I must admit that I missed Dexter’s Laboratory when it originally aired on the Cartoon Network from 1996-2003. Friends raved about its charm and humor and the brilliance of animator Genndy Tartakovsky. So, the arrival of Dexter’s Laboratory: The Complete Series is welcome. On sale today from Warner Home Entertainment, the set includes all 78 episodes plus the special Dexter’s Laboratory: Ego Trip.
According to the press release, the show is about half-Einstein, half-third grader Dexter. This boy genius creates the most amazing inventions in the top-secret and highly advanced laboratory attached to his room. But his genius can’t stop his space-brained sister Dee Dee from messing up and his work and pushing his buttons. Or his annoying rival Mandark Astronomonov from constantly trying to one-up him. Can Dexter use his intelligence to solve his problems? Time to fight fire with…Science!

The Loud House is back with a 2-hour special "Road Trip" event set to air July 14 on Nickelodeon. In honor of the Loud family's biggest adventure yet, Screen Rant is proud to present an exclusive clip from the clan's visit to Hollywood in "Screen Queen." As fans of the long-running animated show know, Lola was born ready to do what it takes to become a star, and the upcoming road trip is her best chance thus far.
Created by Chris Savino, The Loud House first premiered on Nickelodeon in 2016 and has gone on to win a few Emmys in its seven-season history. The "Road Trip" Summer special is all thanks to Rita, who is assigned a travel article at work and therefore has the entire family join her on a cross-country road trip. Two of Nickelodeon's biggest titles are heading to Netflix with new, original movies. It's been announced that the network will produce movies for the streaming service based on animated series Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Loud House. This comes as part of a larger, multi-picture deal made between Paramount Pictures and Netflix late last year.
According to a new report, Viacom CEO Bob Bakish confirmed the news during a recent analyst call. Viacom is the parent company to both Paramount and Nickelodeon. This expands the scope of the company's dealings with Netflix, as they already produce the series Pinky Malinky, as well as the highly-anticipated upcoming live-action series based on Avatar: The Last Airbender. It was made clear that both of these projects were movies, not TV shows, that they hope will help promote the brands overall. Bakish had this to say about it.

In a deal between Nickelodeon and Netflix, Nickelodeon Studios is producing two original, animated feature films based on Nickelodeon TV series, “The Loud House” and “Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.”
Viacom CEO Bob Bakish announced the news on Viacom’s first-quarter earnings call Tuesday. He added that the deal is significant because the deal is only for films and does not involve either TV series.
“This is both incremental business and powerful promotion for the two franchises,” Bakish said on the call.
“The Loud House” is an animated series created by Chris Savino that has been on air since 2016 about an 11-year-old boy named Lincoln Loud who lives in a house with 10 sisters. Savino was fired from the show back in Oct. 2018 following sexual harassment accusations.

Hollywood loves a comeback story, whether it’s an actor overcoming an addiction or a director finding a hit after a series of flops. It offers hope.
In the era of reckoning, that sentiment seems somewhat out of fashion. “Their time is up,” Oprah Winfrey said at last year’s Golden Globes, dispatching sexual harassers with biblical finality.
The hiring of John Lasseter, the former creative guru at Pixar who last year was forced to step aside at Disney amid a sexual harassment scandal, is becoming a test case of which impulse — redemption or condemnation — now prevails. Last week, Skydance Media CEO David Ellison named Lasseter to run his animation division.
Lasseter was accused of groping staffers, making lascivious comments, kissing underlings on the lips and thwarting the careers of female animators. Ellison, in making the announcement on Jan. 9, argued that Lasseter had reformed, had learned from his mistakes and made amends.

Women in Animation has partnered with a group of independent studios on a pledge to have zero tolerance for harassment in the industry.
The advocacy group has lined up 11 companies — OddBot, Inc., Six Point Harness, Titmouse, Bento Box Entertainment, CounterPunch Studios, Duncan Studio, Incessant Rain Animation Studios, Renegade Animation, Stoopid Buddy Stoodios, Tonko House and Wild Canary Animation — and hopes to convince others to join and affirm their commitment to creating healthier work environments. In each instance, the studio president and owner have agreed to sign the pledge and to have it counter-signed by each of their employees.
The move came about in the wake of an open letter that was sent last October to studio chiefs. It was signed by more than 200 women and gender nonconforming people in the animation industry, urging others to speak out about sexual harassment and calling the problem pervasive.

