Everybody sees dead people in “I Still See You,” a slickly produced but none-too-scary thriller designed for that teen audience which prefers that its spooky Halloween fare involve cute guys of variable mortality fawning around a mildly misfit quirky-girl protagonist. If that sounds kinda “Twilight,” you’ve got that right — the source material is a standalone novel by Ya specialist Daniel Waters, whose “Generation Dead” series more or less substituted zombies for vampires in a similar supernatural teen romance saga.
Here, we have live boys and ghost boys alike fluttering around the suburban Goth flame of Bella Thorne in a movie that will no doubt play best to the book’s fans. Newcomers will find this adapted tale’s fantasy logic arbitrary, its plot convoluted, and the sum effect wildly unconvincing without being nearly so fun. Still, it’s given a suitably gauzy feel by director Scott Speer that will appeal to the target demo.

"Everyone remembers where they were that day – the day of the event." Lionsgate has debuted an official trailer for a strange new supernatural thriller titled I Still See You, adapted from a novel titled "Break My Heart 1,000 Times", which was the film's original title before this newer, simpler one. I Still See You is the latest from filmmaker Scott Speer and it has some intriguing things going on, kind of like ghosts but caused by some weird sci-fi event and then the second half of this throws in a few more twists. Bella Thorne stars as Veronica in I Still See You, along with Richard Harmon, Amy Price-Francis, Hugh Dillon, Shaun Benson, Dave Brown, Thomas Elms, Louis Herthum, and Dermot Mulroney. I will say this caught my attention, for sure, I like the sci-fi/horror mix. I'm curious to see more. Here's the first official trailer for Scott Speer's I Still See You,...

The King of police procedural dramas has returned. Jessica "Jess" King (Amy Price-Francis) proved in Season One of King that she has what it takes to lead Toronto's Major Crimes Task Force, taking down murderers, rapists, and drug traffickers. Things will get a bit more challenging for her in Season Two, however, with new team members to break in, crimes that hit a bit too close to home, and plenty of baby-daddy drama. Jess' regal last name is a moniker befitting her attitude and attributes, but she wasn't the first — and she won't be the last — "monarch" on TV. Check out our list of TV shows with royal titles.

Connelly will co-write the pilot with Eric Overmyer ("Treme," "Homicide").
Amazon has also released a few more details about Carter's pilot "The After," which it ordered a couple months ago. So it's finally been proven that the ladies can go head to head with the fellas when it comes to buddy-cop comedies. But there's more big news in the world of female law enforcement officers in movies and TV. Friday sees the Reelz premiere of the police drama King. In honor of the confident and sassy Staff Sergeant Jessica King, played by Amy Price-Francis, we thought we'd choose our top ten favorite actresses to have played law enforcement officials from television and the big screen. Take a look and see if your favorites made the cut.

A new police procedural is coming to Reelz, with King making its premiere on July 5th at 10p Et/ 7p Pt. The series follows Jessica King (Amy Price-Francis), an unconventional cop whose obsessive approach to police work and keen eye for detail make it possible to crack even the toughest case. She’s fearless, imaginative, and possesses the rare quality of not needing to be liked — and this is one quality that gets Detective King into a lot of trouble.
The first episode shows Jessica King being put in charge of Toronto’s Major Crimes Task Force, a unit that handles the most volatile and challenging cases, everything from rape and murder to gang violence and robbery. If that weren't enough to deal with, there is also plenty of resentment coming from her co-workers, not to mention a somewhat strained marriage at home. But, it's pretty clear that King will...

How far would you go to protect your family? Star Brendan Fraser has already gone to the ends of the Earth to beat off mummies and then the Earth's center to flog the dinosaurs. In the new film Split Decision he may even have to go farther than that!
THR reports that Brendan Fraser will star in writer-director Damian Lee’s action-thriller for Rollercoaster Entertainment and Vortex Words.
The plot kicks off when two children (Holly Deveaux and Christian Martin) witness a murder while on a wilderness camping trip with a family friend (Daniel Kash). When two criminal brothers (Dominic Purcell and Ethan Suplee) start to hunt down the children to silence them, Fraser’s father figure sets out to rescue them. Amy Price-Francis appears as the children’s mother.
More on this one soon as production is gearing up in Ontario.

Remember when Brendan Fraser’s name in the credits promised a good movie with plenty of laughs? Yeah, it’s been awhile. The former mummy hunter might not be bringing laughs this time but he might be trying for another good film with Split Decision.
For awhile, it looked like Fraser could do no wrong, appearing in comedies like Encino Man and taking the lead in the Mummy franchise. However, his star soon dimmed, with some of his latest works (Journey to the Center of the Earth, Furry Vengeance) best left forgotten. Now, Fraser is trying once again to get attention with an action film, but a cliched plot might already be a bad sign.
I know there’s nothing new under the sun but children facing mortal peril because of a crime they witnessed is about as old as you can get in terms of storyline, and that’s...

