Situational comedies, or sitcoms, have been around since the earliest days of television. These programs center on a small cast of characters who are faced with a new set of problematic circumstances every week and must come up with some way to solve them. Kelsey Grammer revealed to the New York Post the details surrounding a 30 year feud between himself and fellow Cheers actor Ted Danson. In the interview, Grammer stated that he and Danson did not speak over the course of three decades due in part to a confrontation between the two on the set of their Emmy-winning sitcom, which aired on NBC from 1982 to 1993.
"It got a little blown out of proportion," Grammer said of the feud, which first came to light last year. "There really wasn’t an argument. It was at a time in my life when I was actually going through a lot of self-doubt... It was when I was drinking a lot. Ted had just come up and said, 'You know, I’m kind of mad at you that sometimes you don't show up ready to go.' And I said, 'Ok, I respect that.' And that actually was sort of it.

Ask a dozen "Cheers" fans what the show's funniest moment is, and you'll get a dozen different answers. The beloved '80s sitcom bowed out in 1993 with a grand total of 275 episodes under its belt and countless laugh-out-loud bits in pretty much every episode. It's tough to pinpoint the show's funniest moment, but when it comes to crowning its most spontaneous-feeling comedic one, there's an obvious contender: the knock-down, drag-out food fight from season 5's holiday episode "Thanksgiving Orphans."
The food fight that takes place at Carla's (Rhea Perlman) house is clearly a scripted part of the series, but it unfolds with a surprising mix of precise aim and comedic chaos, much of which feels totally organic. The kerfuffle starts with a simple bit of antagonism; when Norm (George Wendt) fails to produce a cooked turkey after hours spent waiting, he and Carla begin sniping at each other about their respective cooking skills.

Bill Steinkellner has had a long career in comedy, from the world of improv (with The Groundlings) to Broadway, with stops along the way in mainstream television (Cheers) and even an animated TV series and spinoff feature (Disney’s Teacher’s Pet, a particular favorite of mine). South Park Creators' Mormon Musical Tops Tony Award Nominees
South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone's musical The Book Of Mormon is leading the way at this year's Tony Awards after scooping 14 nominations.
The hit show has garnered nods across the board including the coveted Best Musical category at the 65th annual prizegiving, which honours the best on Broadway.

Please make the Sister Act musical, which starts previews at the Broadway Theatre tonight, a half-decent homage to the Whoopi Goldberg film that briefly made catechism cool in 1992. Deliver it from the mostly tepid reviews that met its 2009 London debut. Let Xanadu’s Douglas Carter Beane, who officially joined the creative team last month (but tells EW he’d been working on the play since November) have added the laughs that British critics claimed the book by Emmy-winning Cheers writers Cheri and Bill Steinkellner lacked. And have faith that he didn’t touch what they liked about it: Its heart.

Austin, TX - Billy Bob Thorton’s, The King of Luck, documentary on Willie Nelson, will screen Saturday, March 19 for the Closing Night at the SXSW Film Festival.
The World Premiere film explores Willie Nelson “the man, the songwriter, the friend, the father, legendary performer and champion of the family farmer.”
Also announced today, a work-in-progress version of the Judd Apatow produced ‘Bridesmaids,’ will screen. The film is directed by Paul Feig, and stars Kristin Wig and Annie Mumolo.

SXSW Film Announces 2011 Closing Night & Additional Titles
Thornton’s The King of Luck, Work...
The World Premiere film explores Willie Nelson “the man, the songwriter, the friend, the father, legendary performer and champion of the family farmer.”
Also announced today, a work-in-progress version of the Judd Apatow produced ‘Bridesmaids,’ will screen. The film is directed by Paul Feig, and stars Kristin Wig and Annie Mumolo.

The South by Southwest Film Conference and Festival revealed today that its closing night film this year will be the world premiere of Bill Bob Thornton‘s documentary on Willie Nelson, The King of Luck. They also announced additional titles to the fest, including a work-in-progress screening of Bridesmaids, starring Kristen Wiig and produced by Judd Apatow, and a short from Harmony Korine. The Broadway bound tuner version of the 1992 hit film "Sister Act" has found its Mother Superior. Victoria Clark, who won the 2005 Best Musical Actress Tony Award for "Light in the Piazza," takes on role of the tart-tongued nun played on film by two-time Oscar champ Maggie Smith ("The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie," "California Suite"). Making her Broadway debut as Deloris Van Cartier, the lounge singer hiding out in the nunnery, will be Patina Miller who played the part in last year's London run. Whoopi Goldberg, who made that role so memorable in the movie, is one of the producers of this Broadway musical. Grand slam awards champ Goldberg got her Tony for producing the 2002 Best Musical "Thoroughly Modern Millie." Current Best Song Oscar nominees Alan Menken and Glenn Slater ("I See the Light" from "Tangled) penned the music and lyrics while Cheri and Bill Steinkellner wrote the book. Four-time Tony champ Jer.

Unless you live in New York or Los Angeles, chances are you weren't able to see Pee-wee Herman return to the theater. No, not That theater. "The theater" as in Broadway. Paul Reubens brought back his famous Pee-wee character in 2010 for The Pee-Wee Herman Show on Broadway, which premiered last January in Los Angeles and will conclude its New York Broadway run on January 2. HBO announced Tuesday that, immediately following the end of the run, they'll shoot the production to air sometime in 2011. So if you weren't able to go out and see Pee-wee, Miss Yvonne, Cowboy Curtis, Chairy, Jambi and the rest, you'll soon get your chance.
