’t a new episode on last night, Monday, Dec. 16. The last episode was the previous week.

This is normal for this time of year, and it’s nothing to worry about just yet. There is some good news for those ready to see what happens in the wake of Ericka’s building collapsing.

NBC’s Brilliant Minds episode 10 ended with Dr. Carol Pierce (Tamberla Perry) discovering Alison unconscious in her apartment. Episode 11, “The Other Woman,” opens with Alison rushed to the hospital, still unconscious and vomiting. Dr. Oliver Wolf (Zachary Quinto) glances knowingly at Carol, realizing the gravity of the situation.

Privately, Carol can’t believe Alison might be her one patient to die by suicide. She was only treating her to get more details on Morris’ infidelity and confesses she both envied and hated her. Oliver insists Carol isn’t at fault; Alison is a sick woman. Carol knows this is a huge ethical lapse, but Oliver thinks they should concentrate on keeping Alison alive for now.

They work with a patient who wants to go a specific route, but the two disagree on the right method of treatment. Could this have a knock-on effect on their relationship? Carol entrusts Dr. Wolf with a group of young interns, who are caught off guard by his unconventional approach to care. However, despite Oliver's initial resistance to being a teacher, Quinto feels that everyone has adapted to the new dynamic. The star explains that their different perspectives allow him to approach cases from all angles, which benefits the patient in the long run.
