It seems like everyone has a podcast these days. We have Deep Space Nine's Cirroc Lofton's 7th Rule podcast, The Delta Flyers', hosted by Voyager stars Garrett Wang and Robert Duncan McNeil. There's also the D-Con Chamber podcast, hosted by Enterprise stars Dominic Keating and Connor Trinneer. There's a podcast for everyone and thanks to Gates McFadden, that remains true.
Each of the above podcasts serve a unique purpose. The 7th Rule talks a lot about Deep Space Nine, among other current Trek-topics. The Delta Flyers was an episode review podcast built around Voyager but shifted ears to Deep Space Nine after Voyager ended. The D-Con Chamber podcast focuses more on Star Trek stars, while being morer of a "late-night show" for Trek fans.

Scott Bakula played Captain Jonathan Archer, the first captain of the starship Enterprise, on Star Trek: Enterprise for four seasons. Though his time in the role was short, there are many fans still devoted to the show and to Captain Archer. For a while, Bakula was quiet about his time on Star Trek, but he's recently been speaking out more as he did when in an interview with Guardian. [via Trekmovie]
It was a blast. It was a great privilege. The icing on the cake is to get to know [William] Shatner and Patrick [Stewart] and and Kate [Mulgrew] and everybody. On "Star Trek: Enterprise," the character of Ensign Hoshi Sato, played by actress Linda Park, served as the communications officer on board the titular ship. "Enterprise" takes place a century before the events of the original "Star Trek" series, so the franchise's notorious universal translator hadn't yet been refined, leaving human translators like Hoshi to fill in the gaps. Hoshi had a talent for xenolinguistics, but didn't quite have the constitution for long-range space missions or combat situations. She was young and inexperienced, and had to constantly face her anxieties head-on. As the show progressed, Hoshi came into her own, displaying more and more confidence.
The problem with characters that can be defined as "young and inexperienced" is that eventually they will have to become adult and experienced. They will then require other character traits to define them ... and TV writers don't always think that far ahead. Many of the...

Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2001. The night Enterprise, later to be named Star Trek: Enterprise, premiered with “Broken Bow.” I didn’t get to see it that night, probably since it was a school night and I was 10. I taped it on VHS and watched it with my mom a day or so later. We both enjoyed it well enough.
Until we got to a certain scene.
The crew was just attacked on an alien planet. The plot was ramping up. But first? Trip (Connor Trinneer) and T’Pol (Jolene Blalock) strip down to their underwear and lather each other up with gel. I never get to know why because my mom made me fast forward through the scene, feeling it was, “inappropriate.” We got to the next scene and resumed watching, never speaking of the “inappropriate” scene again. I didn’t rewatch “Broken Bow” until earlier this year and finally got to watch the forbidden scene.

Oh no, not the decontamination chamber.
When "Star Trek: Enterprise" debuted in 2001, there was a conscious effort by the showrunners to work in as much brazen sex appeal as they could. Noticeably, the casting directors hired Jolene Blalock, who had worked as a professional model, to play the Vulcan First Officer T'Pol, and the costume designers were careful to outfit her in skin-tight body suits. She was clearly meant to replicate Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan) from "Star Trek: Voyager."
"Enterprise" was set about a century prior to the original "Star Trek," and some of the more popular "Trek" tech hadn't been invented yet. As such, when a team of officers returned from an away mission, they had to spend a long span in a decontamination chamber. In later other "Trek" shows, the transporters took care of contaminants and idle spores an away mission might have accumulated. On "Enterprise," officers...

Spoilers for "Star Trek: Lower Decks" follow.
At the beginning of the second episode of the fourth season of "Star Trek: Lower Decks," called "I Have No Bones Yet I Must Flee," senior officers Commander Ransom (Jerry O'Connell) and Lieutenant Shaxs (Fred Tatasciore) are working out in the gym of the U.S.S. Cerritos. They mention that to explore the galaxy and counter tyranny, they must remain flexible. Shaxs grunts and strains, while the frustratingly fit Ransom goads him on. They engage in unusual stretching maneuvers, employing some kind of bizarre futuristic yoga into their routine. Most unsettling are their outfits. Ransom wears a blue body stocking with a purple one-piece swimsuit over it. The swimsuit has cutouts in the chest area to accentuate his pecs. Shaxs wears a forest green body stocking with a burgundy singlet stretched on top. His pecs, too, are allowed a little "window" for accentuation.

