Jamie Foxx and his production company, Foxxhole Productions, have struck a multiyear first-look deal with Fox Entertainment Studios.

As part of this partnership, Foxx will serve as an executive producer and content originator for scripted projects across comedy, drama and animation. When it comes to unscripted projects, Fox Entertainment Studios will also have exclusive rights to Foxx’s projects and producing services. Foxx and his team will start developing projects for the studio immediately.

Jamie Foxx has inked a multi-year deal with Fox Entertainment Studios, giving the network first-look rights to scripted television material from Foxx’s Foxxhole Productions banner, and exclusive rights to his projects and producing services in the unscripted space.

Foxx already has a slate of scripted and unscripted projects in progress and will begin developing them with Fox Entertainment Studios immediately. The agreement builds on Foxx’s long-standing relationship with the network — he currently hosts the music game show “Beat Shazam” alongside his daughter Corinne Foxx, and he executive produces the police procedural “Alert: Missing Persons Unit.”

47 Meters Down premiered in 2017, following two sisters who go cage diving during a holiday in Mexico. It starred This Is Us' Mandy Moore and The Vampire Diaries' Claire Holt in the leading roles. A sequel followed two years later called 47 Meters Down: Uncaged with an entirely new cast. On Sunday afternoon, Foxx offered attendees of the African American Film Critics Association’s (Aafca) Special Achievement Awards luncheon a sneak peek at the tone of that material — a mix of heartfelt reflection with some top-notch zingers — while accepting Aafca’s Producers Award alongside his Foxxhole Productions partner Datari Turner.

2023 was a big year for the company thanks to the back-to-back successes of Netflix’s “They Cloned Tyrone” and Amazon’s “The Burial.” But while Foxxhole’s movies were shooting to the top of the streaming charts, Foxx was fighting for his life after suffering a medical emergency — the nature of which has not been disclosed.
