- On El silencio de los inocentes (1991): Doing the '92 awards circuit was fun. We'd been to the Golden Globes and only won Best Actress, so we weren't going into the Oscars as the obvious favorite, but as the night went on -- Best Picture being last -- there were some very pleasant surprises!
- I'd read the book El silencio de los inocentes (1991) and it was very violent and Jonathan and I needed to go back to work so we were looking around. ...In a series of events Gene Hackman, who was attached, dropped the project and Orion turned it over to us, so we rolled over right into pre-production.

- I got to know Ted Demme before he went to work at MTV. We had a lot of fun together and Ted gave me a small acting part in a movie he did called El árbitro (1994)... He was a force. A guy that spread sunshine where ever he went and he was this amazing filmmaker... So it was very tragic...
