A show that focuses on the fairly conventional premise of a group of kids, a stern mom, and a bumbling dad doesn't necessarily have what it takes to become a smash hit. However, the stars certainly aligned for "Malcolm in the Middle." The show premiered in 2000 and ran for a solid seven seasons before concluding in May 2006. If you've never seen the show and only know the basic premise, it's easy to assume that the series simply rode the coattails of the 1990s sitcom high to success ... but as anyone familiar with the series can attest, you don't make it to season 7 without being a pretty watchable sitcom, which "Malcolm in the Middle" certainly was.

One of the show's secrets is casting. The pre-Walter White Bryan Cranston was so convincingly hilarious as the slapstick-happy father Hal that he nearly lost "Breaking Bad" over a certain "Malcolm in the Middle" scene.

The popular slasher series Scream will continue with the upcoming Scream 7. The new installment will bring back a series of beloved legacy characters, as well as many characters who have died in previous installments.

While details about the plot of the upcoming Scream 7 are scarce, the new slasher will feature several returning actors, whose characters have died. Brian McGreevy is the author who wrote the novel Hemlock Grove, then worked with Lee Shipman and Eli Roth to develop the concept into a television series that ran on the Netflix streaming service for three seasons and a total of 33 episodes. McGreevy went on to co-create the Western TV series The Son, which ran on AMC for two seasons, a total of 20 episodes. Now, Deadline reports that McGreevy is set to make his feature directorial debut with a psychological thriller called The Technique – and he has assembled a solid cast to bring the story’s characters to life. That cast includes Kelsey Asbille (Yellowstone), Emma Roberts (American Horror Story), Nicholas Alexander Chavez (Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story), Ben Platt (Theater Camp), Laura Harrier (Spider-Man: Homecoming), and Noomi Rapace (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo).

We're the Millers was a big success when it came out in 2013. Naturally, New Line Cinema was interested in continuing the story and announced plans for a sequel in 2014, but the movie never happened.

Over a decade since the comedy came out in theaters, none of the actors have an encouraging update about the sequel. The comedy starred Jennifer Aniston, Jason Sudeikis, Will Poulter, and Emma Roberts. In a new interview with People at the SXSW Film & TV Festival to promote his latest film, Death of a Unicorn, Poulter revealed he doesn't think We're the Millers 2 will ever happen.

Speaking about the 2013 film and whether a sequel was in development, the actor said, "Like We're Still the Millers? There was, I think."

However, Poulter continued, "I don't think it's gonna happen. I mean, no one else is [but] I’m too old now. But, yeah, it was a fun time.

With the 97th Oscars just days away, celebrating the best movies and performances of 2024, the 45th Razzies is highlighting the worst of the worst. Among the films nominated for Worst Picture, Madame Web took home the top prize.

Among the other films nominated for the Golden Raspberry for Worst Picture were the highly anticipated sequel (and highly disappointing), Joker: Folie à Deux; Francis Ford Coppola's bizarre Megalopolis; big-budget (and bigger bomb) video game adaptation, Borderlands; and the Reagan biopic with Dennis Quaid. The Oscars will honor the best movie of the year this Sunday, but the infamous Razzie Awards have crowned the “worst” of 2024’s films.

Sony’s much-derided superhero film “Madame Web” has the (dis)honor of winning three Razzies, including worst picture, actress for Dakota Johnson and screenplay. “Joker: Folie à Deux,” another divisive superhero entry,” led with seven nominations and took home screen combo for Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga and prequel, remake, rip-off or sequel.

Francis Ford Coppola won for directing his big-budget epic “Megalopolis,” and star Jon Voight won supporting actor for the film — shared with his turns in “Reagan,” “Shadow Land” and “Strangers.” Coppola’s “Megalopolis” received six nominations, which was tied for second-most nods with “Madame Web,” “Borderlands” and “Reagan.”

The famed filmmaker responded to his Razzies on Instagram, saying “box office is only about money, and like war, stupidity and politics has no true place in our future.

The results are in on the 2025 Razzie Awards where the year’s “worst” movies are recognized and awarded.

The annual ceremony, which traditionally takes place just ahead of the Oscars, went down on Friday (February 28).

Going into the event, Borderlands, Joker: Folie a Deux, Madame Web, Megalopolis and Reagan led the field of nominees with six nods a piece. After it was all said and done, Madame Web took home the most “wins,” receiving three trophies.

The 45th Razzie Awards results are in. Sony’s Madame Web is the clear winner/loser of this year’s dragging of cinematic mediocrity with three wins, including Worst Picture, Worst Actress for Dakota Johnson, and Worst Screenplay. Madame Web taking the top prize is unsurprising given the movie’s abysmal quality. It was my worst film of 2024 and a Golden Schmoe nominee for worst movie of 2024, only to be beaten by Todd Phillips’s Joker: Folie a Deux. Dakota Johnson hardly tried to defend the film during its PR tour, saying she “probably will never make anything like it again.” To be fair, she enjoyed working with her castmates, who, despite circumstances, gave Madame Web the old college try, but the film turned into something...

