The second season of HBO's zombie drama The Last of Us premieres in just a couple of weeks, on Sunday, April 13. After the hugely successful first season, which was quite possibly the best video game adaptation in history, hype is sky-high. And now, info about the premiere episode is leaking out. According to screenshots of HBO's schedule posted on The Last of Us subreddit, the season 2 premiere is entitled "Future Days." It will run for an hour and feature "Adult Language," "Adult Content" and "Violence."
Interestingly, when I actually go to the HBO schedule to try and confirm this, all I see is a blank spot where information on the season 2 premiere should be:

Eddie Vedder and Stephen Marley have shared new covers of two Neil Young classics from Harvest for an upcoming tribute album benefitting the Bridge School.
While “Rockin’ in the Free World” has become a Pearl Jam live staple, for his contribution, Vedder covered “The Needle and The Damage Done,” Young’s devastating 1972 song about heroin addiction. The Pearl Jam frontman plays the cover pretty straight (not that that’s a bad thing), with just acoustic guitar accompaniment and a vocal performance that’s distinctly reminiscent of Young’s soft, quivering tenor.

A cover of Neil Young’s “The Needle and the Damage Done” by Eddie Vedder has been released as the latest single from the upcoming compilation album Heart of Gold: The Songs of Neil Young Volume I, arriving today along with a cover of “Old Man” by Stephen Marley.
Vedder’s take on “The Needle and the Damage Done” conveys the hard-earned wisdom of the 1972 composition, and showcases the Pearl Jam singer’s signature gravelly baritone. It also isn’t the first time he’s sung the song — Pearl Jam first covered it in 1995, and it’s appeared a few times in their setlists since then. In 2009, Vedder dedicated a rendition of it to Michael Jackson, two months after the pop star’s death.

Jack White and Bill Murray randomly found themselves seated next to each other during a baseball game in Tokyo, Japan, on March 18th.
As White recounted on Instagram, they both attended the first game of the Tokyo Series featuring the Chicago Cubs against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Adding to the coincidence, Cubs superfan Eddie Vedder had just gifted White a vintage jersey before the game.

As an avid baseball fan, White no doubt lined up those gigs so that he could attend the Tokyo Series. It appears fellow rock legend and Chicago Cubs super fan Eddie Vedder made similar travel plans, as he, too, is in Tokyo and happened to make a surprise appearance during White’s concert on Saturday. Together, the two teamed up for a rip-roaring cover of Neil Young’s “Rockin’ in the Free World’,” a staple of Pearl Jam’s live show that White himself also recently played at SNL50.

Jack White’s fans at his show at Toyosu Pit in Tokyo on Saturday were treated to a surprise performance by Eddie Vedder.
During White’s encore, which included the White Stripes songs “Hypnotize” and “Seven Nation Army,” White launched into Neil Young’s “Rockin’ in the Free World” with his band. White delivered the first verse before the Pearl Jam frontman surprised fans when he sauntered on the stage to join in during the first chorus. At one point during the performance, Vedder freestyled with lyrics that included “There’s only one Jack White.

When reality is stranger than fiction, Hollywood takes notice - these films prove it.
I caught “Last Breath” in theaters this weekend, and wow - what a ride. Beautifully shot, intense, and suspenseful - and incredibly, it’s all based on a true story. It follows a deep-sea diver who gets stranded 300 feet below the ocean with only minutes of air left… and the rescue mission to try and save his life. After the movie, I got to thinking about other great scripted movies that have associated documentaries. There are some incredible films out there that take real-life stories and turn them into gripping, cinematic experiences. So, here are my top 7 favorite scripted movies inspired by true-story documentaries.

SNL50: The Anniversary Special, itself the climax of weeks of celebratory documentaries and live specials celebrating Saturday Night Live, was brought to a rock and roll close by Paul McCartney, who performed a Beatles medley including “Golden Slumbers,” “Carry That Weight,” and “The End.” That final song might have been a direct nod to one of McCartney’s most famous appearances on SNL, opposite Chris Farley.
In the February 13th, 1993 episode of SNL, McCartney was the show’s musical guest but also made an appearance on “The Chris Farley Show” (one of the most relatable sketches ever produced if you’ve ever interviewed a celebrity). In the sketch, an awkward Farley asks McCartney a series of awkward questions, ending with a query about the lyrics from the song “The End”: “‘In the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.’ Is that true?”