"Star Trek" sure knows how to celebrate in style. Star Trek Day usually tends to be a huge deal, but this year has all the makings of a can't-miss event for Trekkies both old and new. We recently brought you the news of all the planned festivities and how to enjoy them either online or even in person, but that's not all that this venerated franchise has hidden up its sleeve. Ever since Jonathan Frakes played the first officer of the USS Enterprise-d Will Riker, Frakes has gone on to appear in almost every Star Trek series since, albeit as transporter accident-spawned clone Thomas Riker in Deep Space Nine. Usually, fans love to see the adventurous Riker swing into a guest appearance on another series. But that wasn’t the case when Riker and Deanna Troi (Marina Sirtis) showed up in the series finale of Star Trek: Enterprise.
“It was sold as, ‘Oh, come on and do the episode, it will be a Valentine to the fans,’” Frakes told Variety when recalling his appearance in that show’s series finale. As the last episode in a continuous run of Star Trek series that began with Star Trek: The Next Generation in 1987, the Enterprise finale “These Are the Voyages…” sought to connect the end to the beginning. "Star Trek: Enterprise" struggled throughout its four-season run. A prequel set in the 22nd century, before the Federation's founding, the series often felt like "Star Trek" was stuck in the past in more ways than one. The first two seasons hardly broke from the typical "Trek" formula despite the unfamiliar setting and the show bled viewership. Shake-ups in seasons 3 and 4 weren't enough to save the series. "Enterprise" was the first "Star Trek" since the original to not reach seven seasons and it put the franchise on hiatus, cementing its black sheep reputation. It didn't help that the series finale, "These Are The Voyages..." was a clunker.
The episode is centered around "Star Trek: The Next Generation" episode, "The Pegasus." In that episode, Will Riker's (Jonathan Frakes) former commanding officer Admiral Pressman (Terry O'Quinn) comes to the Enterprise to lead a recovery mission of his old ship, the source of the episode's title.

On "Star Trek: Enterprise," John Billingsley played Dr. Phlox, the chief medical officer on board the titular ship. "Enterprise" took place a century prior to the events of the original "Star Trek," and was about Earth's very first ship to undergo a mission to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations. It was a time before starship shields were invented, before transporters were safe to use on living beings, and before the Prime Directive. It was also before Earth had come into contact with a great number of alien species, making the Enterprise crew almost entirely human. Serving on the bridge was the Vulcan T'Pol (Jolene Blalock) and serving as the ship's doctor was the Denobulan Phlox.
Dr. Phlox is one of the more fascinating characters in all of "Star Trek." Denobulans hadn't been introduced until "Enterprise," and he provided an entire new culture to explore.

I say at last, but I’m not sure it was at the top of anyone’s list of movie treasure troves. Star Trek: Enterprise is probably the worst live-action show in the franchise. Despite boasting Scott Bakula as Captain Archer and the great core concept of showing the first forays of mankind into the wider galaxy, it never found its feet (and it had an absolutely terrible opening song). The series attempted to switch things up in the third and fourth seasons by focusing more on action, but it failed to convince audiences and was unceremoniously cancelled in 2005.
The legacy of Enterprise was explored in a virtual panel at last week’s Galaxy Con Live, in which Enterprise stars John Billingsley, Connor Trinneer and Dominic Keating discussed what did and didn’t work. Billingsley, in particular, didn’t mince words when it came to casting blame, saying the show’s flaws were the fault of the producers and network.

The individuals they find at the Lunar Base are not who they appear to be and, through acts of trickery and deception, nearly succeed in killing them. Soon the astronauts find themselves trying to save the Earth from Plant Aliens!
Additional co-stars include Michael Madsen, and Gilbert Gottfried, with cameos from Robert Davi,...

