Kemosabe Records, RCA Records, Larry Rudolph and Robin Antin released the following statement Tuesday to Billboard: "Nearly 9 months following the tragic death of band member Simone Battle, girl group G.R.L. announces today that they are disbanding. Group members Lauren Bennett, Emmalyn Estrada, Natasha Slayton and Paula van Oppen released "Lighthouse" on Thursday, a new song and video in memory of their late member Battle. The 25-year-old tragically lost her life to suicide in September.

“It’s a strange day,” Bennett tells ETonline. “It’s definitely bittersweet. It’s sad, but at the same time we’re very happy with the video. It’s a very positive message and reflection on her life, and we’re happy with that.”

The singer was found dead at her Hollywood home on Saturday morning at age 25. Update: On Sunday, the cause of Simone Battle's death was ruled a suicide by hanging, according to the AP.

G.R.L. tweeted out these messages for Simone.
