A lot of Simpsons fans collect animation cels from the show’s production, despite the fact that Bart Simpson himself once warned us that it feels pretty terrible to spend $350 on a painting of of a singular tiny arm.
While most cels look as one would expect from the show, apparently some contain bonus, anatomically-confounding nudity. As one Simpsons fan recently shared on social media, a cel from “Who Shot Mr. Burns? Part Two” contains an eyeful of Springfield’s oldest billionaire.
In the broadcast, a hungover Smithers dreams that Mr. Burns is unharmed, and having a steamy shower — a parody of a scene from Dallas, the show that also inspired the “Who Shot Mr. Burns?” whodunnit cliffhanger gimmick with its “Who Shot J.R.?” arc.
But while the episode held back on revealing the Full Monty Burns, the cel, bizarrely, depicted the character totally naked from head-to-toe, with a...

When we are first introduced to Ryan Eggold’s character of Ed Ramsey in Episode 1 of the Prime Video hit Cross, the first thing that sticks out is his perfectly coiffed blonde hair. It’s a stark contrast to the look he sported on the NBC medical drama New Amsterdam, and you’d be forgiven if you think he modeled it after rapper Eminem. In fact, nothing could be further from the truth according to the star, who says he was inspired by a horror icon when crafting the style of his serial killer character.
Speaking with The Wrap, Eggold said he gets asked all the time about the Eminem resemblance, but denies that the megastar had any influence on how he presents himself in Cross. "Lately people were like, 'Were you doing an Eminem thing?' I’m like, 'What? No, he’s a killer. No,'" he told the outlet.

“Cross” star Ryan Eggold said people thought his decision to go blonde for his role as serial killer Ed Ramsey was rooted in an effort to channel veteran rapper Eminem.
“No, I was not going for Slim Shady,” Eggold told TheWrap after asking reporter Raquel Harris if she thought his look mirrored the iconic Detroit artist, who was once known for rocking a bleach blonde hair style during the early 2000s. “Lately people were like, ‘Were you doing an Eminem thing?’ I’m like, ‘What? No, he’s a killer. No.”
Eggold stars as Ed Ramsey the villain in the “Cross” Season 1. He’s member of Washington, D.C.’s upper echelon but comes from humble beginnings in the Midwest. He’s suave, laid back, charming but devious. And he loves playing cat and mouse with Alex Cross (Aldis Hodge), toying with him to see how skilled the detective is noted to be.

John Carpenter wasn’t that impressed with Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer.”
The “Thing” director called Nolan’s Best Picture-winning historical drama just “Ok” in an interview for journalist Larry Fitzmaurice’s “Last Donut of the Night” newsletter.
“‘Oppenheimer’ was Ok. It was alright,” Carpenter said. “Everyone’s praising it as the movie of the century — I don’t know about that.”
But is Carpenter a fan of Nolan’s films in general?
“Yeah, I guess, sure,” he added.
The director instead pivoted and pointed to another 2024 Academy Award contender, saying, “I don’t want to talk about things that I haven’t enjoyed. I liked ‘Maestro’ a great deal. I thought that was terrific.”
And it turns out that Carpenter wasn’t crazy about the “Barbenheimer” craze as a whole. The filmmaker told the “Last Donut of the Night” newsletter his thoughts on “Barbie,” simply stating, “Did I like it?...

Ryan Gosling said in an interview with The Wall Street Journal Magazine that he is no longer picking roles that are too psychologically twisted in order to maintain his mental health for the sake of his family. The Oscar nominee has two children with partner and fellow actor Eva Mendes. Gosling’s recent movies, the comedy “Barbie” and the action romance “The Fall Guy,” certainly reflect this career choice.
“I don’t really take roles that are going to put me in some kind of dark place,” Gosling told the publication. “This moment is what I feel like trying to read the room at home and feel like what is going to be best for all of us. The decisions I make, I make them with Eva and we make them with our family in mind first.”
“I think ‘La La Land’ was the first,” Gosling added about when he started to shift his career.

Carlos PenaVega is looking back at his first time touring nationally with Big Time Rush and admitted that it was actually “really hard” having fellow boy band One Direction as their opening act.
The singer-actor — who makes up one-fourth of the American pop group alongside Kendall Schmidt, James Maslow and Logan Henderson — recently opened up about his experience with the British boy band as their openers on the Better With U Tour in 2012.
“After our show, fans were outside the theater chanting for One Direction,” PenaVega recalled on the Unplanned podcast. “That was really hard for us.”
He noted that Big Time Rush’s North American tour was revealed in the fall of 2011, well before One Direction was added. However, at some point between the tour announcement and them actually hitting the stage, the British group featuring Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson catapulted in global popularity.

