The Apple TV+ series Ted Lasso premiered in 2020 and aired for three seasons to critical acclaim. The show drew viewers in with exceptional performances, outrageous humor, uplifting tone, and more. There is much buzz on social media about a fourth season of the series. But until then, viewers continue to look for another series to fill the void.
Comedy fans are always searching for another intelligent comedy to keep them entertained. Ted Lasso set the bar fairly high, but the list below will certainly give fans some new series to keep them entertained.

Loudermilk, an irreverent music-based dramedy series, has gained popularity since streaming on Netflix in 2024. Cutter, a beloved character from Season 1, abruptly departed the show due to the actor's real-life battle with substance abuse. There are hopes and plans for Cutter to return in Loudermilk Season 4, potentially focusing on his return and subsequent sobriety.
Created by Peter Farrelly and Bobby Mort, Loudermilk is an irreverent music-based dramedy series that debuted on the Audience Network in 2017. Following the first two seasons, the show changed networks to Prime Video for its third and final season in 2020. Now available to stream on Netflix, where the show has found new life after reaching the top of the most-watched TV shows, Loudermilk continues to increase its popularity in 2024.

Ron Livingston has found his niche as a glorious curmudgeon in the show Loudermilk, upgrading his character work from Office Space. Livingston's portrayal of Sam Loudermilk in Loudermilk feels like a seasoned version of his Office Space character, delivering lines with sarcasm and a half-smile. Loudermilk is a reluctant hero who offers growling friendship to those who deserve it, making it a hero's journey where the hero is angry at the path he has to tread.
There are few cult classics like Office Space, the workplace comedy that looked at how much people hate their jobs. However, actor Ron Livingston seems to have found his niche once again with the show Loudermilk. Unhappy, a bit grumpy, and annoyed by those around him. These are the qualities of his two most beloved characters.
Loudermilk is now in its third season, and Livingston seems to have found his clearly defined role as a glorious curmudgeon.

"Just because people aren't getting sick anymore, doesn't mean the world is right again." Saban Films has debuted the official trailer for Light of My Life, a new film written and directed by actor Casey Affleck. This first premiered at the Berlin Film Festival earlier this year, and also stopped by the Karlovy Vary Film Festival. Set in a post-apocalyptic world in which a disease has killed all women, the film is about a father who must hide his daughter to keep her safe from the remaining few scavengers left alive. It's mostly a slow burn, dialogue-based, quiet drama with just a few thrilling, action-y moments. Affleck stars with newcomer Anna Pniowsky, and the small indie cast includes Elisabeth Moss, Tom Bower, Timothy Webber, and Hrothgar Mathews. If you like the look of this low key father-daughter drama, it's worth seeking out. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for Casey Affleck's Light of My Life,...

Growing up in a small suburban town, the horror fan base was enormous but the festivities geared toward such a crowd were few and far between. The first ever horror film festival in my hometown launched when I was eighteen years old and, although I’ve attended many larger-scale festivals since, this one remains unforgettable. Not only did I get to meet a couple horror icons (there were only two in attendance) and view the works of young horror filmmakers, this festival was history in the making and I was there.
Unfortunately for the townspeople in Midnight Matinee (1989), their first horror film festival also made history… and they only wish that they could forget. But as far as the film itself, it won’t take me long to forget.
