The movie follows Valens’ life and short-lived musical career. In addition to that it also featured the effect his career had on others life.

The 1987 biopic La Bamba about the life and career of rock and roll legend Ritchie Valens is a critically acclaimed movie that still holds up today. Now, Ritchie Valens is getting another showcase on the big screen with a La Bamba remake in the works at Sony. As per a report by Variety, Mucho Mas Media and Sony are teaming up to remake the Golden Globe-nominated film based on rock star Valens' life and career.
Luis Valdez, the writer and director of the original film, is on board as an executive producer, with Jos Rivera, who is best known for 2004's The Motorcycle Diaries, for which he was nominated for an Academy Award, is attached to write the new screenplay. Valdez spoke about his film standing the test of time, Valens' inspiration for a new generation, and how the new biopic can provide even more insight into Valens' short, but successful life and career.

A teenage boy's penchant for finding some form of trouble is worth studying.
In Lifetime's newest original film, Friday Night Sext Scandal, we have a storyline inspired by real events.
It intends to explore the dark underbelly of the high school experience regarding teenage boys who go on the hunt for sexually explicit photos from their female counterparts.
And in true Lifetime fashion, they explore the scandalous nature behind this from a different perspective.
The film focuses on one teen boy's experience of getting reeled into these deplorable actions.
The film stars Riverdale's Anthony Timpano as Shawn, a 16-year-old jock who is just starting to see advancement in his football career when he's upgraded to a starter on the team.
Of course, with advancement in the athletic realm comes increased popularity and the opportunity to hang out with upperclassmen, too.
And we all know very little good comes from associating with upper-class jocks.

“Don’t be such a dreamer,” says Bob (Esai Morales) to his younger brother, to which soon-to-be teen star Ritchie Valens (Lou Diamond Phillips), né Richard Valenzuela, quickly retorts, “My dreams are pure rock ‘n’ roll.” It’s the kind of blunt, overearnest exchange found in countless music-based biopics, but it also exemplifies La Bamba’s penchant for the cartoonishly archetypal. Indeed, everyone surrounding Ritchie is stripped of both nuance and agency as their roles in the film rarely extend beyond fueling or antagonizing the future icon.
Ritchie’s girlfriend, Donna (Danielle von Zerneck), the namesake of one of his biggest hits, is little more than a poodle skirt and a cheery smile, while his doting mother, Connie (Rosanna DeSoto), is the quintessential ultra-supportive parent. Bob is certainly the most fully fleshed out of this trio, but even most of his personal ups and downs are presented as being directly...

Barbara Hershey is going behind bars in Left To Die. The Black Swan co-star and Oscar nominee will play an innocent woman thrown in an Ecuadorian jail for drug trafficking in the Lifetime TV movie, which begins production this month ahead of a 2013 premiere. Hershey’s character’s only hope is her daughter Tammi’s belief in her mother’s innocence and her fight to free her; Rachel Leigh Cook is set to play Tammi. Leon Ichaso is directing from a script by Agatha Dominik and Suzette Couture. Sony Pictures Television, Blue Blazer Productions and Sandbar Pictures will produce. Frank von Zerneck, Danielle von Zerneck, Elizabeth Zox Friedman, Greg Little and Tammi Chase will executive produce. Hershey — who currently appears on ABC’s Once Upon A Time playing Cora, the mother of the Evil Queen — is repped by Pakula/King & Associates, Impression Entertainment and attorney Marcy Morris.

I really enjoye watching Men of A Certain Age, and highly recommend it. The new shows don't really catch my interest yet, aside from Pyramid. Check out the full lineup below and share your thoughts on what shows you are most interested in seeing.
