It has been well over two years since “Magazine Dreams” made its world premiere at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival. Following its premiere, the movie received largely mixed reviews but most critics were quick to heap praise on the performance given by its star, Jonathan Majors. It was subsequently picked up by Searchlight Pictures, which originally slated it to be released on December 8, 2023 — likely targeting a potential awards campaign for Majors.
The actor was caught up, however, in a domestic assault scandal in March 2023 that tarnished his previously shining, fast-rising star profile. Searchlight later dropped “Magazine Dreams,” reportedly due to both Majors’ assault case and the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike. Briarcliff Entertainment has since acquired the film’s distribution rights, though, and it is now on the verge of finally being released.

After his exit from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (and subsequent legal troubles), Jonathan Majors has been looking to get his acting career back on track. It begins with the release of his newest movie, Magazine Dreams, which drops in theaters on March 21.
Days ahead of the movie's premiere, Magazine Dreams garnered its debut Rotten Tomatoes score with its early reviews by critics. The film has a Certified Fresh score of 84%, which is one of the best-rated films of Majors' career. The former MCU star's performance in particular is getting big praise from many critics, with some suggesting he'd likely have been up for an Oscar for his role if not for his real-life controversies.
As Silver Screen Riot critic Matt Oakes stated, "In another multiverse, Majors could have won an Academy Award for his work here. In this one, it may end up being the tragic capstone on a too-short career.

In 2022, James Clayton directed Bullet Proof, his first feature film which, unfortunately, was met with more than a few unkind words from critics. Starring Clayton as The Thief, the movie also featured the talents of Vinnie Jones, Lina Lecompte, and Philip Granger, who all banded together to create what this writer believes is a fun, action-packed adventure, despite what the detractors say. Now, two years later, it seems a lot of people agree, as the film has risen to the top of the global charts over on Paramount+.
Per FlixPatrol, Bullet Proof has taken the top spot on the streaming service in 18 countries, including Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, and Venezuela, to name a few. The plot revolves around Clayton’s character pulling off the heist of a lifetime when he robs the psychotic drug lord, Temple (Jones), only to discover a stowaway in his getaway car – Temple's pregnant wife, Mia (Lecompte...

This review was originally published on August 31, 2024, as a part of our Venice Film Festival coverage.
The Order is about hate, though not quite in the way you'd expect. It seems an obvious theme, given the story follows a white supremacist terrorist cell and the FBI's effort to stop them, and some space is given to the hateful doctrine they live by. But the movie is less interested in hate ideologically as it is in the feeling. And director Justin Kurzel is less interested in explaining that feeling than he is in observing it and its effects. Surround that goal with across-the-board quality, and you have a consistently tense crime thriller that leaves a lasting mark.

Lovers of true crime and action movies alike can look forward to lots of options for watching The Order. This tense historical crime thriller stars Jude Law as an FBI agent fighting a militant white-supremacist group called "The Order." With an Oscar-nominated screenwriter (Zach Baylin) and a premise based on a true story from the 1980s, The Order has earned an 86% on Rotten Tomatoes. Early reviews are making a good case for its potential to succeed.
The movie places Jude Law in the lead role of Terry Husk, a real-life person who worked as an FBI agent. Jude Law's newest film may technically be a period piece loosely based on a true story from the past, but its resonance feels eerily prescient for the present, as well. And that may not be totally coincidental, as The Order's director Justin Kurzel recently revealed how the January 6 insurrection inspired the Neo-Nazi crime thriller.
In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Kurzel broke down how the visuals from the day showed him just how relevant the story he was telling was to modern times. As Kurzel put it, "There were just so many similarities to what was going on within this incredible script Zach had written that I just found it so compelling and wanted to find a way into it that I felt could be a wonderful first American film."
He added, "I was really surprised that I was reading a period piece that was speaking so...

