Exclusive: Sundance documentary Never Look Away, the directorial debut of actress Lucy Lawless (Xena: Warrior Princess), has been sold by XYZ to Greenwich Entertainment for all rights in North America, and to Kaleidoscope for all rights in UK.
Both distributors have committed to theatrical releases in the territories. Kaleidoscope will also take over rest of world sales. The film is set to have additional screenings at SXSW this weekend.
The film puts a spotlight on the late, swashbuckling CNN combat camerawoman, Margaret Moth, who risked it all to put the viewer inside the conflict. When a fateful injury got in the way of her appetite for danger and adrenaline, she had a decision to make about her career and survival.
Pic was produced by Matthew Metcalfe of Gfc Films, Tom Blackwell and Lawless, and was written by Metcalfe, Blackwell, Lawless and Whetham Allpress. XYZ Films is executive-producing.

This NOS4A2 review contains spoilers.
NOS4A2 Season 2 Episode 10
For all the flack Game of Thrones gets for the way it ended, one of the things that the show always did that I appreciated was they didn’t save the big crazy finale for the last episode of the season. The ninth episode of the season always had the big shocking moments, and the tenth episode explored more of the after-effects of the big event and set the pace for the next season. “Bats” doesn’t quite do the same thing, but considering the bulk of the episode of NOS4A2 is more concerned with what happens after the escape from Christmasland and the aftermath of Charlie Manx, it’s pretty close.
It’s pretty clear early on in “Bats” that Charlie Manx isn’t doing so good. Every explosion in his Inscape racks his physical body with pain, every smashed window...

The Billy Elliot star is terrific as the cocky, swaggering leader of a crack Sas team in an atmospheric real-life drama that’s short on suspense
Toa Fraser’s real-life hostage thriller about the 1980 siege of the Iranian embassy in London (it skipped a cinema release and arrives on Netflix on 3 November) is thoughtful, well-made, with a couple of excellent performances – and just a bit dull. Told with not quite enough suspense, its pin stays firmly in the grenade as six armed men storm the embassy in Kensington, taking 26 hostages and demanding the release of prisoners in southern Iran.

6 Days is a new feature film chronicling the events that took place during the notorious Iranian Embassy siege in London, 1980, when the whole country stopped still and looked on as a tense standoff played out between the British security forces and armed militants, culminating in a dramatic and brutal assault. Directed by Toa Fraser, the film was shot on location in London’s Knightsbridge. The screenplay was written by acclaimed screenwriter Glenn Standring after extensive research and interviews with various individuals who played a key part in the days leading up to, during, and after the Embassy siege.
The film largely follows the perspective of three people who played a vital part in the events at the time – Hostage negotiator Max Vernon (Mark Strong), the man responsible for communicating with the terrorists inside the building; News Reporter Kate Adie (Abbie Cornish), who was covering the events for the BBC and...

Directed by Toa Fraser (Dean Spanley, Giselle), who brings a breathtakingly cinematic sensibility and narrative construction to the world of extreme sports, The Free Man is as beautiful a film as it is a thrilling one. Shot in New Zealand and France, the film offers a rare insight into the story...

In 1980, the Iranian Embassy in London was the victim of a terrorist attack. There was a standoff that lasted six days until a group of Sas soldiers breached the embassy to end the attack. This film, directed by Toa Fraser and starring Jaime Bell and Mark Strong, follows the events of that attack and the six days leading up to its liberation from terrorists.
The film also stars Abbie Cornish, Emun Elliott, Nicholas Boulton, Martin Shaw, and Tim Downie. It was shot in London and so far it looks very fairly thrilling. The trailer gives us a good look at what we can expect. Although I'm not a huge war and terrorist thwarting movie fan, the politics behind what happens before an attack goes down is always so interesting to me. Check the trailer out below.

In 1980, there was a siege on the Iranian Embassy in London, which led to a tense standoff between the Sas and the six gunmen inside. Nearly 40 years later, the story will hit the big screen with 6 Days, an action thriller from The Dead Lands director Toa Fraser. Ahead of a U.K. release this summer, the first trailer has now arrived.
Starring Jamie Bell (Snowpiercer) and Mark Strong, and penned by Glenn Standring (The Dead Lands), 6 Days was shot on location in Princess Gate, London for maximum authenticity. Whether this commitment to detail and accuracy will lend to a thriller worth your time is set to be seen, but it seems they’ve gotten off on the right foot. See the trailer below, along with a poster, synopsis, and set of images, with a tip of the hat to HeyUGuys.