The Purge Season 2 Episode 8
Perhaps someone smarter than me could watch the second season of The Purge and determine just what Ryan's end-game is. Perhaps someone with a better sense for the big picture saw that shift in allegiance coming. I'm clearly not that person.
Throughout the second season of The Purge, I had assumed that Ryan's big mission on Purge Night really was a cash grab, and that all the twists and turns along the way were simply complications of a pretty simple plan. As it turns out, Ryan's actual secret plot goes right over my head, like how Ben's insanity went unnoticed and unknown by his frat brothers until it was far too late.

The Purge Season 2 Episode 2
The Purge has traditionally been concerned with that 12-hour period of mayhem and nothing else. There might be a little preparation beforehand as people flee the cities and lock themselves behind strong doors, but for the most part, what happens after the Purge has never been addressed before now. What happens to all the bodies? Who puts out all the fires? How crazy would hospitals be in the wake of an all-night fiesta of violence?
The answer to all these questions are revealed in “Everything Is Fine,” which is an episode title that doubles as a mantra for the various survivors of the previous night's Purging. For most people, the day after the Purge seems to be a time to forget that the previous day ever happened.

Dozens Of ‘Star Trek’ Actors Converge For Snoop Dogg’s Parody Pic ‘Unbelievable’ – Watch The Trailer
It’s a Trekkie delight. No idea why so many Star Trek actors thought this was a great idea, but they did. Snoop Dogg seems to be the furthest thing away from sci-fi as you can get, but he’s one of the stars Unbelievable, a parody film that uses a puppet for James T. Kirk. Watch the trailer for below.
The original score was written/composed by Emmy-winning, Oscar-nominated Gerald Fried — the last living composer from the original Star Trek series.
Snoop Dogg executive produced the film from writer-director Steven Fawcette that also stars Nichelle Nichols (who also co-produced), Angelique Fawcette (also a producer), Michael Madsen and Robert Davi. Also in the film are Casper Smart, Sam Asghari, Gilbert Gottfried and newcomer Katarina Van Derham.

MGM has released a fantastic new full trailer for their upcoming Stargate: Origins series and it looks like it's going to be spectacularly fun! I love the tone of this as it has that adventurous Indiana Jones tone and spirit that a lot of fans enjoy. The trailer features lots of new footage an additional detail on the story that the series will tell. Here's the synopsis:
In 1939, Professor Paul Langford and his daughter Catherine are still grappling with the mysteries of the ancient relic they discovered in the Egyptian desert more than ten years ago. With war looming in Europe and funding running out, these brilliant minds are approaching their lowest ebb. Little do they know, answers are about to present themselves in a dangerous form, when the Nazi Occultist Dr. Wilhelm Brücke approaches their facility with a sinister motive.Enlisting the help of two young soldiers, Catherine must...

We've already seen a vague teaser trailer and a behind-the-scenes featurette for this new Stargate: Origins series. But today we have a new trailer and it offers us our best look yet at what this show is going to be like and it looks pretty cool! It has a very Indiana Jones kind of vibe to it and I love that!

“Stargate” fans have something to live for again. The first teaser for “Stargate Origins,” the new prequel series for the franchise, dropped on Wednesday and the fresh footage will give you plenty to pick apart over the holidays. Oh, and they revealed a premiere date too. Viveca Lindfors and Kelly Vint Castro played the Catherine in the original 1994 movie from director Roland Emmerich....

"All this is legal?" "If you're doing it for the good guys..." Universal has unveiled the first official trailer for a film titled American Made, about a pilot recruited by the CIA to be a drug runner in the 1980s. Tom Cruise stars, and I guess I should say "taking him back to his Top Gun roots as a pilot" which is obvious, this time playing Barry Seal, telling his crazy stories as a skilled pilot. This looks pretty damn cool, and it's an intriguing follow-up for Cruise reuniting with Edge of Tomorrow director Doug Liman again. The full cast includes Domhnall Gleeson in another unique role, plus Caleb Landry Jones, Jesse Plemons, Jayma Mays, Sarah Wright, Lola Kirke, Connor Trinneer, Alejandro Edda, Benito Martinez. This looks like a fun can't-believe-it's-real story, and Cruise seems to be enjoying himself as well. See below. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for Doug Liman's American Made,...