If you thought all the big musical SNL50 moments had already happened at the Radio City Music Hall Homecoming Concert on Friday, were you wrong. Simon noted he’d last song the song on SNL with George Harrison in 1976. “I was not born then,” joked Carpenter. “And neither were my parents.”
Simon may largely be retired from live performances, but it makes sense that he’d pick up the guitar for SNL50. He’s a close friend of creator Lorne Michaels, and has served as musical guest 13 times in addition to hosting on four occasions. The 50th anniversary special of "Saturday Night Live" doesn't happen until Sunday night, live at 8 p.m. Et/5 p.m. Pt on both NBC and Peacock, but the festivities kicked off early on Friday, just in time to show "SNL" some love on Valentine's Day.
Along with the recently released spectacular documentary series looking back at the history of "SNL," Peacock aired a livestream of "SNL 50: The Homecoming Concert," a star-studded event that unfolded live in New York City at Radio City Music Hall on February 14. Not only did the special event bring together some of the biggest musical acts from the five-decade history of the late night sketch comedy series, from Cher to Lady Gaga to Jack White and more, but it featured some of the show's cast members doing musical bits -- not to mention a stunning array of celebrities just having a good time watching the eclectic music line-up.

Kicking off with a tribute to the Blues Brothers from the evening’s host Jimmy Fallon, last night’s “SNL50: The Homecoming Concert” pulled out all the stops in celebrating the show’s rich musical history, as well as the influence music has had on its comedy. And though Fallon made sure to start the affair at Radio City Music Hall by pointing out that everyone in the room had some form of connection to “Saturday Night Live” and were not there as casual spectators, watching at home, its clear the production worked hard to place fans of the staple variety series right at the the center of the action as well.

“Saturday Night Live” is known for making audiences laugh for the past 50 years, but it is not complete without the iconic live music performances that have cemented their own place in pop culture.
“SNL50: The Homecoming Concert” brought together over 25 artists who made a mark on the sketch show live from Radio City Music Hall. The concert event features musical guests spanning the series’ half-century on the air.
Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Snoop Dogg and The B-52s, among many others, performed live during the homecoming concert, while “SNL” alum Jimmy Fallon hosted, featuring his own late night show’s band, The Roots.
In late January, Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson helmed a documentary, “Ladies & Gentlemen … 50 Years of SNL Music,” that sifted through the archives of the show’s musical history. The NBC documentary featured several artists that took the stage at Radio City for the in-person anniversary special.

Saturday Night Live weekend is officially in full swing, with the SNL50: The Homecoming Concert kicking off in epic fashion at Radio City Music Hall. Let’s check out some highlights!
Taking hosting duties for this start to SNL50 was Jimmy Fallon, who served as a cast member from 1998 to 2004. But Fallon went back much further than that, opening the show with an homage to The Blues Brothers, the suited up dudes played by John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd who first debuted on SNL in 1976.
Another musical throwback came soon after in the form of Nick the Lounge Singer, as reprised by Bill Murray. Other SNL recurring characters who popped in for a musical number were Will Ferrell and Ana Gasteyer’s The Culps, who did a medley of modern hits, including one by recent Super Bowl halftime performer Kendrick Lamar.

Other SNL recurring characters who popped in for a musical number were Will Ferrell and Ana Gasteyer’s The Culps, who did a medley of modern hits, including one by recent Super Bowl halftime performer Kendrick Lamar.

Heading into “SNL50: The Homecoming Concert,” it was clear that the event was going to be a celebration of all things “Saturday Night Live.” After all, it’s right there in the concert’s name. What’s more surprising is how Peacock’s Friday night concert morphed into a joyous love letter to live TV itself.
Between the scope of its performances, the truly remarkable camerawork and the confidence of an endless roster of comedians who professionally perform live, the concert captured the edge-of-a-knife feeling “SNL” has always elicited while also blowing that feeling up to its most extreme and lavish form.
The performance itself belonged to Lorne Michaels and The Roots, both of whom received so many shoutouts and thank yous, it feels silly to even keep count. But inside the room, the insider audience fought between wanting to go all out and trying to keep its cool...

The SNL 50: Homecoming Concert at Radio City Music Hall Friday was one of the starriest and genre-bending concerts in recent history.
The concert, which took place ahead of the show’s big three-hour anniversary special Sunday, saw performances from Bad Bunny, Miley Cyrus, Cher, Lady Gaga (who took took part in a musical sketch with Lonely Island and returned with a performance of “Shallow”), Nirvana, led by Post Malone, Backstreet Boys, Snoop Dog, Lauryn Hill and Wyclef, David Byrne, Arcade Fire and St. Vincent, Eddie Vedder, Devo, The White Stripes and more.
The artists who performed had a connection to SNL, as did the invite-only crowd, which was made up of those who had worked at the late night sketch show or had a connection to someone who had.
Jimmy Fallon hosted the night, kicking it off with an energetic performance honoring the Blues Brothers. But before he took the stage,...

A star-studded crowd gathered to celebrate the legacy of the iconic comedy and musical series Saturday Night Live. As part of the 50th anniversary of the show, SNL50: The Homecoming Concert saw many familiar faces from the last 50 years of the series' history both watching and performing at the event, which was hosted by Jimmy Fallon. As the night kicked off, however, no one expected to see Oscar-winner Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson storm out of the auditorium after Fallon explained that the night would not include any awards presentations. Fallon said:
“Apparently, there’s been some confusion. This is just a concert. We’re not giving out any awards tonight. So, I just want to make sure that everyone knows that.”
At that point, Hanks and his wife stood up out of their seats and stomped up the central aisle and out of the venue. Of course,...

