Dan is a BAFTA and Emmy-nominated writer/director/producer raised in the Yorkshire Dales. After graduating from law school, he began his career as a video assist operator and set editor on studio films, honing his craft while developing his own projects.
His debut feature film, Lad: A Yorkshire Story, became a sleeper hit during the pandemic, earning national headlines and widespread acclaim on Amazon Prime and Channel 5. This followed the success of his BAFTA Cymru-nominated short film, Love You, Joseff Hughes.
His most recent film, the feature documentary, The Boy Who Lived (HBO and SKY) received a 5* review in The Guardian and was described by The Evening Standard as, 'One of the most moving pieces of television all year."
Dan is married with two children.
