Tim's trademark tattoo, the crossed arrows representing the Native American symbol for friendship, makes a cameo in every one of his directorial efforts. In 2001 maniacos (2005), it is on the upper arm of Ricky (Brian Gross); In Visiones del más allá (2006), it is the character of Dean (Russell Sams) who bears the mark; In 2001 Maniacs: Field of Screams (2010), it is on the upper arm of Falcon (Trevor Wright). In Chillerama (2011), it is on Sullivan himself in the role of Coach Tuffman.

His name and picture can be seen on a "Wanted Poster" in the police station scene of Jeepers Creepers (2001). The film's storyboard artist, Brad Parker, is a friend of Tim's and was responsible for this much sighted cameo.