Tracker season 1, episode 3, "Springland" finds Colter Shaw (Justin Hartley) working on another missing person case, this time near Cascade, Idaho. The first season of Tracker premiered on CBS in March 2024 and ended up being something of a surprise hit, thanks in part to its premiere airing right after Super Bowl Lviii. Season 1 starts with Colter just beginning to get used to the team he's assembling while also dealing with the fallout of his father's death, which occurred before the show began. Terrifier's cult fan base will be pleased to know that the saga doesn't end in Terrifier 3. Director Damien Leone delivers on his promise of another sequel, and he's keeping the door open for more installments to the franchise.
Director Damien Leone said his long-term vision for Terrifier doesn't go beyond Terrifier 5, but he's holding out hope for many more sequels. "There is no definitive answer at this time regarding how many more films I will make before concluding the Terrifier saga," he told Variety. "Personally, I can't see it going further than one or two more films, but only time will tell." Art the Clown's rampage could go on indefinitely as proven by his repeated rebirths and resurrections, and it's easy to imagine the Terrifier series spawning a franchise of spinoff films, or even a TV series. Actor David Howard Thornton is making his mark on the horror genre with his continued portrayal of Art the Clown. Terrifier 3 is currently the king of the box office, even knocking the Joker sequel down into the No. 2 spot, but that's not the only connection between Art the Clown and the Clown Prince of Crime.
On the social media platform Threads, the Art actor shared a meme acknowledging how "inspiring" it is that he is starring in a film that took the box office crown from Joker: Folie Deux, as this comes years after Thornton actually played the Joker in online fan films. Coincidentally, Thornton also happened to be cast as Art the Clown and the Joker in the very same week, nearly a decade before Terrifier 3 battled Joker: Folie Deux at the box office. This story contains Major Spoilers for Terrifier 3.
Terrifier creator and director Damien Leone confirms that the latest film's final kill sequence was originally far more brutal.
Speaking to ScreenRant, Leone opened up about how Terrifier 3's portrayal of the death of Gabbie's mother "was supposed to be way worse." As Leone explained, "I actually wound up trimming it a lot where the shots that you do see are almost subliminal and everything is so fast. But even still, it's just the idea of what's happening is so cruel and gruesome, so I'm glad that it worked."

"Old friend of mine used to say: 'get fast, get gone.' Means never linger on a job..." Well Go USA debuted the full trailer for an intense action movie called Get Fast, arriving on VOD in November to watch. This one is skipping theaters and this trailer will show you exactly why – not much to see. This "high-octane" action thriller is directed by James Clayton, who also co-stars in it. After a heist goes wrong, a thief and a troubled orphan must rescue his kidnapped partner from a ruthless drug lord and her charming hitman. With guns, cars, and explosions, their escape is a high-stakes race against time. But does it have anything to enjoy that we haven't seen before in countless other action movies? Get Fast stars Lou Diamond Phillips, Bradley Stryker, James Clayton, Alisha-Marie Ahamed, Fei Ren, and Lee Majdoub. This looks pretty bad, especially when you notice how fake everything looks,...

Terrifier 3, the third film in director Damien Leone's ultra-gory Terrifier trilogy, once again depicts the worst possible things that could happen to its characters and refuses to blink. Set five years after Terrifier 2's ending, then only a few days, then back to five years in a series of confusing and disjointed opening sequences, Terrifier 3 finds Sienna Shaw (Lauren Laver) being pulled out of a mental health hospital she's been in since her violent, and theoretically victorious, confrontation with Art the Clown (David Howard Thornton) in the previous film.