At one point, Jamie Bell‘s name was being tossed around as a potential contender for 007, and while “6 Days” isn’t exactly a spy movie, it does give the actor a chance to show his skills in a story about terrorists threatening innocent British lives.
Co-starring Mark Strong and Abbie Cornish, and direced by Toa Fraser, the film tells the true story of the standoff inside the Iranian Embassy in Princes Gate, London in 1980.

While Toa Fraser's The Dead Lands was undoubtedly the first introduction to the traditional martial arts of the Maori people it would appear that it won't be the last. Not by a long shot. Maori Television is currently gearing up for the premiere of their new TV series Kairakau and, like The Dead Lands, it tells a tale set in pre-colonial New Zealand driven by tribal conflict and featuring rather a lot of traditional martial arts if the freshly released trailer is any indicator. Production values are gorgeous and the quality on all levels appears to be top notch on this one, check it out below!...

Could acoustic lightening strike twice? 2006 was a mythical, magical year for John Carney when Once took the Sundance Film Festival and film world by storm. With buffer items Zonad (2009) and The Rafters (2012) only whetting our appetite for another Carney gem, 2013’s surprise box office indie hit Begin Again (with Keira Knightley, Mark Ruffalo and Adam Levine) sort of got us back in the saddle. We now come full circle back to another micro film with potentially lots of heart. Considered a cousin to Once, Carney enlists U2’s Bono and The Edge for the this when Irish eyes are smiling coming-of-ager romance. Currently in the midst of a certain restructuring, the Weinsteins picked up Sing Street in at the Cannes Film Fest in 2014 and it was kept off the 2015 slate. Could this semi-biographical tale be tuned up as a crowd-pleasing Park City item?

When the award-winning Manakamana landed on the film festival circuit (the Golden Leopard win in Locarno was the first of many worthy acknowledgments), it not only further demonstrated the excellence out of the Sensory Ethnography Lab and made a name for the filmmaker tandem with an anthropological-like curiosity, but one refreshing takeaway was that it reminded us that there are novel approaches in nonfiction filmmaking with huge, emotionally giddy payoffs. For his next project, docu-helmer Pacho Velez takes a President whose legacy mysteriously continues to enflame and shape current politico debate. Spliced into three parts and presented as a series of shorts (The Reagan Shorts) at the Rotterdam Film Fest this past January, The Reagan Years is certainly in getting ready phase as it was invited to the July set Sundance Institute Music and Sound Design Lab. He's teamed up again with his Dead Lands writer Glenn Standring, with several former Sas members helping bring realism to...

Hongi (James Rolleston) – a Māori chieftain’s teenage son – must avenge his father’s murder in order to bring peace and honour to the souls of his loved ones after his tribe is slaughtered through an act of treachery. Vastly outnumbered by a band of villains, led by Wirepa (Te Kohe Tuhaka), Hongi’s only hope is to pass through the feared and forbidden Dead Lands and forge an uneasy alliance with the mysterious “Warrior” (Lawrence Makoare), a ruthless fighter who has ruled the area for years.
I actually found The Dead Lands really entertaining. Not only is the film filled to the brim with crazy Māori fight sequences which look brutal and realistic,...

Action adventure The Dead Lands is in UK cinemas this weekend. Director Toa Fraser talks about its making and how James Cameron’s a fan...
A taut and intense action adventure, The Dead Lands is a superb showcase for director Toa Fraser. It provides an insight into a culture not often explored on screen - set in pre-colonial New Zealand, the film’s dialogue is entirely in the Maori language - while delivering the kind of pared-back revenge story you might expect from a western or a samurai film.
In other words, The Dead Lands is both unique to its country and universal; its historical setting and subtitles might suggest something for the arthouse crowd, but its bruising fight scenes will please the action crowd, too. What’s more, James Cameron is officially a fan.
