Wme has booked veteran music agent Lucy Dickins as Head of UK Music division starting next month. Joining the agency from Itb (International Talent Booking), she has a client roster that includes Adele, Mumford & Sons, Laura Marling, James Blake and Mabel — all of whom Wme now will represent globally. Dickins who recently was named Live Music Agent of the year at the Music Week Awards, also works with the likes of Hot Chip, Bryan Ferry, Rex Orange County, Jamie T and Jack Peñate. “There’s no one else who possesses Lucy’s combination of pedigree, taste and respect in our industry,” Wme’s Head of Music Marc Geiger said. “After being in business with her family for so many years, we feel fortunate that she decided to join Wme, and we look forward to bringing her perspective to our clients and colleagues.” Itb agents James Simmons and Chris Payne are...

Stars: Johanna Stanton, Nicholas Ball, Debbie Rochon, Matthew Tompkins, Hayden Tweedie, Katie Kensit, Sal Esen, Claire Jared, James Simmons, Scott Christie | Written by Jon Keeyes, Carl Kirshner | Directed by Jon Keeyes
Jon Keeyes is a name that has popped up a lot in genre cinema discussion recently, mainly due to his film The Harrowing gaining traction within the horror community. I’m guessing that’s the reason that Wild Eye chose to go back into Keeyes’ oeuvre for their latest release, Doom Room, which was originally made back in 2013 under the title of Nightmare Box.
The film sees a woman, the girl with no eyes who’s oblivious to her surroundings (Katie Kensit), the pious man of god (James Simmons) who belittles our heroine for her sexuality, and then there’s the husband and wife (Matthew Tompkins and Debbie Rochon respectively) who take our “Jane Doe” on a psycho-sexual S&M trip…...

Mark Wahlberg and wife Rhea Durham on the Oscars' Red Carpet Mark Wahlberg and wife Rhea Durham at the Academy Awards Mark Wahlberg and wife Rhea Durham in a red-and-golden outfit are pictured above on the 2011 Academy Awards' Red Carpet, just outside the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood. The Oscar ceremony was held on Sunday, Feb. 27. Wahlberg, decades ago known as underwear model Marky Mark, was an Oscar nominee as one of the producers of Best Picture contender The Fighter – which ultimately lost to odds-on favorite The King's Speech. Mark Wahlberg was the only major player in the David O. Russell-directed boxing drama who failed to be nominated for an Academy Award in the acting categories. Co-stars Amy Adams, Melissa Leo, and Christian Bale were all shortlisted; Leo and Bale ended up winning in their respective supporting categories. Wahlberg, however, was a Best Supporting Actor nominee four years ago: for...

Electronics brand Toshiba has appointed Match Media as its buying agency after a competitive review.
The appointment brings to an end Toshiba’s five-year relationship with GroupM agency Maxus.
The win for Match, which will handle both Toshiba’s traditional and digital media, is yet more good news for the independent, which was recently named Mumbrella’s Media Agency of the Year.
Mariana Thomas, national marketing manager of Toshiba Australia, said: “One of the criteria we were looking for in the new agency was the ability to demonstrate an understanding of our market and our business and to present a holistic approach with effective and innovative ideas across all types of media.”
She added: “I would like to thank Maxus for working with Toshiba over the past five years and we wish them well for the future.”
Match director James Simmons commented: “We are delighted to be working with Toshiba.

Australia’s Revelation Perth International Film Festival will be holding it’s explosive 15th annual edition on July 5-15 with one of it’s most jam-packed lineups yet.
One of the most special events that Revelation will be holding is July 14‘s retrospective of the films of Jeff Keen, the pioneering British underground filmmaker who very sadly just passed away on June 21. Keen’s work has been having a major resurgence lately and Revelation is the latest organization to so boldly feature his breathtaking experimental film work, from classics like 1967′s Marvo Movie to modern films like Artwar (1993) and Joy Thru Film (2000). This is absolutely an event not to be missed.
Another staggering event this year is a very special live presentation of Crispin Hellion Glover‘s notorious underground films What Is It? and It Is Fine! Everything Is Fine. (Click film titles for Bad Lit reviews!) These very...