Hollywood’s sexual harassment scandals have had an immediate effect on the industry — and on TV viewers as well. As networks and studios are confronted with allegations of misconduct and assault by their stars, producers, and even executives, heightened publicity has also prevented them from sweeping such news under the rug.
Instead, from morning to primetime, broadcast, cable and streaming services have been faced with making big moves on some of their biggest properties. In the $1 billion morning show competition, both NBC’s “Today” and CBS’ “This Morning” fired key anchors. Netflix’s and Amazon’s signature, award-winning dramas are expected to return without their lead stars. Paramount Network planned to launch by leveraging the Weinstein brand — but that strategy is dead. And FX must now rebuild its comedy brand without the producer who inspired much of it.

Former NewsRadio star Andy Dick has attempted to make a career out of being offensive and inappropriate. That's why it comes as little surprise that he was recently fired from a small role in an independent movie over claims that he repeatedly harassed and assaulted multiple members of the production. The Hollywood Reporter was not able to reach any of the alleged victims, however, two sources detailed Dick’s inappropriate behavior, which included groping people’s genitals, unwanted kissing/licking and sexual propositions of at least four members of the production.

It was inspired by creator Chris Savino's life growing up in a big family. Lincoln's best pal, Clyde, has two dads. The two characters are featured in the clip below, which appropriately features Lincoln (Grant Palmer) declaring "Time to make history!" Sure it was about his sleepover, but you know how cartoons love a good wink to the audience. The voice cast for Loud House also includes...

Nickelodeon has ordered 13 episodes of The Loud House, from first-time creator Chris Savino. The animated series, about a chaotic life growing up in a huge household, is based on a short from Nick’s 2013 Animated Shorts Program. This is the first project from that initiative, launched in 2012 and designed to identify and develop original comedy-driven content for kids. Pitches chosen are developed into animated shorts with the potential to air on the network or live on the Nick App. The short from Savino (Rocko’s Modern Life, The Powerpuff Girls) follows 11-year-old Lincoln as he gives an inside look at what it takes to survive in the bedlam of a large family, especially as the only boy with 10 sisters. It will air on Nick. The news today dovetails with Nickelodeon announcing the 11 finalists from its 2014 Animated Shorts Program. They are: Francine by writer/comedian Katie Crown – The story of a...

Jennifer Yuh Nelson's "Kung Fu Panda 2" dominated the Annie Awards nominations, but the International Animated Film Society decided to give its highest honor -- the Best Animated Feature award -- to Gore Verbinski's "Rango." Both films are from DreamWorks Animation and they still have to duke it out at the upcoming Oscars in the Best Animated Feature Film category.
Besides the Best Animated trophy, "Rango" also collected awards for Best Editing and Writing. But Nelson, the first woman to direct a feature film animation from a major Hollywood production company, won the Directing in a Feature Production award! Yay! (Check out my interview with Jennifer Yuh Nelson for "Kung Fu Panda 2" right here)
The Annie Awards winners were announced yesterday at the UCLA Royce Hall in Los Angeles.

I'm a huge fan of animation, animated films are getting better and better. Not only is the look and animation getting ridiculously awesome, but I find that many of these animated films actually have incredibly good stories. Not all of them are good though, for example, Cars 2 and Rio sucked. It will be interesting to see who ends up taking home the awards this year. Out of the movies on the list that I've seen and liked we have Puss in Boots, Rango and Kung Fu Panda 2. I guess it's no surprises that Kung Fu Panda 2 is leading the nominations with 9. Check out the list and let us know what your favorite animated movies of the year are!

Pixar's "Cars 2" received seven nominations, while Disney's "Winnie the Pooh" took eight nods but was oddly missing in the Best Animated Feature category.

Disney Xd, which is rebranding from Toon Disney in February, is partnering with daredevil "Kaptain" Robbie Knievel for a 2-D animated comedy series about a 12-year-old boy who wants to become the world's greatest daredevil.
"Kid Knievel," from Walt Disney Television Animation, marks the first animated show for Disney Xd, which is primarily targeted at boys ages 6-14 and their families. Knievel will serve as a stunt consultant on the series, which is in production for a fall 2009 premiere.
The series centers on a boy (voiced by Chris Edgerly) -- short in stature but big in heart -- who, inspired by Knievel, overcomes incredible obstacles in his quest to become the world's greatest and most extreme daredevil.
Matt Jones and Danny Cooksey also voice roles in the show, which was created by Sandro Corsaro. Chris Savino is the executive producer and director.