The surviving members of Nirvana once again reunited — this time with Post Malone — at the all-star Saturday Night Live 50 concert Friday at New York’s Radio City Music Hall.

John Mulaney may have spoken best to the mostly wonderful randomness of the lineup for Friday night’s live “SNL50: The Homecoming Concert” special when, late in the show, he invoked the memory of “Saturday Night Live’s” much-missed music guru, Hal Willner. The comedian spoke about how the seminal figure in “SNL” music history would have loved many of the acts on the bill if he were still around. “He also would have hated parts of tonight, and I would have loved to talk with him about the parts he hated,” Mulaney added.
Truth be told, there wasn’t much of the nearly three-and-a-half-hour Peacock telecast that would have counted as a hate-watch for the average open-minded viewer, with the vast majority of the multiple-generation-spanning artists acquitting themselves. There were no train wrecks, although Bill Murray’s seemingly improvised schtick and a messy Post Malone/Nirvana crossover episode fell short of expectations.

SNL’s 50th anniversary concert became a dance party once again when Robyn took the stage with David Byrne to perform “Dancing On My Own.”
The pair wore matching dark khaki suits (fitting slightly better than Byrne’s usual style) and danced exuberantly with the crowd bouncing along — the kind of performance that definitely required wireless mics.
After “Dancing On My Own,” which Robyn first performed on Saturday Night Live on December 10th, 2011, the pair segued to The Talking Heads’ “This Must Be the Place (Naive Melody).” Byrne has made frequent appearances on SNL over the years: by himself, as a member of The Talking Heads, and as a special guest during John Mulaney’s “Airport Sushi” sketch.
The SNL50 concert also featured performances from Nirvana with Post Malone, Jack White, Miley Cyrus, Eddie Vedder, Fugees, The B-52s and Devo, plus Lady Gaga sang “Dick in the Box.”

Eddie Vedder was one of the early performers at Saturday Night Live’s 50th anniversary concert, but he certainly made his mark with an unforgettable two-song set featuring a cover of Tom Petty’s “The Waiting” and a nod to Elvis Costello’s infamous “Radio Radio” moment on SNL.

From there, Vedder paid homage to Costello’s iconic 1977 SNL performance, in which Costello abruptly stopped playing “Less Than Zero” and instead launched into “Radio Radio”. Vedder recreated the moment before tearing into a blistering rendition of Pearl Jam’s “Corduroy.”

Tracy Morgan took the SNL50: The Homecoming Concert stage and jokingly called out Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels for not letting him sing.
The comedian appeared during Friday’s show at Radio City Music Hall and said Michaels had disrespected him.
“Is everyone having a good time?” Morgan asked the audience, who largely cheered, adding, “Well, I’m not!”
“I’ve been disrespected!” he continued. “Lorne Michaels, you have disrespected me b*tch!”
The camera panned over to Michaels as he laughed at Morgan’s joke.
“It’s a night of great music, and nobody asked me to sing — nobody!” Morgan said. “Dis-res-pect!”
Morgan took advantage of the microphone and took the opportunity to honor the audience with his voice.

How do you possibly follow Miley Cyrus and Bad Bunny during the SNL50: The Homecoming Concert? With a classic sketch character.
SNL alum Bill Murray graced the stage Friday at Radio City Music Hall in New York City as he reprised his smooth-talking character Nick the Lounge Singer (aka Nick Valentine) from the NBC sketch comedy show, accompanied by Paul Shaffer on piano.
Following a humorous monologue about “an increasing acceptance of different types of families, different types of relationships,” before introducing “three of the most beautiful ladies a man could ever hope to meet.”
Murray, who created the character during his 1977-1980 run as an SNL castmember, was then joined by fellow alums Ana Gasteyer, Maya Rudolph and Cecily Strong in ’60s chic backup singer attire, accompanying him with a performance of Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell’s “You’re All I Need to Get By.”

Jimmy Fallon had the honor to kick things off at the SNL50: The Homecoming Concert in celebration of NBC’s late-night sketch show.
Fallon took the Radio City Music Hall stage Friday alongside The Roots to pay tribute to The Blues Brothers, the sketch starring John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd that inspired the 1980 film and a sequel in 1998 titled Blues Brothers 2000.
Following the performance, Fallon revealed he was “out of breath” and thanked the “collection of talent” who attended the homage.
“I thought this was sweet. Where you’re seated is based on how much Lorne [Michaels] loves you,” Fallon joked.
Fallon continued, “I was so honored when the assistant to Lorne’s assistant, asked me to host tonight.”
The Tonight Show host then took a jab at himself, answering why he was hosting the special, saying, “Well, it’s award season, which means I got nothing going on right now.
