Happy’s Place is one of the current hits on NBC right now, and that’s not surprising with Reba McEntire in the lead. Pablo Castelblanco stars as Steve in the series, and we chatted with him about the series and working with some amazing actresses in Hollywood.
Steve is the lovable man who struggles with Ocd. This is one of those conditions that is often used for comedic relief only, but Happy’s Place does something different. As someone who also has Ocd, it was such a relief to see it being touched on in an empathetic way. I chatted with Castleblanco about that, along with just how salty I still am about the Alaska Daily cancellation.

Rich will play Maverick, described as “a local tattoo artist that is very good at his job … as long as he’s using his right hand. Turns out Maverick has had a stroke and likes to tease new clients about which hand he’s going to use when he starts doing their tattoos.”
Machado will appear as Maritza, the mother of Isabella (Belissa Escobedo). Maritza is said to be “a self-made woman who put herself through law school as a single mom. She started a wildly successful law practice and does not suffer fools.”

Netflix has revealed a new, mature-rated trailer for its American Primeval series, a Western premiering on January 9, 2025. All six one-hour episodes will be available at launch.
The series comes from director/executive producer Pete Berg (Friday Night Lights), writer/creator/executive producer Mark L. Smith (The Revenant), and executive producers Eric Newman (Griselda) and Alex Gayner.
This is America…1857. Up is down, pain is everywhere, and innocence and tranquility are losing the battle to hatred and fear. Peace is the shrinking minority, and very few possess grace — even fewer know compassion.
There is no safe haven in these brutal lands; one goal matters: survival. American Primeval is a fictionalized dramatization and examination of the violent collision of culture, religion, and community as men and women fight and die to keep or control this land.

Movies like Sicario offer explosive action, thought-provoking political intrigue, and awards-pedigree acting talent. Released in 2015, Sicario is a slow-burning thriller about the nuances of drug cartel operations and the border between the U.S. and Mexico. Directed by Denis Villeneuve, the movie focuses on three perspectives: an FBI agent, played by Emily Blunt; a secretive government agent, played by Josh Brolin; and an even shadowier assassin, played by Benicio del Toro. The film was a critical and commercial success, and it got a sequel three years later, Sicario: Day of the Soldado.
Only the best action-thriller movies remain comparable to Sicario, with its stunning cinematography and deeply ugly subject matter. However, many fan-favorite films by director Denis Villeneuve and other acclaimed filmmakers hit the same spots. Several are also available for subscribers on major streaming platforms or even for free, making it easy to find movies like Sicario for fans...
