Four Canadian television and stage actresses have filed separate civil lawsuits against actor Albert Schultz, according to a report by the CBC. The suits allege 30 separate incidents of sexual assault or harassment over the course of a 13-year period from 2000 to 2013. The misconduct occurred while the women were acting in productions with Toronto’s Soulpepper Theatre Company during Schultz’s tenure as artistic director. The actresses are “Orphan Black” star Kristin Booth, Diana Bentley (Netflix’s “Frontier”), Hannah Miller (“Saving Hope”) and Patricia Fagan (“Murdoch Mysteries”).
“Albert is a serial sexual predator who…had well-developed methods for targeting actresses and luring them into situations that he considered optimal for sexually harassing and assaulting them,” according to a copy of the lawsuits obtained by the CBC.

In a New York Times interview alongside her “The Post” co-star Tom Hanks, actress Meryl Streep further reckons with questions about her reaction to the widespread allegations against former super-producer Harvey Weinstein, with whom the Oscar-winning actress worked with on a number of occasions. Although Streep has become increasingly more vocal since what was assumed to be initial silence, the questions have not abated, though she’s now eager for other women — specifically Melania and Ivanka Trump — to speak out next.
When asked about the expectation that Streep needed to say something when the Weinstein allegations first broke, she told the outlet, “I found out about this on a Friday and went home deep into my own life. And then somebody told me that on ‘Morning Joe’ they were screaming that I haven’t responded yet. I don’t have a Twitter thing or – handle, whatever. And I don’t have Facebook.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Board of Governors has been wrestling with something they promised to do at that fateful October 14th meeting when they stripped accused sexual predator Harvey Weinstein of his Academy membership. Questions have been raised about how to handle other existing Academy members accused of misconduct, from Brett Ratner, Kevin Spacey and Bill Cosby to Stephen Collins and Roman Polanski, who have both admitted to having inappropriate sex with a minor, as well as future allegations.
Following Tuesday night’s Board meeting, Academy CEO Dawn Hudson sent out an email to Academy members, below. The Board has approved the Standards of Conduct, proposed by a special task force that has assembled procedures for dealing with allegations of misconduct in the Academy ranks. Those procedures will be revealed in the new year.

Co-starring in Bj McDonnell’s first directorial effort as a Southern sheriff in way over his head, Zach Galligan has seen almost everything throughout his career. But he’s never seen mosquitoes quite as big as the ones swarming across the swamplands down in Louisiana on the set of Hatchet III.
When I spoke with Zach recently, thankfully, both of us were quite comfortable and indoors.
Dread Central: I know you grew up in the New York area as a big horror fan when you were a kid. You watched the Universal monsters growing up, then basically got to act alongside them in Waxwork, and you’ve also been a part of the new breed of classic monsters with Gremlins and now Victor Crowley in Hatchet III. Would that little kid who loved Chiller Theatre be pretty impressed with how things turned out?