The Academy Awards take place on Sunday evening and, as has become the tradition, the full list of "winners" from the 2025 Razzie Awards has just been unveiled.

Madame Web took three wins for "Worst Picture," "Worst Screenplay," and an arguably well-deserved "Worst Actress" for lead star Dakota Johnson. It wasn't the only comic book adaptation to walk away with a prize, though, as Joker: Folie à Deux nabbed "Worst Sequel" and "Worst Screen Combo" for Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga.

The vast majority of celebrities and filmmakers ignore the Razzies, while few interviewers have the nerve - and understandably so - to ask celebrities about their "wins."

However, Francis Ford Coppola, who earned "Worst Director" for his critically panned Megalopolis, issued a scathing retort on social media today.

Well, we still don't have anything to go on regarding what the 13th season of American Horror Story will be about, but one thing we do know is that star Jessica Lange will not be returning under any circumstance. She made that quite clear during a recent interview with Irish radio station Spin 1038 while promoting her new movie Long Day's Journey Into Night.

Lange was asked if she'd be on season 13 and she immediately replied, "Oh, Christ no," noting that she hadn't done the show in about 10 years or so and apparently has no desire to change that. Even when the follow-up question was if she'd go back if specifically asked to, Lange said no, making it clear she's done her time on the FX horror anthology.

It's official: Scott Foley is coming back as Roman Bridger. The Scream 7 actor confirmed that he would be reprising his Scream 3 role in the upcoming slasher instead of playing a new character.

Four award-winning performers have been tapped to star in an exciting new comedy from Neon, directed by Emmy winner Wendey Stanzler. Titled Old Pals, Deadline reports that Golden Globe and Emmy winners Henry Winkler(Barry) and Brian Cox (Succession), alongside the prolific Emma Roberts(We’re the Millers) and Golden Globe and Emmy nominee Evan Rachel Wood (Westworld), will lead the project. The film’s director, Stanzler, is known for her work in TV comedy and drama series, including Sex and the City, Parks and Recreation, Party Down, You’re the Worst, and For All Mankind.

Exclusive: Golden Globe and Emmy winners Henry Winkler (Barry) and Brian Cox (Succession) are set to star with Emma Roberts (We’re the Millers) and Golden Globe and Emmy nominee Evan Rachel Wood (Westworld) in comedy Old Pals, which will be directed by Emmy winner Wendey Stanzler (Sex And The City).

Based on a screenplay by Rick Cisario, the fun-sounding film follows comical opposites and recent widowers, Ira (Winkler) and Jimmy (Cox), who are forced to become friends by their conspiring daughters (Roberts & Wood). Their initial stubbornness gives way to a journey of unexpected friendship, proving that family has a way of bringing even the most unlikely people together.

Neon International will represent the foreign sales rights and introduce the film at the European FIlm Market in Berlin next week while CAA Media Finance and Verve Ventures will represent the North American rights.

Per ScreenRant, Sony has officially updated its 2025 release calendar, which is now notably absent of a previously untitled Marvelfilm that had been slated for release on June 27, 2025. Though this move comes without any sort of statement on Sony's part, this coupled with the apparent cancelations of both the planned El Muerto feature film starring Bad Bunny and the Hypno Hustler feature film starring Doland Glover makes it painfully clear that Sony's Spider-Man Universe has effectively been shuttered for good.

The nominees were originally set to be announced on January 16, but due to wildfires in Southern California, the announcement was delayed several times, eventually being revealed on January 21.

The nominees were chosen by 1,202 members of the Golden Raspberry Foundation, including movie fans, critics, and journalists. This year, many comic book adaptations received nominations, such as ‘The Crow,’ ‘Madame Web,’ ‘Joker: Folie à Deux,’ and ‘Kraven the Hunter.’

Several well-known actors, including Ariana DeBose, Cate Blanchett, and Joaquin Phoenix, were also mentioned, with Jon Voight getting a nod for his roles in four films. 2024 was really bad for superhero adaptations considering that the movies received eighteen nominations overall.

Not too surprisingly, Warner Bros.' Joker sequel picked up the most nominations, with stars Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga up for Worst Actor, Todd Phillips for Worst Director, and more. Sony Pictures' Madame Web was a close second with noms in six categories, tied with Megalopolis and Reagan.

Sydney Sweeney looks set to continue widening her scope in Hollywood as she's set to star in an upcoming Edgar Allan Poe adaptation. The 27-year-old actor is in talks to feature in the "darkly comedic" A24 flick, The Masque of the Red Death.

According to Deadline, A24 has been eyeing Sweeney for the lead role in The Masque of the Red Death, a "revisionist" take on the eponymous Poe short story. The Plague helmer Charlie Polinger will direct the project and pen its screenplay, with A24 handling domestic distribution. Details regarding The Masque of the Red Death are being withheld. However, the short story chronicles a prince who tries to avoid a deadly plague known as the Red Death by hiding in his abbey.
