According to Deadline, Adam Cooper and Bill Collage (Exodus: Gods & Kings) are rewriting the film adaptation of Assassin’s Creed for Ubisoft® and New Regency. Mike Lesslie, and Ubisoft’s Eli Richbourg wrote the original draft.
Assassin’s Creed, which will star Michael Fassbender, is set to hit the big screen on August 7, 2015. The original game enters on the adventures of a bartender who finds out he comes from a secret and historic line of assassins. He is captured by a corporation who forces him to hunt down historic artifacts using a device that brings forward the memories as well as skills of his ancestors.
Fassbender and his partner Connor McCaughan are producing the project.

I’m the worst kind of sports fan, in the sense that I don’t like sport (at all), so hearing that Gerard Butler has signed on to star in upcoming soccer movie Dynamo didn’t get me all that excited. Well, not until I found out that it’s set during World War II and has Nazis in it. Now you’ve got my attention, Hollywood.
Based on Andy Dougan’s non-fiction book Dynamo: Defending the Honour of Kiev, the film is based on the true story of a Ukrainian soccer team and their Nazi captors. Butler is set to play Nikolai Trusevich, the team’s goalie and captain, who inspired the Nazis to put together a super-team, and, like, play against them. The resulting game came to be known as “The Death Match.” Seriously.

The Scottish-born star Gerard Butler has been set to headline in Dynamo, a true story based on the nonfiction novel ‘Dynamo: Defending the Honour of Kiev’ by Andy Dougan.
As Butler likes football (he played for charity last year) and is a lifelong Celtic fan, and will next star in the soccer comedy Playing for Keeps, it will be easy for him to appear in a story which chronicles a historic game dubbed ‘The Death Match’ between an occupied Ukrainian soccer team and their Nazi invaders during WWII.
More precisely, the 42-year-old thesp will take on the role of Nikolai Trusevich, the all-star goalie who leads his team and encouraging the entire city of Kiev to fight back against the Nazis.
Dynamo is scheduled to shoot in Europe next year with an adapted screenplay by Eli Richbourg (The Phantom of the Opera).

Gerard Butler will star in the soccer-themed WW2 true story tale "Dynamo" at Riviera Pictures, FlynnPictureCo. and Pathe.
Based on the novel by Andy Dougan, the story deals with 'The Death Match', a landmark soccer game that took place in occupied Ukraine between a starving local soccer team and a ‘super team’ of Nazi players during World War II.
Butler will play Nikolai Trusevich, the all-star goalie who ultimately inspired the entire battered city of Kiev.
Eli Richbourg adapted the screenplay and talks with potential directors are underway. Shooting will take place in Europe in 2013.
The project should be familiar stuff to Butler who also starred as goalie Frank Borghi in 2005's "The Game of Their Lives". That film dealt with the true story of an underdog U.S. soccer team who won the World Cup in Brazil in 1950.

When "The Dark Knight Rises" hits theaters next year, it will present the final chapter in Christopher Nolan's record-breaking Batman trilogy that relaunched, redefined, and reinvigorated DC's iconic superhero. And while there's been no shortage of reboots on the big and small screens lately, few have been as successful as the "Inception" filmmaker's take on Gotham's favorite vigilante -- especially when you consider the franchise's status prior to Nolan's arrival.
After finding success in 1995's "Batman Forever," which pitted the hero (played by Val Kilmer) against Riddler (Jim Carrey) and Two-Face (Tommy Lee Jones), director Joel Schumacher was convinced to return for a sequel. The resulting film, 1997's critically panned "Batman & Robin," was such an overwhelming disappointment that it became known as the film that "killed" the Batman franchise.

Certain news stories have us smiling from ear-to-ear. Even a tad speechless. The sheer absurdity of the life of a celebrity can sometimes be ... well ... strange. Especially if you're Nicolas Cage and you have a new home invasion flick coming out.
For actor Nicolas Cage, making the new thriller movie Trespass hit close to home.
Cage, at the Toronto Film Festival along with director Joel Schumacher promoting the film about a home invasion, said that he has actually lived through the nightmare in real life.
"It was two in the morning. I was living in Orange County at the time and was asleep with my wife. My two-year old at the time was in another room. I opened my eyes, and there was a naked man wearing my leather jacket eating a Fudgesicle in front of my bed," he told reporters on Wednesday.
"I know it sounds funny ... but it was horrifying.

A new image from director Joel Schumacher’s thriller “Trespass” has dropped online. The film, starring Nicolas Cage and Nicole Kidman, recently begin production in Shreveport, Louisiana. Kidman and Cage play a wealthy couple whose lakefront dream house is the target of a break-in. ”There are cross-connections between the family and the [criminals], and many secrets come out,” says director Joel Schumacher (Phone Booth), who had to dissuade Cage from playing the villain. ”I know Nic would have been brilliant as the bad guy, but I wanted him to play the hero. It went back and forth and finally ended up where it should be.” As recently as two months ago it was rumored that Cage’s participation in “Trespass” was questionable, though that issue seems to have worked itself out. Eli Richbourg and Gajdusek wrote the script. Cam Gigandet also stars, and this “Trespass” should not be confused with the 1992 “Trespass” with Ice-t,...

The last year or so has seen Nicole Kidman seek out more action-oriented projects. While The Invasion and The Interpreter didn't set the box office on fire, she remains undaunted. As she develops The Eighth Wonder (which lets her play a Lara Croft / Indiana Jones action-archaeologist), she's decided to share weapons with that King of Eccentricity, Nicolas Cage. According to Variety, Kidman and Cage are pairing up for the thriller Trespass, and it's a casting coup that's just full of kooky possibilities. But it's being directed by Joel Schumacher, so I imagine those will go untapped.
Trespass centers on a husband and wife who are taken hostage by four very bad men. These thugs think Kidman and Cage are the ticket to easy money, but naturally, complications ensue. Variety mentions there's "betrayal and deception", which could just mean its a remake of Kidman's Malice. (Spoiler alert?)
