Many different stories have come out of WWII with tales of personal sacrifice, courage, and hardships. The extensive large-scale conflict provided many stories and inspired every form of media to explore it. The war defined the world for decades and changed everything about it. Many of the film depictions followed cases of heroism within many branches in the military.

One integral group of soldiers for every single fighting country in WWII were the pilots in the sky. They risked it all and maneuvered within the sky among numerous risks to help give their fighting side the upper hand. Many films have been made to emulate the strength, courage, and challenges that pilots had to face in the skies as they fought for their country.

Shadow in the Cloud Turns a WWII Fighter Plane Into a Horror Setting Shadow in the Cloud (2020)

Shadow in the Cloud is a fictional WWII movie...

Shadow in the Cloud is an action-horror hybrid that combines a twisty plot and social commentary with creature-feature elements and a World War II adventure. It plays like a feature-length The Twilight Zone episode but with more aerial combat and monster-punching. It focuses on Chlo Grace Moretz as Flight Officer Maude Garrett, who all but single-handedly saves the day during the rip-roaring, action-packed climax.

Directed by Roseanne Liang from a script she wrote with Max Landis, Shadow in the Cloud begins in 1943, at an Allied airbase in Auckland, New Zealand. There, Maude boards a B-17 bomber called "The Fool's Errand," along with a package she tells the crew contains confidential material. Despite his suspicions, the aircraft's captain, John Reeves (Callan Mulvey), allows her to stay onboard but orders her to sit in the ball turret during takeoff. Maude settles into the turret after handing her package to the only friendly crewman,...

Exclusive: Joe Witkowski (The Wilds)and Doralynn Mui (Riverdale) will join the drama of Peacock’s One Of Us Is Lying, taking on major recurring roles for the YA series’ second season. They will appear opposite stars Marianly Tejada, Cooper van Grootel, Annalisa Cochrane, Chibuikem Uche, Jessica McLeod and Melissa Collazo.

Based on Karen M. McManus’s best-seller, One Of Us Is Lying is the story of what happens when five high schoolers walk into detention and only four make it out alive. Everyone is a suspect and everyone has something to hide.

Witkowski will play will play brother of Jake (Barrett Carnahan) who has come back to Bayview to find out the truth about what happened to his little brother. He’s even more handsome and charming than his brother, and he might be more dangerous too.

Mui will play Fiona, a new girl at Bayview who causes surprising complications for Nate and Bronwyn.

The specialty box office and streaming space is ringing in 2021 with a peppering of new titles starting with Shadow in the Cloud starring Chloë Grace Moretz, which opens in select theaters and drops on VOD and digital starting January 1, 2021.

Directed by Roseanne Liang who co-wrote the script with Max Landis, Shadow in the Cloud is part war pic, part horror and part women empowerment. Set in World War II, the film follows Captain Maude Garrett (Moretz) who joins an all-male crew of a B-17 bomber with a top-secret package. Caught off guard by the presence of a woman on a military flight, the crew tests Maude’s every move. Just as her quick wit is winning them over, strange happenings and holes in her backstory incite paranoia surrounding her true mission. On top of all of this, there’s something lurking in the shadows — something sinister is tearing at the heart of the plane.

We have a new trailer for Shadow in the Cloud. Vertical Entertainment and Redbox Entertainment have partnered to release the upcoming World War II sci-fi/thriller, which stars Chloe Grace Moretz in the leading role. It is the latest from filmmaker Roseanne Liang, representing her second feature directorial effort following 2011's My Wedding and Other Secrets. As we can see, Moretz will have her hands full as she's not only trying to contend with the mission at hand, but a monster is lurking in the midst that is going to complicate matters quite a bit.

The trailer kicks off with a synthy soundtrack as Chole Grace Moretz's character Maude boards a bomber plane filled with an all-male crew. The men are suspicious of having a woman on board, not to mention that the nature of her mission puts them off guard. Things go from tense to terrifying when a monster...

The most batshit crazy movie we saw last year? Filmmaker Roseanne Liang’s “Shadow In The Cloud” WWII actioner starring Chloë Grace Moretz that’s a mishmash blend of so many different and disparate movies. “Shadow In The Clouds” borrows from horror, WWII, aviation movies, action, claustrophobic thriller, and even a little bit of espionage.

It takes place almost entirely on that plane, and it's awesome. It is a slimline Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) this year but there are still plenty of acquisition titles on offer for distributors looking to fill 2021 and 2022 slots.
