A water main break at a movie theater can wreak havoc on a film festival!

The Eighth Annual QFest St. Louis, presented by Cinema St. Louis, was supposed to start Sunday April 19th at the Tivoli Theatre. But the organizers had to reschedule when the Tivoli had to shut down because of the water disaster. The show will go on, but the schedule has been changed.

The St. Louis-based Lgbtq film festival, QFest will present an eclectic slate of 23 films – 11 features (six narratives and five documentaries) and 12 short subjects. The participating filmmakers represent a wide variety of voices in contemporary queer world cinema. The mission of the film festival is to use the art of contemporary gay cinema to illustrate the diversity of the Lgbtq community and to explore the complexities of living an alternative lifestyle.

Lgbt-focused U.S. distributor Wolfe Releasing has acquired worldwide distribution rights to "Boy Meets Girl" and "Tiger Orange." The release of these two films will complement Wolfe's upcoming March 2015 release of Swiss Oscar submission and Berlin Teddy Award Winner, "The Circle, which it acquired early last year. "Tiger Orange" is a gritty family drama about two gay brothers, played by Mark Strano and former adult film actor Frankie Valenti, who reunite years after the death of their homophobic father. Wolfe Releasing, celebrating its 30th anniversary year, has acquired world rights to two coming-of-age films.

Eric Schaeffer’s rom-com Boy Meets Girl will open on VOD on April 7 followed by DVD on April 28 and centres on a young transwoman looking for romance in her small Kentucky hometown.

Newcomer Michelle Hendley stars alongside Alexandra Turshen and Michael Welch star in the film, which won a slew of awards at FilmOut San Diego and was named best feature Award at the Iris Prize Film Festival. Wolfe holds all rights excluding Germany.

Wade Gasque’s Tiger Orange will debut later this year and stars Mark Strano and Frankie Valenti (aka former adult star Johnny Hazzard) as estranged gay brothers who grew up under a homophobic father.

The film premiered at Outfest 2014 in Los Angeles where Mark Strano won the grand jury award for Best Actor.

Frankie Valenti, aka gay adult film star Johnny Hazzard, is set to make his big screen debut in the independent feature-length drama "Where We Belong."

The film, set in a small town in Central California, highlights two estranged gay brothers who struggle to reconnect after the recent death of their homophobic father. Valenti plays the role of the younger brother and black sheep of the family.

The film is directed and produced by Wade Gasque. It's co-written by Gasque's longtime boyfriend, Mark Strano, who plays the older brother who still lives at home where he's been caring for the siblings' ailing father.

"I have a handful of gay sibling friends and I've always been fascinated by their stories but I've never seen a movie about them," Gasque explains in a press release sent to The Huffington Post. "What was it like growing up together? Does it make the experience less isolating?...
