Pawnee has taken on Hollywood, as cast members of Parks and Recreation teamed up to join the picket line amid the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike. L’il Sebastian even helped the Parks and Rec team say (K)nope to the AMPTP!
Major Parks and Rec cast members included Adam Scott (Ben Wyatt), Nick Offerman (Ron Swanson), Aubrey Plaza (April Ludgate), Jim O’Heir (Jerry/Garry Gergich), Retta (Donna Meagle), and Ben Schwartz (Jean-Ralphio Saperstein), while those that played smaller characters – Alison Becker (Shauna Malwae-Tweep), Colton Dunn (Brett), Kirk Fox (Sewage Joe), Joe Mande (Morris Lerpiss), Susan Yeagley (Jessica Wicks), and Allan McLeod (Trodd Frankensteip) also turned up. Even Sam Elliott, who turned 79 just a couple days before and played Ron Swanson’s Eagleton rival in three episodes, made an appearance. Schwartz shared a few photos on social media:

The cast of Parks and Recreation reunited on the picket line as the stars and crew members came together to fight for a better contract with the studios.
Amid the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes, the cast of the NBC sitcom was seen outside the Amazon Studios in Culver City.
The picketers on the scene included Aubrey Plaza, Adam Scott, Nick Offerman, Retta, Jim O’Heir, Ben Schwartz, Alison Becker, Kirk Fox, Joe Mande, Susan Yeagley, Allan McLeod and Colton Dunn.
Alongside the Parks and Recreation stars, Li’l Sebastian, Pawnee’s famous miniature horse, also made an appearance.
April Ludgate, the character that Plaza played in the comedy, famously had a feud with Rashida Jones’s Ann Perkins. Plaza made reference to that with her picket sign that read, “Ann Perkins works for the AMPTP.”

It’s been 10 years since we’ve been treated to a deliciously quirky, fully improvised mockumentary from director Christopher Guest, but now he’s back to deliver to us the hilarious Netflix movie, Mascots.
Guest once again gathers his veteran crew of improvisers – Jane Lynch, Parker Posey, Fred Willard, Ed Begley Jr., John Michael Higgins, Bob Balaban and Jennifer Coolidge – and pairs then with a slew of newcomers like Chris O’Dowd, Susan Yeagley, Zach Woods, Sarah Baker and Tom Bennett. The results are, as you’d expect, nothing short of amazing.
Much in the same vein as Best in Show, Mascots centers on an international mascot competition and all the wacky people involved, from organizers to the judges to the contestants. In his review of the film back at Tiff, our very own Darren Ruecker concluded the following about it:
Mascots is no failure, thanks to a robust handful of quintessential Guest gags.

The world of film is obviously as broad and far-reaching as it could be, and no matter how much we might feel that certain films are so good that everyone should like them, people have differing tastes. I might think My Dinner with Andre is easily one of the best films there is, despite the fact that most people can’t finish it. Virtually every list of the best films ever includes Casablanca somewhere close to the top, but I agree with the cast and crew in thinking that it isn’t really anything special. Such is life.
But, if you don’t have Waiting for Guffman, or Best in Show, or both, on your list of favorite movies, I just don’t get you.
Christopher Guest‘s mockumentary films (which also include A Mighty Wind, and For Your Consideration – which are both good, but not nearly as solid) all include familiar faces,...

As Parks and Recreation takes its final bow, we’re also saying a tearful goodbye to the Pawnee residents who shaped the town and gave the series a special place in our hearts.
As much as we adore Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) and Ron Swanson (Nick Offerman), some of our most beloved moments, (and favorite one-liners) in the series came from the eccentrically quirky minor characters. From Li'l Sebastian to Jean-Ralphio (Ben Schwartz), we’re breaking down our favorite recurring characters on Parks and Rec -- in no particular order.
1. Bobby Newport
The adorably dim-witted son of the Sweetums empire, Bobby -- played by Paul Rudd -- was first introduced as Leslie’s opponent for City Council. His charming and naive strategy on the campaign trail almost cost Leslie the election.
2. Dennis Feinstein

Love Shack is a gleeful, slick faux documentary in the grand tradition of Best in Show and This Is Spinal Tap – except instead of dog shows or hair bands, this flick takes aim at the porn industry. Directed by Gregg Saccon and Michael B. Silver, it's a decidedly goofy, gay-inclusive, PG-13-appropriate take on the making of a "legacy" porn flick.
A cast of commentators, including former porn stars, a "professional" porn historian and a VH1 "I Love the 80s" style snarkmeister begin the picture, detailing the life of recently deceased "Mo Saltzman" (Ian Gomez), a beloved and wildly successful porn producer with 40 years of "commercially and artistically successful" films under his belt.
Mo has left an artistic legacy, according to the "academic" commentator, an empire according to Mr. Snark, and a loving, non-traditional family, according to his many stars. Now in their 50s and 60s, former performers recall their...

The comedian and Weeds star, who is also the author of the book, Yes, You’re Pregnant, But What About Me?, says he fully embaces being an older father.
“It’s hard for me to sneak into the nursery while [Gable] is sleeping, because when I walk all of my joints and tendons are popping,” Nealon, 56, jokes. “It sounds like I’m walking on bubble wrap.

TBS has two new digital destinations for its online comedic content. Launching Wednesday is VeryFunnyAds.com, where an online collection of funny commercials from around the world will exist, with many available for the first time to U.S. viewers. The site launches in conjunction with the one-hour TBS special World's Funniest Commercials, hosted by Kevin Nealon and his wife, actress-comedian Susan Yeagley. In addition, Laugh Lab launches this fall and includes comic material available through TBS.com featuring stand-up and a broadband encore presentation of TBS' original series My Boys and 10 Items or Less.
