With Dragon Ball Z Kai sadly finishing up its run on Cartoon Network's Toonami programming block, viewers have been wondering for some time now about what might happen with the time slot. While it was speculated that Kai might begin to loop and start again, it seems that Cartoon Network has other plans -- specifically, for One Pieceanime fans.

Previously, the Cn News/Schedules account on X (formerly Twitter) had reported that Dragon Ball Z Kai would be looping back to episode one, hinting at Toonami only having the rights to the first 47 episodes of Kai. However, it seems plans have changed, with the same account reporting that the scheduling changes have gone in a different direction. The scheduling change was also backed up by an Adult Swim news X account, as seen below.

Toei Animation's popular One Piece anime series has revealed an official first look at its Los Angeles Lakers merchandise, exclusive to its upcoming crossover event this February.

Toei Animation's One Piece anime series returns to the Boston Red Sox's Fenway Park for another crossover night, promising cosplay, experiences and limited-edition merchandise this coming May.

Burger King is allowing fans of the globally popular One Piece anime to 'have it their way' with some new, tasty meals. The collaboration with Toei Animation sees meals featuring the beloved One Piece characters Luffy and Sanji, each of whom have received their own distinct burger.

Major fast food chain Burger King recently announced the One Piece collaboration via its official social media. According to the posts, seen below, the limited-time release began in Switzerland on Dec. 30, 2024 and will continue until Feb. 2, 2025. The same collaboration is also currently taking place in Ireland. On brand with the One Piece anime, the collaboration has been called the "Home of the Boat Whopper" and features new meals based on the fan-favorite characters Sanji and Luffy.

Pokémon is taking franchise fans back to the early '90s for a healthy dose of childhood nostalgia, dropping over 50 episodes of its original anime series for free streaming right in time for the holidays.

The Pokémon TV YouTube channel is now streaming the anime's first season, Pokémon: Indigo League, adding over 50 episodes since the series' debut on the channel just 10 days ago. Not only are fans set to have the entire first season in mere days, but Indigo League is also streaming in multiple languages, including English, Arabic, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, German, Hebrew, Italian, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Portuguese (Portugal), Spanish (Latin America), Spanish (Spain), and Swedish subbed and dubbed. Significant changes to how the Pokémon anime can be watched have occurred throughout 2024. While the Pokémon TV app once served as a free means to watch full episodes, movies, clips and more, it was shut down and de-listed from all platforms this past March -- until now.

The Pokémon TV app had been active for over a decade, first launching in 2010 and gaining a significant following since then, with a reported 467,000 active users at the end of 2023. Prior to March 2024, fans had the option to download it from their choice of the App Store, Google Play, Roku Channel Store, Pokémon.com, the Nintendo Switch eShop or the Amazon Appstore. However, following its previously announced closure, The Pokémon Company has announced that as of Dec. 6, 2024, Pokémon TV will be relaunched as a YouTube channel.

Long streaming for free on Crunchyroll, the majority of Toei Animation's popular One Piece anime series will now head behind Crunchyroll's Premium membership to provide paying fans with a better experience.

Via IGN and X (formerly Twitter), Crunchyroll announced that it will begin to move the majority of the One Piece anime behind its Premium membership tier starting Dec. 23, 2024. From that date, the Water 7, Thriller Bark, Summit War and Fishman Island arcs (Episodes 207 to 574) will become paywalled, followed by the Punk Hazard, Dressrosa, Zou and Whole Cake Island arcs, plus an additional six specials (Episodes 575 to 878), on Jan. 20, 2025. Finally, the Reverie, Wano and Egghead arcs (Episodes 878 to present) will also be paywalled beginning Feb. 17.

The legendary crossover special between One Piece, Dragon Ball, and Toriko is finally available for streaming on Netflix. In 2013, the third in a series of crossover specials between One Piece and Toriko aired, and as an added bonus, Dragon Ball was thrown into the mix as well, likely to tie into Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, making for one of the biggest anime crossovers in recent memory.

Due to licensing issues surrounding Toei Animation's Toriko, the crossover special, officially One Piece episode #590, is infamously hard to watch through legal means, but its finally gotten easier. In a surprise announcement from Toei Animation, One Piece episode #590 i.e. the crossover between One Piece, Dragon Ball, and Toriko is now streaming on Netflix for the first time, marking the first time its been available in both English and Japanese.

Pokmon fans have been at a loss as to how best to watch the anime following the shutdown of Pokmon TV earlier this year, but finally, the series has found a new home on PlutoTV. The Pokmon Fast Channel is going live on the free PlutoTV app beginning October 22, 2024.

The new channel will feature select episodes from 22 of the series' 25 seasons, including the original Indigo League, Adventures in the Orange Islands, Johto Journeys, Johto League Champions, and Master Quest. Since the shutdown of Pokmon TV, many of these seasons haven't been available for streaming legally anywhere, making it exceptionally difficult for fans of the series to revisit their favorite episodes. The Pokmon Company previously offered a complex chart of where to find certain seasons of the anime, but PlutoTV's new channel will radically simplify viewing the classic series.

The long-running episodic anime series One Piece has announced a shocking delay to its current "Egghead" arc, marking the first delay of this degree in its history.

The One Piece anime's current "Egghead" arc will resume in April 2025, as announced via the Eiichiro Oda staff's X (formerly Twitter). Further details were revealed during the One Piece News broadcast on YouTube, which announced that a special-edited version of the "Fishman Island" arc will air in place of "Egghead" until its return. Many fans of the Pokmon anime have longed to see its characters actually get a chance to grow up, but as it turns out, at least one character has had the honor of being shown as an adult in official media--or so it seemed. However, this appearance really only raised more questions than answers, as the scene it comes from remains an absolute mystery.

In one of the first ads for Pokmon the Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back, the trailer begins with a scene of two adults and a child watching clouds in the sky, which happen to look like Pokmon. One of these adults happens to strongly resemble an adult version of Misty, which has prompted mountains of speculation as to just what exactly the context of this scene might have been. No such scene appears in the final version of the movie, nor is there even a moment which resembles that scene.

Ash and Pikachu's relationship is at the core of the Pokmon anime, and it might seem as if the pair were brought together entirely by chance. However, one Pokmon movie accidentally provided another reason as to why Pikachu ended up with Ash, and it actually involves time travel.

The fourth Pokmon movie, Pokmon 4Ever, also known as Celebi: Voice of the Forest, revolves around the time-traveling Mythical Pokmon Celebi, who in the course of the film brings forward in time a young boy by the name of Sam. Sam meets Ash and his friends, and together they embark on a quest to protect Celebi from a Team Rocket agent who wields powerful and dangerous Pok Balls that can control almost any Pokmon. Of course, Ash and friends do manage to save Celebi from Team Rocket, and Celebi then takes Sam back to his own time.

It is no secret within the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime fandom that Seto Kaiba is the coolest character in the franchise. From his style and skill to his intellect and attitude, Kaiba is unarguably a top-tier duelist. However, as proven by one impressive accomplishment in the anime, Kaiba is actually even cooler without Duel Monsters.

Seto Kaiba made his debut in the first episode of Yu-Gi-Oh!, and initially, he was a villain. Kaiba challenged Yugi’s grandfather, Solomon, to a duel and beat him, thereby winning the old man’s Blue-Eyes White Dragon card, and pushing him to suffer a heart attack due to the stress of the situation. Not only was Kaiba an abhorrent human for terrorizing an old man like this, but he took things one step further by tearing up Solomon’s card right in front of him, even after knowing how important the Blue-Eyes White Dragon is to Yugi and his family.
