Severance Season 2 has just dropped the finale episode, leaving fans and the director, Ben Stiller, in awe. The Apple TV+’s sci-fi thriller premiered in 2022, introducing the mysterious cult world of the biotechnology corporation Lumon Industries, going through some unconventional experiments. Lumon Industries has developed a “severance” program that allows employees to have two identities: one for work and another for their personal lives.

In Season 2, the story continues, with employees now having “innie” and “outie” memories created by implanting a chip into their brains that allows them to have no recollection of the work once they leave and step into the personal world. The series features a huge cast, with Adam Scott playing Mark Scout, who has been “severed” and leads the department. The finale of Season 2 has ended with a bloody twist, one which, according to Ben Stiller, no one could have preempted.

Patricia Arquette, who plays Harmony Cobel on Apple TV+'s thriller series Severance, explains the breathing tube scene in season 2, episode 8. Airing on March 7, the latest episode, titled "Sweet Vitriol," dives into Harmony's past as she drives to her hometown, Salt's Neck, and spends some time lying on the bed her mother rested on before passing away. It’s been four years since Encore published its Top 20 Directors and Producers list, and we felt it was time to compile a new, more comprehensive list that included professionals working across all areas – film, television and Tvc production – as well as the leaders and decision-makers that determine the direction of the industry.

Instead of having a limited list of panellists, we consulted with the main agencies and organisations, and also asked our readers to nominate their candidates. We ended up with a list of more than 200 screen industry professionals, and deciding the final 50 was indeed a difficult task.
