Fans have been waiting very patiently for the release of the new trailer for Zack Snyder's Justice League. A few days ago we were thinking that perhaps the new trailer was going to be debut at Wondercon next weekend at the Warner Bros. Pictures panel that is going to take place on Saturday, April 1st. But this morning we got our answer unexpectedly during a brief teaser on NBC's Today Show.
The footage that is making it's way around the net, is centered around Aquaman, played by Jason Mamoa. In one particular moment Batman, played by Ben Affleck, is handing Aquaman his trident. It goes on to announce that in "2 Days Unite The League... Exclusive Trailer This Saturday". One of the last images we see is of the Justice League, minus Superman of course, standing as their vehicle door opens. You can check out the footage below, its not...

Warning: major spoilers about Suicide Squad lie ahead. Suicide Squad is full of bad guys, but we need to talk about the real bad guy in Suicide Squad. No, it’s not Kevin we need to talk about (who is decidedly more frightening and more memorable than the actual villains in Suicide Squad. And though Kevin’s counterpart, Barry Allen, made a characteristically blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameo in the movie). We need to talk about the true antagonists of the latest DC movie, the ones our rogues gallery of anti-heroes must battle. Enchantress and Incubus. Photo credit: Warner Bros. Did you know they’d be the antagonists of this movie before walking into the theater? I didn’t. Warner Bros. kept Enchantress/Dr. June Moone largely out of Suicide Squad’s trailers, and it’s not because of any backlash about the character’s costume. It turns out she’s the antagonist here,...

The 2016 Golden Globe Awards were held last night; it was a long one but thanks to host Ricky Gervais, it was anything but boring. The Revenant took home Best Picture – Drama, Best Director for Alejandro G. Iñárritu, and Best Actor for Leonardo DiCaprio. Some might hope that Leos’ Oscar chances are a lock now, but let’s remember that for some strange reason he didn’t win for Wolf of Wall Street. The Academy has already closed voting for Oscar nominations, so this award show has no claim to much.
The Martian won Best Picture – Comedy and Best Actor in a Comedy for Matt Damon, while the Best Actress honors went to Brie Larson for Room and Jennifer Lawrence for Joy. And our favorite actress, Kate Winslet, won for her supporting role in Steve Jobs. Also, Sylvester Stallone won for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Creed; his last...

The Revenant, The Martian, Sylvester Stallone, Leonardo diCaprio and Mr Robot win big at the Golden Globe awards. Here are the winners...
Might it just be Leonardo diCaprio's year, finally, at the Academy Awards? He and his latest movie, The Revenant, took a big step towards the Oscar stage by taking home the big prizes at the Golden Globe awards overnight. DiCaprio took home the best actor gong (for a drama), whilst The Revenant seized Best Motion Picture, Drama, beating out the early Oscar favourite, Spotlight.
Alejandro G Inarritu won Best Director for The Revenant, too.
Elsewhere? The Martian won big too, with Matt Damon earning the best actor prize in a musical or comedy, with the film itself winning Best Motion Picture (musical, or comedy). Sylvester Stallone nabbed Best Supporting Actor for his work in Creed, with Kate Winslet winning Best Supporting Actress for Steve Jobs.

Golden Globes: Michael Fassbender. 2016 Golden Globes winners, as they're announced The Golden Globes will be hosted once again by Ricky Gervais, who stirred up quite a to-do a few years ago with his three few-holds-barred, back-to-back gigs (2010–2012). At the time, Gervais roasted the rich and famous (and not so-famous) ceremony attendees (and several non-attendees), implying, at times without naming names, that Hollywood Scientologists (Tom Cruise and John Travolta) were gay, that Jodie Foster was a lesbian (a juvenile, cringeworthy joke about Foster's box office flop The Beaver, starring Mel Gibson), that Madonna was hardly like her song “Like a Virgin” (for which he got a rebuke), and so on. Expect more of same this year for the entertainment of those who can only wish they were rich and famous and getting drunk at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills this evening. Who's going to win? The Golden Globes ceremony...

