In the grand tradition of Deliverance (1972), Rituals (‘77), and Up the Creek (1984) comes Hunter’s Blood (’86), a backwoods hicksploitation actioner that more than gets by with a cast handpicked by the B movie gods and a script wittier than it has to be. Who says the outdoors hold no charm? (Well, normally that would be me.)

Based on the novel by Jere Cunningham (who later wrote the story for Judgment Night, which is just the urban version of the same tale), Hunter’s Blood was released by Palace Pictures in the U.K. in September, and picked up by Roger Corman’s Concorde Pictures for release stateside in January of ’87, where soon after it was destined to languish on home video shelves, with store clerks puzzled as to where it should be stocked. (By the by, I always saw it in the Horror section, where I think it rightfully belonged.) Hard...

When ex-firefighter Scott Nylander (Casper Van Dien) and a group of ecologists approach a silo filled with oil to hang a banner with an eco-message, they suddenly realize they came to the wrong place at the wrong time. There’s a bomb attached which is going to explode in a few seconds! As our heroes are hiding, a mass explosion causes a huge flaming tornado, which starts to destroy everything in its way. It turns out that the silo contained an experimental fuel called Mt-11 crafted by the Synco Company. Scott and his friends are accused of being terrorists that caused the explosion. Chased by Synco mercenaries, they have to stop the fire twister, before it destroys La.

Season four of Marvel and ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is right around the corner, and hot on the fiery heels of Yahoo’s unveiling of Gabriel Luna’s Ghost Rider, anticipation is fast beginning to reach a fever-pitch. Lumping fuel on that fire, there’s also chatter that the fourth season of Agents could be its last, meaning that the Powers That Be over at Marvel and ABC will be gunning to engineer a sure-fire hit.

Ghost Rider ought to herald a strong start come September 20, but both parties involved are already thinking further afield, with a fresh batch of images previewing episode numero two, “Meet the New Boss.” It’s understood that said installment will herald a clash between Quake and Ghost Rider, though it appears Marvel is keeping that sequence behind closed doors until the time is right – i.e. somewhere between September 20 and September 27.

Five years on from the moment Nicolas Cage had a crack at the character of Johnny Blaze, Marvel has introduced its new take on the infamous Ghost Rider ahead of his imminent appearance in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D..

Those who have kept pace with Ghost Rider’s journey to ABC’s hit ensemble series will know fine well that Gabriel Luna is actually stepping into the fiery boots of Robbie Reyes – not Johnny Blaze – a Mexican-American character who supplanted Marvel’s iconic stunt driver in the comics two years ago.

Promising an “edgier” and “grittier” take on the hell-raiser, it goes some ways to explaining the overhauled look, too, with Luna’s anti-hero sporting some new duds along with a smoking hot Dodge Charger – how apropos as opposed to the ol’ flaming motorcycle. Thanks to a brand spanking new official synopsis for Marvel's Agent's of S.H.I.E.L.D. we now know exactly when to expect to meet Robbie Reyes, aka Ghost Rider. And the wait won't be long.

When fans initially heard that the premiere of the fourth season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was titled "The Ghost," some thought it would have something to do with Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg). Turns out, that title has everything to do with Ghost Rider (Gabriel Luna), and it looks like the character is going to loom very large this season.

But that's not all. Included in the official synopsis for the new season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is some interesting casting news. We've known for some time that Robbie's brother Gabe will be an important part of the story, but we didn't know who'd be playing him. Turns out that ABC tapped Fear The Walking Dead...

Though he’s not actually in full flaming-skull mode just yet, the first batch of promotional images for the upcoming season 4 premiere of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. do provide us with a glimpse of Gabriel Luna (Matador, Wicked City) as Robbie Reyes, who we will see transform into the Spirit of Vengeance at some point.

The stills also feature Agents May (Ming-Na Wen) and Mackenzie (Henry Simmons), who will be heading up some kind of top secret “specialist strike teams”. This has led to speculation that S.H.I.E.L.D.’s counter-terrorist Special Mission Unit, S.T.R.I.K.E., might also be making their debut.
