Brother of Ganden Thurman, Uma Thurman and Mipam Thurman and the son of Nena Thurman and Robert Thurman.

Graduated from Harvard University with a degree in Literature and Theater Arts.

Plays Guildenstern in Hamlet (2000). His former brother-in-law, Gary Oldman, played Quildentern's friend Rosencrantz in Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead (1990).

Former brother-in-law of Ethan Hawke.

His mother Nena Thurman is Mexican of German, Swedish, and Danish descent.