And so it goes, Alejandro González Iñárritu's "The Revenant" derails Tom McCarthy's "Spotlight" from dominating award season by winning the most trophies at the 73rd annual Golden Globe Awards! Besides taking home the Best Picture Drama trophy, Leonardo DiCaprio also won the Best Actor Drama trophy while Iñárritu received the Best Director award.
The Golden Globes, given by the Hollywood Foreign Press, bestowed "The Martian" as the Best Picture Comedy of the year because it's really funny! According to host Ricky Gervais, "The Martian" was a lot funnier than "Pixels." True that! Matt Damon also won Best Actor Comedy for "The Martian."
Jennifer Lawrence took home the Best Actress Comedy trophy for "Joy" beating her bestie Amy Schumer for "Trainwreck." Brie Larson won the Best Actress Drama award for "Room."
In the supporting acting categories, Kate Winslet won actress for "Steve Jobs" while Sylvester Stallone received the actor trophy.

The 73rd annual Golden Globe nominations were announced this morning. On the movie side, "Carol" cleaned up, garnering the most nominations (five), while "The Big Short," "The Revenant," and "Steve Jobs" each earned four. Sylvester Stallone and Jennifer Lawrence, who got no love in yesterday's SAG award nominations, were nominated, while Toms Hardy and Hanks were shut out again. And while Mark Ruffalo didn't nominated for "Spotlight," he did get one for "Infinitely Polar Bear," a movie few people had even heard of. "American Crime," "Fargo," "Mr. Robot," "Outlander," "Transparent," and "Wolf Hall" had the most individual show nominations, with three each. The major networks were nearly shut out entirely (with the exception of Fox's "Empire" and ABC's "American Crime"), with Netflix (eight), HBO (seven), Starz (six), Amazon (five), and FX (five) leading the nominations. NBC didn't get any, which means Lady Gaga officially got more Golden Globe nominations this year than all of NBC.

This year's nominations for the Golden Globes in January have been announced by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. Despite all the slamming the organisation and awards get in the media, they are still the most anticipated awards for film and television outside those two industry's two major ceremonies (Oscars, Emmys).
Leading the film pack this year is "Carol" with five nominations; followed by "Steve Jobs," "The Big Short" and "The Revenant" with four nominations each. Some surprises were in store - Mark Ruffalo nominated for his own "Infinitely Polar Bear" rather than his acclaimed turn in "Spotlight," numerous nods for Starz's popular "Outlander" and welcome nods for Eva Green and Rachel Bloom.
Notable snubs completely shut out include no acting nods for "Spotlight," no Johnny Depp for "Black Mass" or Tom Hardy for "The Revenant," and no recognition for "House of Cards," "Homeland," or "The Affair". Also, and amusingly so,...

The nominations for the 73rd Annual Golden Globes have just been announced, and unlike yesterday’s Screen Actors Guild announcement, there wasn’t really anything in the way of surprises to be found. Todd Haynes’ gorgeous and well-acted drama Carol led the way with five nominations, including Best Picture – Drama, Best Director, two nods for Best Actress – Drama (Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara), and Best Original Score. The Big Short, The Revenant, and Steve Jobs followed with four nominations apiece.
What’s rather interesting to note about these nominations is that no film managed to hit every major spot on the list. The expected winner of Best Picture – Drama, Spotlight, also nabbed nominations in Best Director and Best Screenplay, but failed to get a single acting nod. As mentioned, Carol got in for Best Picture – Drama, as well as for Director and Acting, but failed to nab a Screenplay nod,...

As mentioned, Carol got in for Best Picture – Drama, as well as for Director and Acting, but failed to nab a Screenplay nod,...

Memorize this face as you'll be seeing a lot of it.
This is Pilou Asbaek, who appears to be the love child of Michael Shannon and Leonardo DiCaprio, but whose acting is surprisingly subtle given that visual prompt. Now picture him shaggier and with a sword as he'll be joining Game of Thrones for Season 6 to play Euron Greyjoy. GoT has become to Scandinavian and Northern European stars what Law & Order once was to NYC stage actors or Harry Potter was to older British thespians; the place they all end up in some capacity large or small! You'll also soon see him as Pontious Pilate in the Ben-Hur remake and then reunited with Scarlett Johansson (he played her cowboy hat wearing boyfriend in the first scenes of Lucy) for Ghost in the Shell a couple of years from now. In other words, he's suddenly in demand.