ReCore, which made waves at E3 2015, is finally set to release in just a couple weeks. To celebrate and get gamers prepped, the developers have revealed the title's launch trailer which shows off new characters, gameplay, and story elements. Come inside to check it out!
I remember at last year's E3, one of the games our team talked about most was ReCore. Though we only had a cinematic trailer to enjoy, it certainly piqued our (and most gamers') interests. Now, we're only a little over a week away before we can get our hands on it, and it continues to look fun with the launch trailer:

Is it just us, or is ReCore not getting the attention that it perhaps deserves? Ever since being announced at last year’s E3, only a handful of trailers and snippets of gameplay have been released by Microsoft in the lead-up to release, leaving many in the dark as to the finer details of the brand new intellectual property.
Thankfully, with the Xbox One and Windows 10 exclusive just two weeks away from release, Microsoft has released a launch trailer for Armature Studios’ enigmatic adventure, providing some much-needed story details and gameplay.
Billed as an action-adventure title with a generous helping of platforming elements, ReCore details the life of Joule Adams, a scavenger of sorts, who is accompanied by a handful of ‘Corebot’ companions in her quest to “bring new life and hope” to a desolate world.

The Las Vegas Star Trek convention may the biggest but ‘Destination Star Trek’ is fast becoming the European equivalent and this year it has moved from London to Frankfurt, Germany.
A number of the Star Trek alumni are in attendance but the highlights are William Shatner and Karl Urban who are the headline guests. William Shatner is also scheduled to moderate a Next Generation cast reunion.
The Next Generation cast have spent most of the last two years having reunions at various events across the globe, mainly thanks to the 25th Anniversary of the show (they should really start calling them a Tng gathering); it will be interesting to see William Shatner interact with the cast even if Patrick Stewart is not on the bill.

The voyage continues for the brave first crew of the Enterprise. It’s a bit disheartening as modern audiences (such as me) discover what a good show it was (although still some clunker episodes) now that the voyage is over. Sheppard (Joe Flanigan) and Teyla (Rachel Luttrell) share wine and dinner and she likes to be spend time alone with him, as does he with her; well who wouldn't want to get Sheppard alone?!! She didn't thank him for rescuing her from Michael (Connor Trinneer) and he doesn't remember that rescue, cos it never happened, at least not yet anyway. Ford (Rainbow Sun Francks) tells him he didn't rescue her; Sheppard bleeds, he was hallucinating and wakes up next to Ronan (Jason Momoa). That must have been a shock to him, as he was already in shock from his injuries. They have been buried after the explosion at Michael's compound. Sheppard seeing Ford in such a moment was his guilt on display cos he wasn't able to save him either. They've been separated from Rodney (David Hewlett) and Lorne (Kavan Smith). The Daedalus is on its way to help. Rodney...

Thanks for the break guys – it's almost like you don't need me at all. But you're stuck with me.
Just as news breaks that Hung was canceled, Thomas Jane makes the news again, "correcting" his months-old quote about sandwiches that everyone took to mean he'd turned a few gay tricks for cash in his youth. "In the interviews that I did, I never said I was a prostitute. I was talking about my [early] time in Hollywood: I said that I’d had a sexually adventurous time and I was trying to relate that to how I play a prostitute on TV." Maybe next time don't imply something obvious and end the quote with "Know what I mean?" because obviously no one does. I feel used and dirty, like he managed the press to cover his bigoted prior remarks. I'll never watch anything he does again.
Lars Von Trier isn't know for subtlety.

The Captains Written and Directed by: William Shatner Starring: William Shatner, Patrick Stewart, Avery Brooks, Kate Mulgrew, Scott Bakula, Chris Pine The Captains is a documentary made for fans of Star Trek. It features interviews with the actors who starred as starship captains in the Star Trek franchise. What makes this Star Trek documentary unique is that it was written and directed by William Shatner, the second actor to play a starship captain. (Shatner replaced the first actor as captain, Jeffrey Hunter, who starred in only the pilot episode of Star Trek. Hunter has gone on to the final frontier, and so was not contacted for an interview.) Also the interviews were conducted by Shatner, who appears on-screen with his interviewees. On viewing this documentary, it soon becomes apparent that its focus is not on Star Trek, but rather on Shatner himself. I confess. I am a lapsed Trekkie. I...