In 99% of Hollywood movies, the goal is to make the stunt work invisible. Audiences are supposed to believe that the star — or better yet, the character he plays — put his own life at risk jumping off buildings, blowing up cars or duking it out with squads of bad guys. In “The Fall Guy,” the stuntman gets to be the hero (of an insanely overcomplicated story), while the star is a prima donna who claims to do all his own stunts but needs his double to step in when things get tough.
“The Fall Guy” is funny, it’s sexy, and it features the boy’s-toy version of “Barbie” scene-stealer Ryan Gosling — which is to say, after playing a Ken doll, now he embodies the ultimate action figure. What do John Cena and Bella Baxter have in common? At the 96th Academy Awards, both drew attention to the gender pay gap Hollywood costume designers have alleged for years.
On Oscars Sunday, “Poor Things” snagged 11 nominations and four wins. That included Best Costume Design for Holly Waddington and her vision of what a Franken-woman and her suitors would wear in Victorian England. Cena appeared as the category’s presenter — promoting “Ricky Stanicky” and/or his “Barbie” cameo? — in a nude illusion joke that was specifically designed to emphasize the importance of the craft.
“Jimmy Kimmel’s camp was sort of honoring everybody who went through the strike and us all getting back to work and being unified,” costume designer Katja Cahill told IndieWire of the night’s theme and Cena’s cheeky moment. “The idea was to make it funny, but also call attention to the importance and the...

This was supposed to be a big year for the Academy Awards.
The battle between Barbie and Oppenheimer that had been raging all award season (and that began when both films hit theaters on the same day back in July) promised a level of enthusiasm for Hollywood's biggest night that would hearken back to the Oscars' most recent heyday in the '90s.
That was an era in which the tastes of Hollywood bigwigs and average moviegoers widely overlapped, resulting in Best Picture wins for popular favorites like The Silence of the Lambs, Unforgiven, Forrest Gump, and Titanic.
Needless to say, the first movies of the 2020s to take home the industry's biggest prize -- Nomadland, Coda, and Everything Everywhere All at Once -- haven't achieved quite the same level of populist appeal.
Which is one reason why Academy Award ratings these days look so shockingly paltry when compared to...

With many of the winners of the Academy Awards now looking set in stone, there’s one question that we still have to ask. How will returning host Jimmy Kimmel do on his fourth try? His previous gigs were in 2017, 2018 and last year. He’s always been great. But this year, he’ll be better than ever… if he decides to deliver the following Oscars monologue. Mr. Kimmel — here you go.
1. Good evening and welcome to the Academy Awards. Or as it’s known this year, the “OppenOscars.” That’s right. There are 10 films vying for Best Picture. One of them is “Oppenheimer.” The other nine are all “Poor Things.”
2. I’m Jimmy Kimmel, father of the atomic joke and your Oscars host. And good news. Best Actor nominee Cillian Murphy can assure you that there’s a “near zero” chance that I’ll bomb tonight. I can just hear Matt Damon’s melodramatic response.

Following her Best Original Screenplay win for Promising Young Woman, Saltburn, Emerald Fennell’s sophomore feature, presents a gothic tale of obsession and excess, starring Barry Keoghan as Oliver, a social-climbing Oxford student obsessed with the aristocratic Felix (Jacob Elordi). The multi-hyphenate Fennell also pops up as the pregnant Midge doll in Barbie and is co-penning the upcoming John Wick spinoff Ballerina. As adults, we know that not everyone can be trusted. However, little kids, like Peter in the 2023 Lionsgate horror flick "Cobweb," should be able to trust their parents. Is the knocking sound young Peter hears in his bedroom real or in his imagination, as his mom keep telling him? Or are they perhaps lying to him and hiding a dangerous and terrifying secret? There's a line in the horror film "Silent Hill" that says, "Mother is God in the eyes of a child," so who can a child trust if they can't trust their parents?
The psychological thriller "Cobweb" comes to us from first-time feature director Samuel Bodin and writer Chris Thomas Devlin ("Texas Chainsaw Massacre"), and /Film's own William Bibbiani called it "one of the best horror movies of the year." Ryan Gosling thinks there’s a strong “Kenergy” in Canada.
The Canadian actor has been busy promoting the eagerly anticipated “Barbie” movie, with him chatting to Et Canada’s Cheryl Hickey at the Toronto premiere on Wednesday.
As Hickey questioned what the “most Canadian thing about Ken” was, Gosling — who attended the event with his sister Mandi — wasn’t so sure how to answer.
Mandi jumped in, “He’s so polite. He’s so polite He’s so nice. Don’t you know,” as the actor admitted, “I don’t know how to answer that.”