According to a new report from Movieweb and their sources, there's some new rumors flying around that claims the new "Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice" super hero/action movie is bringing back the dead corpse of Michael Shannon's General Zod (left) to be the dreaded Doomsday villain! If the rumor turns out to be true, the film would supposedly have Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) experiment on Zod's dead body, since it is, "the key to his master plan to defeat Superman." The experiment would then "trigger the Doomsday genome" which re-animates the dead body and turns it into the villainous Doomsday. They did reiterate that this is an unconfirmed rumor as it has not been confirmed by Warner Bros. Pictures. With that being said, something like this could possibly take place. Of course, if it does, we more than likely wouldn't know until we actually see it in...

For all intents and purposes, the DC Comics shared cinematic universe began in earnest on July 20th, 2013. The Brothers Warner announced to a packed Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con that their next superhero film would be one seeing a face-off between the two most popular characters in the history of the genre. While it was an announcement that set a shockwave across the world that Michael Shannon’s General Zod would be proud of, it was the only official announcement for that weekend for live-action properties from the WB/DC tag team.
An announcement of a live-action TV show for The Flash followed just a couple weeks later. WB/DC decided that the small screen would be the best medium for The Scarlet Speedster aka Barry Allen despite many fans’ disappointment in the lack of a silver screen presence. The show would see the life of day thanks in a big way to Arrow,...

New York -- Two stories born in Britain are vying for America's biggest theater prize.
"Kinky Boots" and "Matilda" are each a virtual lock to get a Tony Award nomination Tuesday for best musical and each show will be eager to capture as many nods as possible in the other 25 categories.
The nominations will be announced from The New York Public Library for Performing Arts in a televised event co-hosted by Tony winner Sutton Foster and "Modern Family" star Jesse Tyler Ferguson.
"Kinky Boots" is based on the 2005 British movie about a real-life shoe factory that struggles until it finds new life in fetish footwear. Songs by pop icon Cyndi Lauper and a story by Harvey Fierstein have made it a crowd-pleaser, albeit in open-minded New York. Touring potential is key for Tony voters.

In the Hollywood handbook of character shorthand, a British actor is pretty high up on the list of ways to swiftly establish somebody as a bad'un. As villain clichés go, it's just above 'underground lair' and slightly below 'unexpectedly offing a loyal henchman'.
Ben Kingsley's doing his bit to keep the stereotype alive this month, playing the formidable Mandarin who makes it his mission to destroy Tony Stark's world in Iron Man 3.
Plus, just in case you've been living under a rock or in a coma, Benedict Cumberbatch plays much-discussed villain John Harrison in next month's Star Trek Into Darkness, and he's dominated Paramount's entire marketing campaign so completely that the character already feels weirdly iconic.
So with Brit baddies more in vogue than ever, Digital Spy takes a look back over six of the best...

Twenty fours months and a hot new producer can change everything. It had names like Shia Labeouf, Ryan Gosling, Amy Adams, Scarlett Johnasson and Michael Shannon attached, but circa January 2010, John Hillcoat's "Lawless," then known as "The Wettest County" or "The Promised Land" had fallen apart.
But thanks to Megan Ellison's fledgling Annapurna Pictures -- a company that the L.A. Times described as currently "energizing the indie film world" this weekend -- the picture, with a mostly new cast, was brought back to life and currently is one of the biggest buzzed about films at Cannes (read our review here). So it makes sense that Hillcoat would stick around with his new patron saint. And so as we revealed earlier in the year, Annapurna Pictures is also producing a relatively old Hillcoat project from 2009, the Lapd police drama, "Triple Nine."

Battleship: Brooklyn Decker, Taylor Kitsch Brooklyn Decker has two box-office disappointments opening on the same weekend: Decker is featured in Battleship and What to Expect When You’re Expecting. Both movies opened way below expectations on Friday; in fact, official studio estimates released Saturday morning have them faring even worse than Friday night estimates indicated. Starring Taylor Kitsch, Peter Berg’s Battleship raked in $9m at 3,650 locations on Friday in the Us/Canada according to Box Office Mojo. That’s about $500k less than early estimates. For comparison’s sake: Joss Whedon’s The Avengers, at the start of its third weekend out, took in an estimated $15.3m. Box-office prognosticators were expecting Battleship to gross $40m on its first weekend out in North America. It turns out the alien invasion actioner / sci-fier will be lucky if it earns much more than $25m. A Universal release, Battleship cost a reported $209m.

