In addition to Ilonzeh, Houston and Mena, the cast includes Erica Pinkett, Drew Sidora, Ken Lawson, Claudia Jordan and Obba Babatunde.

Run follows Melissa after she leaves her fiancé Andre at the alter, and her best friends convince her to go to a cabin on a much-needed “girls trip” to get her mind off things. But things take a huge turn when their friend Jenny is found mutilated in the middle of the woods. When the news announces an all-out alien attack on the nation, the girls will have to try their best to survive.

Happy Anniversary is a new high-stakes thriller from Tubi that features a strong cast of actors led by LA'Myia Good, Anthony Dalton II, and O'Shea Russell. 

Directed by Chris Stokes, Happy Anniversary follows a woman who uses different identities to seek revenge against the men who took advantage of her when she was young.

There’s something delightful about a young child swearing. It feels inherently wrong, but in the proper circumstances, it can be a great source of humor and shock.

That’s how it plays in writer/director Christopher B. Stokes’s new Tubi film, Adopted (2024). The “bad seed” narrative follows 10 year old Dylan (Jayden Aguirre), who’s killing his current foster family in the cold open. The case is investigated by Detective Dante Miller (Marques Houston), but Dylan is so convincing at playing the innocent victim that his outlandish story about a killer biker is immediately accepted as fact.

Steven Littles (The Prisoner’s Daughter) has signed with Bailey Rae Harrison at Exclusive Artists Agency.

Littles recently appeared in Self Reliance, alongside Jake Johnson and Anna Kendrick, which reached No. 1 on Hulu, and Picture Me Dead directed by Chris Stokes.

In his 20s, Little was an image consultant for recording artists such as Mary J. Blige, Queen Latifah and Boyz II Men. However, it was his move to Los Angeles in 2004 that changed the course of his career — he decided to pursue being an actor. Exclusive: Ozie Nzeribe (Swagger) has joined the cast of the Tubi film Rock The Boat 2, a project by Footage Films directed by Chris Stokes and producer Marques Houston.

The film follows Millie (Parker Mckenna), who, after losing her memory of her tragic past, tries to pick up the pieces but is terrified when chaos follows her and her friends’ every move.

Nzeribe will play Durell, a young and witty brainiac who’s a bit of a nerd who gets invited to a weekend getaway with his cousin’s friend. Once they are all at the lake house everyone’s motives change.

Continuing to get into original programming (previous Tubi originals include the Terror Train remake and its sequel), Tubi has teamed up with Footage Films to bring four “Black cinema thrillers” to their service. Tubi has picked up exclusive U.S. streaming rights to the supernatural thriller Bed Rest from STXfilms and Project X Entertainment. The film starring Melissa Barrera will debut on the platform on December 7.

Exclusive: BET has handed a 10-episode series order to legal thriller Sacrifice, headlined by Paula Patton.

The project, from Footage Films, originated as a movie written, executive produced and directed by Chris Stokes, which served as a back-door pilot. It debuted in December 2019 on BET+ as the streaming service’s first original film.

Sacrifice takes place in Los Angeles and follows Daniella Hernandez (Patton), a highly sought-after entertainment lawyer, as she navigates the nefarious lives of her rich and famous clients. Patton will reprise her role in the series, accompanied by returning cast members Marques Houston, James Trevena Brown, Veronika Bozeman, Altonio Jackson, Liliana Montenegro, Michael Toland, and Nelson Bonilla.

The series will delve deeper into Daniella’s complicated personal life. She is a recovering alcoholic who compensates for her suppressed addiction with men and the adrenaline of defending the worst in the entertainment world against an over-zealous D.A.

Exclusive: Last August, BET+ announced Sacrifice, an original movie headlined by Paula Patton. Written, executive produced and directed by Chris Stokes, the movie was designed to serve as backdoor pilot for a potential series. The thriller debuted on Dec. 19 as BET Networks streaming service’s first original film.

Six months later, on June 18, the original options on the cast expired. In the days leading to the expiration date, business affairs and casting executives from BET reached out to the Sacrifice series regulars, asking them to extend their contracts for six additional weeks without additional pay, I have learned.

Citing the challenges faced by the industry amid the coronavirus pandemic, BET informed the cast that series orders had been delayed across the company, including a pickup decision on Sacrifice, I hear. The network went on to request “gratis extensions” until July 31 to give it more time.

Paula Patton is set to star in a legal thriller for Viacom’s upcoming BET+ streaming service. The project, called “Sacrifice” is a two-hour film that could end up becoming a series.

Patton will star as an entertainment lawyer navigating the nefarious lives of the rich and famous. Chris Stokes, who wrote and directed “You Got Served,” will write, direct and executive produce, with Marques Houston as a co-executive producer and cast member.

It was announced earlier this week that You Got Served 2 is officially happening. However, B2K member and star of the original, Omarion, has revealed that he will not be participating in the sequel. Chris Stokes is the man behind putting the boyband together and wrote/directed the original movie, which came out in 2004. Stokes is handling the writing and directing duties once more in hopes that they can match the success of the cult classic.

While You Got Served 2 is moving forward, it will not include Omarion Grandberry. The musician released a statement on social media revealing that he will not take part in the project. He did not give a reasoning behind his decision, but he also seems pretty hyped that it's happening. He had this to say.

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that the helpers of “The Helpers” aren’t actually helpful. I could be wrong, of course, but I’m willing to risk it. The more important point is that “The Helpers” is, from what I can tell, a Found Footage slasher movie directed by Chris Stokes, the genius who gave us “You Got Served” and the sure-to-be American classic, “Battlefield America”, which is “You Got Served” with tykes. Leave it to the mastermind behind “You Got Served” to take advantage of the cheapo Found Footage genre and put his own spin on it. And of course by “spin” I mean . If the killers don’t start “battling” with funky dance moves, I’m gonna be real disappointed. Seven friends on a road trip to Las Vegas break down near a rest-stop motel, where they encounter a seemingly helpful group of people.