The Devil in Ohio ending is a disquieting close to the Netflix miniseries, and some aspects may need to be explained for the story's full impact to be clear. Based on the book by Daria Polatin, the eight episodes of the 2022 miniseries followed hospital psychiatrist Suzanne Mathis (Emily Deschanel), a mother of three whose home life is slowly breaking down. Enter a mysterious runaway who arrives at the hospital, Mae (Madeleine Arthur). Mae is quiet and fiercely intelligent and immediately makes a bond with Suzanne. Suzanne brings Mae home and the young woman's horrifying backstory is unveiled.
Devil in Ohio features a strong cast of actors and an intriguing story about a cult who takes any measure to retrieve what they've lost. Jude Law's latest film, The Order, received a seven-minute standing ovation at the Venice International Film Festival and promises to be one of the best movies of the year. David Howard Thornton returns as Art the Clown in Damien Leone’s ultragory horror flick. Here’s the Terrifier 3 trailer.
If you aren’t familiar with the Terrifier films, the basic premise is that Art, a sadistic, supernatural clown played by David Howard Thornton, enjoys inflicting pain to others in increasingly bizarre, gruesome ways. It’s pretty simple, but weirdly enjoyable, too.
After debuting in anthology horror All Hallows Eve, writer and director Damien Leone made Thornton the star of Terrifier, swifly followed by Terrifier 2. Word of mouth, mainly discussing the horrific violence which was so extreme it allegedly made some viewers faint, ensured the films made hefty profits on modest budgets.
This brings us to Terrifier 3 which, thanks to its festive setting, you will soon be able to put on your shelf next to other Christmas classics like Home Alone and Violent Night.

Art the Clown is back in Terrifier 3. Here’s the new teaser trailer to prove it – which, fair warning, contains a bit of gore.
The Christmas-themed Terrifier 3 has writer and director Damien Leone and producer Phil Falcone back behind the camera, with David Howard Thornton reprising his role as Art The Clown. The trailer gives brief glimpses of what to expect, but suffice it to say that it looks to be more violent night than silent night.

Art the Clown is set to unleash chaos on the unsuspecting residents of Miles County as they peacefully drift off to sleep on Christmas Eve. Bradley Stryker and Justin Hartley in ‘Tracker’ episode 3
Colter (Justin Hartley) heads to the sleepy little town of Springland on the way to a job as CBS’s Tracker episode three gets underway. After a brief check-in with Velma (Abby McEnany), Teddi (Robin Weigert), and their adorable Corgi about his next job locating a vintage Shelby Cobra, Colter pops into a restaurant for a quick bite.
There’s a bit of a ruckus in the restaurant when diners spot a woman leaving flyers on the cars in the parking lot. A waitress warns him not to get involved, but of course, Colter doesn’t listen. He steps in as a male diner confronts the woman, and the angry dude decides a verbal warning isn’t enough. He pulls out a knife and slits Colter’s front tire.
The man’s friends arrive to back him up, and he mistakenly believes that Colter will stop interfering.

Elijah Bynum didn’t want to look the man in the eye. No one at the gym did. He was massive, a bodybuilder who inspired fear because of his size.
“No one wanted to be caught in his path, I think because he made us uncomfortable,” says Bynum of the feeling of his fellow gym patrons.
It was relatively early in the pandemic. Bynum had been thinking a lot about isolation, and wanted to craft a character forgotten by society. When he saw how people avoided this bodybuilder, something clicked: “You have an individual who is both feared and invisible — because of everyone around him. And I thought it was a really peculiar way for someone to move through the world.”
That was the genesis of Magazine Dreams, the new feature that debuted at Sundance last month and took home the creative vision jury prize. It is earning rave reviews for Jonathan Majors,...

"Who the hell are they?!" Paramount has revealed an official trailer for a mystery thriller titled Disquiet, the latest from a filmmaker named Michael Winnick. This is another one of these low quality films being dumped on VOD, so many of them dropping everywhere nowadays. The direct-to-video supernatural thriller about a man trapped in a hospital with no exits trying to escape the mysterious beings trapped in there with him. He's haunted by "sinister forces that have no intention of letting him leave." Jonathan Rhys Meyers stars as Sam, along with Rachelle Goulding, Elyse Levesque, Lochlyn Munro, Garry Chalk, Trezzo Mahoro, Anita Brown, and Bradley Stryker. This looks so bad, it's not even worthy of being described as "made for TV" quality, it's even worse than that, folks. Ugh why are there so many films like this recently. ›››