Dark Shadows: Michelle Pfeiffer in the old Joan Bennett role, Elizabeth Collins Stoddard Unlike Joss Whedon / Chris Evans / Chris Hemsworth’s The Avengers, Tim Burton / Johnny Depp’s Dark Shadows isn’t about to break any box-office records. Though most fans identify Superman's mom and dad as Ma and Pa Kent, being that the guy's from the planet Krypton, his biological parents are actually a couple of aliens. Previously, Russell Crowe and Julia Ormond held the roles of Jor-El and Lara Lor-Van, respectively, but new reports reveal that Ormond has been replaced by Israeli actress Ayelet Zurer.
Best known to American audiences for her roles in "Angels & Demons" and "Munich," Zurer also appeared on the Israeli television series "Betipul," which was later adapted into the American show "In Treatment." Deadline broke the news of Zurer's casting, but was unable to cite a reason for director Zack Snyder's last-minute substitution.
Like most of Superman's core mythos, Lara Lor-Van was created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, but unlike some other elements, was first introduced in the "Superman" comic strip and then retrofitted into the comic books.

Michael Shannon might be the most mysterious element of Zack Snyder's Superman reboot left. With only very brief glimpses (if it even was him) on the set and even less from the man himself on playing the role. But now in the new issue of Total Film the actor finally breaks his silence, although he doesn't really get into the specifics of the character. He tells the mag that he recently watched Terence Stamp play Zod in Superman 2.. "I found that intimidating. He nailed it. My girlfriend was watching Superman 2 and I said "Turn it off, I can't watch, I'm not worthy!". He also talks up his co-star Henry Cavill and says that he has been studying the comic books in preparation and has also been putting in some serious gym time.. Antje Traue has been cast in the upcoming Superman reboot as the villainous Faora, according to Variety. The German actress, whose only major previous Hollywood credit was in 2009′s Pandorum, will join a rogues’ gallery that already includes Michael Shannon’s General Zod. (Warner Bros. has not yet confirmed the casting.) There have been various versions of Faora in Superman comics over the years, and the character loosely inspired the femme fatale Ursa in Superman II. The 2012 film begins shooting this summer.

German actress Antje Traue has officially been cast as a supervillain in Zack Snyder's upcoming Superman reboot. Variety confirms that Traue will play a female villain called Faora, an ally of the film's main enemy General Zod, who will be portrayed by Michael Shannon. Faora was believed to be the inspiration for the female villain Ursa, who appeared in both the 1978 film Superman and its 1980 sequel Superman II and was portrayed by actress Sarah Douglas. It was recently announced that Michael Shannon would be taking on the Man of Steel (Henry Cavill) in Zack Snyder’s reboot as General Zod (here). However, we’ve been hearing the film is looking for a female to portray a villain as well (here), and it seems that character may have just been revealed. Latino Review was told by a “reliable source” that Faora would be featured in the film as Zod’s “right hand b*tch.” There’s word on how truthful this is, but it would make a lot of sense. The character Ursa in Superman II was based upon Faora, both of which are accomplices of General Zod in the comics.
The description of her character, according to the source, also suggests that we’ll Zod and Faora have the same fate as shown in Richard Donner’s film. “Faora Hu-Ul was a serial killer born on the planet Krypton.

So because she said that you have all these bloggers and film sites saying that we will see a young Clark Kent once more. I think what I like most about the Zack Snyder Man Of Steel reboot is, that there will be no Lex Luthor -- I mean I've had enough of that bald son of a bitch, haven't you? I think we all sung a sigh of quick relief when Snyder confirmed that the main villain would be General Zod -- rather than the egotistical baldie Luthor, who could almost be the most over used/annoying DC character of all time. This time around Snyder will be going with General Zod for his main villain in his Man of Steel reboot, who has been officially cast! ! press release issued today by Warner Bros. has announced the actor who will play the almighty Zod: Michael Shannon.
Snyder said of the part: "Zod is not only one of Superman's most formidable enemies, but one of the most significant because he has insights into Superman that others don't.