He joked, “There’s some connection there. But we’re not sure.

As the release date draws closer, the hype continues to grow for the pinkest movie of the summer, or most likely the year, or ever. Barbie has brought together some of the biggest names in Hollywood, and in music, for a very brightly-colored, comedic homage to the iconic Mattel fashion doll. Naturally, given the means, the premiere of a toy-centered film is going to come with the release of relevant collectible merchandise, and that's already started to happen with Barbie. Mattel has already gone and done it with two unique dolls created in the likeness of Margot Robbie's Barbie and Ryan Gosling's Ken, and of course opinions of them are abuzz. Per a report from Variety, fans are growing rather divided on the look of Gosling's Ken doll, with some hilarious responses popping up on social media and the doll's Amazon product page.

Ryan Gosling may be a Ken doll, but he was never viewed as cookie-cutter.
The “Barbie” actor revealed during a GQ cover story that his iconic breakout role in 2004 romance “The Notebook” came out of subverted casting. Director Nick Cassavetes told Gosling that playing Noah, opposite Rachel McAdams’ Ali, in the decades-spanning epic would make for an unexpected choice.
“[Nick] straight up told me: ‘The fact that you have no natural leading man qualities is why I want you to be my leading man,'” Gosling said.
He went on to compare his early career to a therapy of sorts, saying, “I was trying to find a place to put all these things that were happening to me. And these films became ways to do that, like time capsules. So you kinda make the movie for yourselves. Doesn’t matter if anyone else does, you know? But I think, having done a lot of that,...

This article contains spoilers for the series finale of "Succession."
There have been lots of fan theories flying around about the series finale of "Succession," but it looks like one of them might have been spot-on. TikTok user NameBerry posted a short video breaking down the theory that the show's ending has been in the cards all along, and it's all hidden in the surname of one character: Tom Wambsgans (Matthew MacFayden). In the TikTok, NameBerry explains the origin of the name Wambsgans, which has something to do with the belly of a goose, but then reveals that the show's writers might have picked the name for another reason. Tom shares a surname (with slightly different spelling) with a baseball player, Bill Wambsganss, who went by "Wamby." Ol' Wamby played for the Cleveland Indians in the 1920s and is remembered for one very special play he made during the 1920 World...

There are a few nerdy actors whose attachments to geeky properties suddenly make them much more exciting because fans know that the person involved will care as much as they do. Karl Urban ("The Boys") is one such actor because he loves comic books, video games, and all of the other geeky things that make us happy. I mean, this is the man who refused to move his mouth from a painful-looking grimace or remove his helmet for "Dredd," so he clearly cares. Now it looks like Urban is going to be attached to another big geeky franchise, as he is reportedly in final talks to play Johnny Cage in the upcoming "Mortal Kombat 2," according to The Wrap. There hasn't been too much news about the sequel to the 2021 video game movie that received mixed reviews (you can read ours here) but felt like it could go in an interesting direction with follow-up entries.

The number of great works of art about climate change could be counted, comfortably, on the single hand of a soon-to-be-extinct orangutan. As with all the most pressing issues of our time, the process of converting dismal reality to affecting art is an alchemy too far. It either renders the product sentimental and sensationalised, or indigestible in its over-cooked virtue. Extrapolations, the big-budget AppleTV+ anthology about a world on the brink of ruin, achieves something quite extraordinary: it manages to be both sappy and sermonising.
The action begins in 2037, as fires tear through the Middle East and sea levels threaten low-lying cities. As governments scramble to agree new climate accords (we see negotiators at COP42 in Tel Aviv), tech genius Nick Bilton (Kit Harington; not good for my Seo), and his company Alpha, could hold the key. Their patents for desalination technology would allow a parched Earth some respite – but...

Ryan Gosling has been preparing to play a Ken doll for 27 years ever since his 1995 screen debut. Don’t believe us? Well, the proof is in Gosling’s filmography…and his “Ken-ergy” quips.
“Finally, it’s happening. This has been coming my whole life,” Gosling joked to Variety of starring in “Barbie.”
Well, we’re opting to take those words quite literally. Two Academy Award nominations later, and Gosling is finally getting his chance to bare his chiseled abs and knockoff Calvin Klein briefs for Oscar-nominated Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie” epic, in theaters July 2023.
Sure, it may seem that Gosling’s darker roles may not totally fit in the Mattel-produced Barbie Dream World, but every step in Gosling’s fated path proves he’s been Ken for a long time coming. It is all about Ken-presentation, after all.
“I felt like I was seeing myself. I felt seen,” Gosling added.

