The CW’s Batwoman, despite having to end its season earlier than planned, served up some major twists (and one wild reveal) with its freshman finale.
In the name of neutralizing a hometown football hero who had been victimized by falsified brain scans and become a machetes-swinging brute immune to pain, Batwoman suggested to Commander Kane that they combined forces. But after doing so, as the lights popped back on at a blacked-out football stadium, Batwoman realized that the Crows had surrounded her. And then they attempted to riddle her with bullets, though the Scarlet Knight managed to grapple away...

Like The Flash, Batwoman is having its season finale earlier than originally planned. The Covid-19 pandemic caused production to shut down on March 12th, meaning the producers have had to repurpose episode 20, “O, Mouse” into a big finale. We’ll find out tomorrow whether this tactic works when The Flash wraps up, with Batwoman following soon after on May 17th.
Whatever the case, while it might not have been intended as a finale, this new promo teases an episode that’s not short on excitement. Fans seem to have concluded that Mouse is set to die in the upcoming outing, though with Batwoman surrounded and at gunpoint in a fully-lit sports stadium, things aren’t going great for her, either. But probably the most intriguing thing about the finale is a tease from the synopsis, which you can see below.

As we’re approaching Christmas, that means the Arrowverse shows are due to take a month’s break before returning in the new year. This time around, the midseason finales are being knocked forward a week, too, as the actual final installments of the series before the holidays will be given over to the big “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover. So, Batwoman‘s midseason finale, for example, will be with us in just a couple of weeks.
Episode 1×08 is titled “A Mad Tea-Party” and, as you’d expect, will focus on the dynamic between Kate Kane and her nemesis/long-lost sister Alice, who has her most dangerous scheme ever up her sleeves. At least, that’s going by this synopsis, which also touches on some surprises in the vigilante’s personal life as well.

Batwoman answers the questions we, and Kate, have been asking this whole (well four episodes) season…where did Beth go after the car accident and how did she become Alice?
Team Batwoman is investigating a serial killer famous for taking faces and skin from his victims. Kate has suspicions it’s Alice doing the murder so dressed as Batwoman, she tracks Alice down due to the tracking device she placed in Alice’s boyfriend’s body when he was being held captive last week. A fight ensues and Alice is captured, rather easily I might add. We find out later that it was all part of Alice’s plan to get captured and have “one on one” time with Kate. At this point, I love the character of Alice.

Exclusive: Sam Littlefield has been cast as a shady character nicknamed Mouse in a recurring role on the new CW series Batwoman.
Littlefield’s character is described only as a “dynamic figure” who is “working for Alice and the Wonderland Gang,” which suggests that this Mouse might be going down a dangerous rabbit hole in Gotham’s underworld. In DC Comics, Alice is a mentally unstable threat to city and a mysterious figure with complicated past and a penchant for Lewis Carroll cosplay.
Alice will be played by Rachel Skarsten on Batwoman,
Littlefield co-starred, co-wrote, and co-produced in the indie feature Mother’s Little Helpers, which made its world premiere at SXSW. He is repped by Bold Management & Production.

Exclusive: Following the SXSW World Premiere of Mother’s Little Helpers, writer/director/star Kestrin Pantera has inked with ICM Partners.
The agency is also repping the sale of the dysfunctional-family dramedy feature, which is also the follow up to Pantera’s feature directorial debut, Let’s Ruin It With Babies.
Based on true events and inspired by true lies, Mother’s Little Helpers is about how family ties can twist and tear a person and send them to jail. When Joy Pride, a groovy 70s burn-out on the caboose of the flower power movement, learns she has weeks to live, her estranged children reluctantly come together to do right by a mother who always did them wrong.
The film also stars Milana Vayntrub, Breeda Wool, Melanie Hutsell, David Giuntoli, Sam Littlefield and Cool Benson (Jonny’s Sweet Revenge).
Pantera has created several TV series for AwesomenessTV, also a showrunner for digital shows on Facebook and has directed commercials for clients ranging from Wired to J&J.
Before directing, Pantera was a classically trained musician-turned-rocker, playing cello in rock bands in Los Angeles and on tour around the world. Prior to moving to La, she lived in Taipei, Taiwan for almost two years, where she became fluent in Mandarin and performed voice-overs for 100+ American and Southeast Asian companies.
Pantera continues to be managed by Bold MP’s Anna Liza Recto and Michael Kaleda, who also served as co-executive producers on the dramedy.

Nine months after Chris Carter’s long-awaited return to TV, The After, was given a full series order, Amazon has done a complete 180. With shooting on the pilot completed well over a year ago, the online giant decided to not go ahead with the eight episodes it had previously committed to.
“We have decided to not move forward with The After,” said Amazon Studios vp Roy Price. “We would like to thank Chris Carter, the phenomenal cast, crew and producers for all their efforts.”
The news comes courtesy of Variety, who report that Carter’s show was heralded by many as his great comeback to television. His game-changing supernatural serial, The X-Files, dominated the television landscape for years with its conspiracy theories and government cover-ups. Taking a step back from that realm, but not sci-fi altogether, The After was primed to jump on a popular bandwagon, as it focused on...

Toward the end of March Amazon Studios gave Chris Carter's "The After" a series order, but we didn't know when it would debut or how many episodes it would have in its first season. Well, we still don't quite know the former, but we do have some info on the latter...
So far Amazon has slotted "The X-Files" creator's new project for eight episodes, but if Carter has his way, it'll run for at least 99. As he told reporters during Amazon's summer Television Critics Association press tour session, he based the mystery-focused "The After" on Dante's Inferno.
The Divine Comedy, which is comprised of Inferno plus Purgatorio and Paradiso, has 99 cantos in its story (along with an introduction). "I'm using that as my model," Carter revealed.
Other than "early 2015," Amazon hasn't announced the show's exact release date, but per THR, it's not following the "binge" model of all episodes hitting at once.

Amazon has been creating and debuting pilots for shows to run on their Instant Video site. Those pilots are shared with viewers and the viewers are meant to vote for the shows they like. Shows with the most positive feedback get put into series. Zombieland was their first attempt at sci-fi and it failed to make it to series. The votes are in for their second attempt, The After, and we have a winner!
