“Everybody’s just in the best mood and it gets better and better throughout the day,” I overheard a fan say Thursday afternoon at the 2025 Luck Reunion. His observation was spot-on. For its 13th year, the boutique festival held on Willie Nelson’s Luck Ranch in Spicewood, Texas — just outside of Austin, as the song goes — proved to be unlike any music fest on earth.

Luck Reunion, the bucket-list music festival held each March at Willie Nelson’s ranch in Spicewood, Texas, has announced its 2025 lineup. Along with a set by perennial headliner Nelson and his Family Band, the daylong fest will include performances by Charley Crockett, Steve Earle, Taj Mahal, Shane Smith and the Saints, Lukas Nelson, Jesse Welles, Lily Meola, and Julien Baker and Torres.
This year’s Luck is scheduled for March 13, as usual, smack dab in the middle of the music portion of the South by Southwest conference in nearby Austin.

Jesse Welles, the gravelly-voiced songwriter who is reviving protest songs through a series of self-shot videos, will release his new studio album, Middle, next month.
But there’s nothing “middle” about Welles: He’s unflinchingly addressed hot-button topics like the war in Gaza, capitalism, and the U.S. healthcare system in his viral videos with song titles like “War Isn’t Murder,” “Amazon Santa Claus,” and “United Health.” The latter dropped just a week after the high-profile shooting of the CEO of UnitedHealthcare in New York (“Now CEOs come...

Songwriter Jesse Welles has been turning heads with his solo acoustic protest songs about the war in Gaza (“War Isn’t Murder”) and capitalism (“Amazon Santa Claus”), earning a devoted following online and at his sold-out concerts, including the upcoming leg of his Fear Is the Mind Killer Tour. This week, Welles recounted the history of America’s healthcare industry in a new acoustic video and song, “United Health.”

Sylvester Stallone was one of the biggest movie stars of the 1980s and had many acclaimed roles in action hits, franchise sequels, and underrated thrillers. While this was a decade defined by Stallone's feud with Arnold Schwarzenegger, these two icons pushed each other forward to star in increasingly outrageous cult favorites throughout this incredible decade in filmmaking. During this time, Stallone often one-upped the stakes of his long-standing rival by branching out into comedies, neo-noirs, and continuing to make his own work as a writer, director, and star of some of the biggest hits of this era.
Many of the best Stallone movies were released during the 1980s, as this was a prime time for the popularity of his characters like Rocky Balboa and John Rambo. Stallone had plenty of underrated movies during this time that, only with the power of hindsight, have come to be regarded as cult classics and misunderstood fan favorites.

Mark Hamill is best known for playing Luke Skywalker in Star Wars, but the actor has given life to quite a few other great characters outside the galaxy far, far away. Mark Hamill got his big break in the original trilogy of Star Wars movies, and his time as Luke Skywalker has had a huge impact on his career. While he's certainly best known for Star Wars, Hamill has also branched out into other franchises, genres, and even mediums. In fact, Hamill has played so many great characters in his career that narrowing down the best of them is quite a feat.
Plenty of actors known for Star Wars have made great movies, but very few of them have had as prolific careers as Mark Hamill. In his career, Hamill has had a role in over 300 shows, movies, games, and more. Many of those roles have been animated; for example,...

Underrated animated fantasy movies often don't receive the recognition they deserve at the Oscars. Movies like Wizards, The Red Turtle, and FernGully offer deep themes and incredible animation. Nimona showcases a heartwarming story about facing cruelty, while The Night is Short, Walk on Girl has a satisfying experimental narrative.
Animation lends itself well to fantastical settings, which is why many filmmakers produce animated fantasy movies which sadly do not get as much love as they deserve. 2024s Oscar nominations and predictions included a Best Animated Feature race between The Boy and the Heron and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, with audiences paying little attention to other nominees that were never going to win. Following the categorys inception at the beginning of the millennium, movie fans were treated to many animated movies in the 2000s that were forgotten.

In The Flash‘s Oct. 24 episode, Wally West (played by Keiynan Lonsdale) informed Barry, Iris et al that he was leaving town to sort out his life, in the wake of Earth-2 girlfriend Jesse Wells jilting him.
But rest assured, Wally’s trip home to Blue Valley is only a temporary one. “Keiynan’s a regular,” co-showrunner Andrew Kreisberg assured reporters on Monday following a screening of this week’s episode, “and we will see him again,” next in Episode 7 (airing Nov. 21).

This Tuesday night is an especially great one for TV. NCIS served up a strong hour (and dropped a tiny bombshell), This Is Us went on a terrific road trip, tonight’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is the best one in a long time. And The Flash allowed us to watch a speedster battle a sentient gorilla in a giant arena.

The CW has released a gallery of images from next week’s episode of The Flash, and in them we get to see a lot of very interesting reveals. The most significant has to be our first look at Jesse Wells suited up as Jesse Quick, a speedster from the comic books who, in the TV show, hails from Earth-2 and is the daughter of Harrison Wells.
Your eyes aren’t deceiving you though; Jesse is indeed wearing a slightly modified version of the costume worn by Trajectory when that villain appeared in The Flash season 2.
The next big reveal is the return of Captain Cold. The fan-favourite villain was killed off in the season 1 finale of Legends of Tomorrow, so how exactly is he alive and well here? Chances are it has something to do with Barry Allen’s recent trip back in time, as...

During the second season of The Flash, the team was forced to recreate the same particle accelerator blast that originally gave Barry Allen his powers in order to help him go up against and defeat Zoom. However, a side effect of that experiment was the fact that both Wally West and Jesse Wells (the daughter of Harrison Wells from Earth-2) were hit by it, too.
Despite not initially showing any symptoms, Wally has since been revealed as being Kid-Flash – in the Flashpoint timeline at least – but there’s been no word on Jesse. She returned to Earth-2 with her father, so we simply don’t know what sort of impact Barry’s trip back in time had on them. However, reports from the Vancouver set of The Flash confirm hat she’ll suit up as a speedster.

We already know that the former is going to suit up as Kid-Flash in season three of course, but it has now been revealed that Jesse is next. There's another Flash in town.
Kid Flash!
That's right, Wally West gets his speedster powers on The Flash Season 3. We don't need details, because we have photos to prove it.
We have absolutely no details about how Kid Flash will appear, only that he does.
On The Flash Season 2, when Barry disappeared in the mini particle accelerator explosion, the Speed Force seemed to wash over both Wally West and Jesse Wells when they were knocked down in the hallway.
But despite daddy Joe's best efforts to find some speed in his son, nothing appeared.
Jesse, however, lit up when The Flash touched her while she was injured.
It's possible Kid Flash will be the new guy in town because of the fiasco Barry created: Flashpoint.
When he returns from saving his mother, nothing should be the same. We've been wondering if he'll even be The Flash any longer.

While guys like Steven Spielberg, Francis Ford Coppola and George Lucas spent the 1970s reinventing live action moviemaking, animation had just one lone figure toiling away. Ralph Bakshi, trained on Terrytoons and involved in 1960s television animation, began exploring the possibilities of animated features in the shadow of Walt Disney’s death. His Fritz the Cat made people sit up and take notice, followed by Heavy Traffic, and Coonskin – urban, funky, raw tales set in a familiar world.
