The Batman Part II is flying off to a new date. The film will now open Oct. 2, 2026. That’s back a full year from its previous date.
Batman 2 wasn’t the only notable change made to Warner Bros. release calendar on Tuesday: The Maggie Gyllenhaal-directed The Bride!, starring Christian Bale, will take Batman 2‘s old date of Oct. 3, 2025; Barry Levinson’s gangster pic Alto Nights is being delayed from Nov. 24, 2024, to March 21, 2025; and Paul Thomas Anderson’s untitled, star-studded event pic has landed an Aug. 8, 2025, release date. All of the titles will be offered in Imax.
The sequel to Matt Reeves’ The Batman was first announced at CinemaCon in April 2022. In August of that year, Mattson Tomlin boarded to co-write with Reeves, and in late January 2023, DC Studios bosses James Gunn and Peter Safran gave the film a title and date of Oct. 3, 2025. Matt Reeves’ The Batman 2 is no longer opening on October 3, 2025 — a new launchpad for comic book movies. Instead, it is going a year later on October, 2, 2026. We hear the new date is due to the aftermath of the dual strikes.
The spacing also will give some distance from James Gunn’s Superman, which is hitting cinemas on July 11, 2025. That film will kick off Gunn and Peter Safran’s new DC Studios, the first phase titled “Gods and Monsters.”
Reeves’ Batman is not part of the Gunn universe, but it’s all kosher to co-exist. Gunn has another Batman movie in the works, Batman: Brave and the Bold, with Andy Muschietti directing. Robert Pattinson plays Batman in Reeves’ universe. The role will be recast for Muschietti’s film.

Adonis Creed is coming back for another go around in the ring, with "Creed III" set to grace our screens next month. This one will be a bit unique though as Sylvester Stallone will not be returning as Rocky Balboa and will not be in Michael B. Jordan's corner. This time, Jordan's facing off against Jonathan Majors of "Lovecraft Country" fame (in addition to playing Kang in the Marvel Cinematic Universe) as a forgotten memory from Adonis' past. Now, MGM has released a final trailer for the film, which sets up an emotional, hard-hitting battle between Jordan and Majors' onscreen counterparts. Let them fight, as it were.
Aside from starring in the lead role again, Jordan also stepped behind the camera to direct this entry personally, marking his feature directorial debut. If this trailer is anything to go on, he had no trouble adapting to the director's chair. Let's have a look,...

MGM’s Big Game spot for Creed III focuses on the relationship between Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan) and Damian (Jonathan Majors). The third film of the franchise marks Jordan’s directorial debut.
“I finally got to this place in my career where I wanted to tell a story and not just be in front of the camera, not just execute somebody else’s vision,” explained Jordan. And to the Critics Choice and Screen Actors Guild awards nominee, this third film is all about family. “I think thematically for us family is always the core, you know? Family and heart,” said Jordan. “You have to face your past and find out who you really are. I think it is something that we address in this movie.”
The PG-13 drama also features Tessa Thompson reprising her role as Bianca. Wood Harris, Mila Davis-Kent, Florian Munteanu, and Phylicia Rashad also star.

Sylvester Stallone has more to say about the Rocky franchise in light of MGM developing a film spinoff centering on Ivan Drago.
Stallone — who wrote the screenplay for 1976’s Oscar-winning Rocky, in which he starred as boxer Rocky Balboa — took to Instagram on Saturday to criticize the planned film Drago that is being written by Robert Lawton, as first reported this week by The Wrap. Although Stallone did not directly name anyone in his latest post, his mention of a “94-year-old producer” is an apparent reference to Irwin Winkler, who is 91 and has a producing credit on all of the films in the Rocky franchise, in addition to the subsequent Creed spinoff films.
“Another Heartbreaker… Just found this out…Once Again , Pathetic 94 year old Producer and His Selfish Useless Children are once again picking what is left Off The Bones of another wonderful character!

Sylvester Stallone came out swinging against “Rocky” producer Irwin Winkler.

If you ever run out of toilet paper Please by this one you won’t be disappointed.”
Stallone went on to call David Winkler “painfully untalented” and his father Irwin the “remarkably untalented and parasitical Producer of ‘Rocky’ and ‘Creed'” before praising Winkler’s “wonderful” producing partner Robert Chartoff who passed away in 2015.

Deadline has mentioned it was going to happen numerous times, but Michael B. Jordan has now committed to a step up to a new title: director. He’ll helm the third installment of Creed, per MGM, which has dated the film for Thanksgiving 2022.
Jordan’s big moment — this is his directorial debut — was spoiled by his onscreen leading lady Tessa Thompson as a toss-away in an online interview. But most knew this was in the cards for several years since Irwin Winkler, producer of the original Rocky films and the Creed spinoffs, revealed that Jordan was going to be the director of the third film.
Script is by Keenan Coogler and Zach Baylin, based on an outline by Ryan Coogler. Aside from Thompson, Phylicia Rashad is also back. Not mentioned is whether Sylvester Stallone will answer the bell and bring his Rocky Balboa back.

We examine the recent Val Kilmer movies, that happened to have bypasses cinemas...
Once upon a time, Val Kilmer’s individual look - defined by a little Swedish blood from his mother’s side - had hearts pumping. Those looks, along with his arrogant, edgy attitude and acting style, helped him clinch plenty of complimentary roles during the 80s and early-90s. Films like Top Secret, Top Gun, Willow and my personal favourite Real Genius were pushing him toward a stellar career back then, and his star was steadily rising.
See also: a closer look at what may be Val Kilmer's weirdest film
But Kilmer came down from a serious high of Heat and Tombstone in the mid-90s when he signed on to the notorious clusterfuck that was The Island Of Dr. Moreau, and only recently has the part he played in its disastrous production come to light.
