Passionate about sound, I started out engineering for local bands and DJ-ing evenings and weekends. After being trained by the old BBC, I started as a film assistant and then Film Recordist ; working on a wide range of programmes in and out of the UK including Drama, Children's, Documentaries. As video took over from film I became more involved with post production and developed skills in editing and mixing.
In 1998 I became disillusioned with the way in which BBC resources was heading and founded The Sound House. This allowed me to work on diverse projects that included films (Lord of the Rings), dramas (Shameless), music productions (Tom Jones), animation (Bob the Builder) and advertisements (Barclays) and allowed me to push boundaries whenever possible, working with industry leaders such as Universal Pictures, Paramount the BBC and Granada. This gives me the knowledge and experience to bring all aspects of sound production to individual projects producing a holistic experience to the finished results.