The first teaser for the upcoming Barbie film has been released.
The film will star Margot Robbie as the titular character and Ryan Gosling as Ken. The new teaser has a humorous vibe, taking much inspiration from the beginning of Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey.
After the homage to Kubrick’s film, we see snippets of the town in which Barbie resides along with what looks to be Gosling’s Ken with his gang.
Robbie is introduced during the playful moments at the beginning. Children are playing with dolls in a sand pit when they come upon Barbie standing tall in a white-and-black swimsuit and vintage sunglasses. This particular outfit is a reference to a Barbie doll in 1959.
Gosling, in the momentary snap we get of him, wears a chest-revealing open black vest. A matching headband, silver necklace and gold chain complete the outfit for his character.

The Sweet Tooth show makes several changes from the original comics, and one change to "Big Man" Tommy Jepperd's backstory serves to make his character even sadder. Despite focusing on the lives of half-animal children, the Sweet Tooth comic plot is dark, bordering on bleak at points in its story. As such, when footage from Netflix's adaptation was first shown, it seemed clear elements would be altered to allow audiences to see the post-apocalyptic world with some more of Gus' whimsy, creating a show that still had grim moments, but that focused more on showing the wonder of this changed world - not just the horrors found within it.
However, Jepperd's origin is altered in the show in a way that makes the Sweet Tooth season 1 figure more tragic. In the comics, Tommy is a former ice hockey player, having played for the Minnesota Wildcats - whereas in the show,...

Finally, someone understands the glory of "Barbie" on more than just a superficial level. Since the announcement of Greta Gerwig's "Barbie" starring Margot Robbie, most of the talk has been centered on the unbelievably stacked cast, the pitch-perfect fashion design, Ryan Gosling's bleach blonde hair, and the cast sleepover that kicked off production. This is Barbie's world and we're all just impatiently waiting for any and every update living in it. In a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal, Will Ferrell, who is tragically not playing a Ken doll, spoke a bit about his time working on the film and his exciting role as the "insensitive" and "weird" fictional CEO of Mattel.
This is big news, as Gerwig and Mattel have been pretty tight-lipped about the film's plot. A larger-than-life comedian like Will Ferrell sounds like the perfect fit for the role of a villainous CEO of a toy company,...

Simu Liu is a certified dance master, (rumored) Ken doll, and, now, a champion licker. Yep, you read that right.
The “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” star put his tongue to the test when tasked with bringing a maggot back to life in National Geographic’s “Running Wild With Bear Grylls” reality survival series. Why do we need more maggots in this world? Well, Grylls required one as bait to catch a fish with his bare hands. Such is life in the wilderness.

“I am such a big fan of Ncuti’s, he’s the coolest,” Gosling said during “The One” show with hosts Alex Scott and Roman Kemp (via The Independent). “Him playing Doctor Who is the most exciting thing that’s happening right now. I’m here for it.”
Gosling previously made headlines by donning a fan-made t-shirt featuring Gatwa as the Time Lord. “Doctor Who” showrunner Russell T. Davies reposted a photo of Gosling in fan gear, captioning, “This is, genuinely, Ryan Gosling wearing a t-shirt of Ncuti Gatwa as Doctor Who” with a shocked emoji.

Ryan Gosling fans on Twitter weren’t the only ones sent swooning over his first look as Ken in the upcoming “Barbie.”
Eva Mendes, who shares two daughters with the star, said that even she couldn’t contain her excitement at seeing Gosling transform into Ken.
“I saw the photo and the 14-year-old in me was like, ‘Ahhh,'” Mendes said on The Talk. “It’s a funny photo, and he’s trying to be funny, so it worked on all levels.”
Gosling debuted his beach-blonde hairstyle and tanned abs in an acid-washed denim “suit” showing off his custom Ken underwear in lieu of Calvin Klein. The perfectly early 2000s look effectively broke the internet, with glimpses of co-star and executive producer Margot Robbie rocking hot pink pantsuits as the titular Barbie. Oscar-winning costume designer Jacqueline Durran is behind the “Barbie” looks, right down to Ken’s tighty whities.

If there's one thing you should know about me, it's that according to the hot pink VHS tape "Barbie Birthday Party at Walt Disney World, Epcot" I watched ad nauseum in 1994, I am a certified "Friend of Barbie."