Brendan Fraser has been struggling on the big screen in the last few years after The Mummy dried up and Dwayne Johnson muscled him out of the Journey franchise. That being said, Fraser has a slew of projects lined up for the next few years; count the action-thriller Split-Decision among them. Starring as a father who must protect his children from killer brothers after witnessing a murder, Split-Decision doesn't sound like the typical light-hearted fantasy fare we're used to seeing in Fraser's family films. Hit the jump to see who'll be filling in the roles of Split-Decision. As Showcase's "King" kicks off its second season, lead character Jessica King (Amy Price-Francis) sure has her hands full. The fiery Toronto detective heads the Major Crimes Task Force, where the pressure and cases keep piling up. Her husband, Detective Danny Sless (Gabriel Hogan), has been battling a gambling addiction. After numerous attempts, King is finally pregnant, but it's quite possibly her co-worker Detective Derek Spears' (Alan Van Sprang) baby. And on top of it all, her brassy, tell-it-as-it-is attitude hasn't earned her many friends on the force.
On set, things are much more relaxed, as executive producer Greg Spottiswood, Price-Francis and Van Sprang sat down to discuss the engaging cop drama with The Huffington Post TV Canada, and how much the show has changed since season 1.
Gender Bender
At one point, Jessica King could easily have been Joshua King. For too long, the police force has been considered one big boys' club.

After a season of controversy where fans provided the demand, CBS provided the supply in the form of Jennifer "J.J." Jareau's declaration that she is returning to the Bau team in the Criminal Minds season finale, "Supply & Demand".
While exciting, to be sure, she came back in the last 40 seconds of the episode with one line to Rossi that confirmed she was coming back.
This was also not really a surprise to many of the show's die-hard fans, since it's been rumored for more than a month that A.J. Cook was returning full time. But it is nice to end the season of at least one show with happy news!
I was on pins and needles after the initial meeting where the Bau team members were each informed that they would be given an opportunity to leave.

Shockingly there only seem to be about a dozen Canadian scripted hour-long dramas right now which are not mini-series. Those are time travel therapy drama Being Erica which was recently renewed for a fourth and final season for 2011-2012, serial killer drama Durham County (not yet renewed for 2011-2012), police drama Flashpoint (Already renewed for 2011-2012), horse drama Heartland (Already renewed for 2011-2012),private investigator drama Republic of Doyle (Already renewed for 2011-2012) summer hit Rookie Blue (already renewed), period police drama Murdoch Mysteries (new season premieres March 16, 2011), psychic drama The Listener (not yet renewed for next season), co-productions with Syfy Haven and Sanctuary which are already renewed, Since September there have only been three new hour-long dramas (excluding miniseries): Lost Girl, Shattered and Blackstone of which only Lost Girl was successful and is already renewed for a second season the other two while not officially cancelled are not expected to return.

When Life Unexpected returns for its second season, the union of Ryan and Cate won't be this show's only change.
It also moves to Tuesday nights, as The CW pairs the series with One Tree Hill in the hopes of creating a new, popular block of programming.
As for Life Unexpected spoilers, producers have hinted that Cate and Baze will still have a chance together... although the latter will also meet a pair of new love interests. They'll be played by Arielle Kebbel and Amy Price-Francis, both of whom are featured in the season premiere photos below.
Titled "Ocean Uncharted," the Life Unexpected season two premiere airs on September 14.

We'll admit it: we can't wait for the Sept. 14 premiere of The CW's "Life Unexpected." In 2006, "Everwood" left a hole in our hearts, and the family-centric "Lux" is just the remedy. We've gotten our hands on some photos from the first few episodes of Season 2, and we can't help but speculate.
Of course, Arielle Kebbel is taking a trip to Portland, and now that we've seen the first shots of her as Baze's new bartender, Paige, we're thinking that sparks are bound to fly. She's definitely not Dean's mousy wife from "Gilmore Girls" anymore! Maybe she's just what Baze (Kristoffer Polaha) needs to take his mind off of Cate (Shiri Appleby)?
She's not the only new girl in town. Who's the feisty red-head played by Amy Price-Francis? Her name is Kelly, and she's already making us nervous. In these shots, Ryan (Kerr Smith) is reading her book, which is titled "You Can't Have it All.

When we last left the folks on Life Unexpected, Cate and Ryan had exchanged marriage vows. So, that's the end for her and Baze, right?
Wrong, says creator Liz Tigelaar. In an interview with TV Guide, she make it clear that these two aren't over, while also providing an in-depth look at season two. Here it is:
Give us a preview of season two: Season 2 is about: Who am I now? Who am I now that I've been adopted? Who am I now that I'm married? Who am I now that I'm a step-father or a father? Who am I now that I lost the girl? Who am I now that my daughter didn't choose me? Who am I now that I got what I wanted? Who do my parents expect me to be?
What if I'm not what they really wanted? What if they got a lemon or a dud?...

Both roles will be recurring and both were first reported by Michael Ausiello of Entertainment Weekly.

Earlier today we reported that Melina Kanakaredes was leaving the spin-off series CSI:ny after a solid six-season run. Though her departure may have something to do with the series possibly running its course (after all, the show is moving to Fridays which isn’t a great day for a series to land on), one thing’s for sure: she has quickly been replaced. At the time of our initial report Sela Ward, who played Stacy Warner on earlier seasons of House M.D., was the frontrunner. An official press release from CBS has confirmed she is joining the cast as “an experienced investigator from Washington, DC, whose work is driven by her empathy for the victim.” Her first episode will be the season premiere this fall.

With a title like Life Unexpected, you can kinda predict a few surprises from The CW sleeper. The latest? Two new femmes fatales are about to add spice to Life. First up, model-turned-scream queen Arielle Kebbel (a.k.a. Dean’s rebound girl Lindsay Lister on Gilmore Girls) has been cast as Paige, the new hottie in town who may well wind up tending more than bar for Baze (Kristoffer Polaha).
Next in line, Amy Price-Francis (24, The Cleaner) has landed the role of Kelly, a conservative author/chatterbox who becomes a partner on the radio show that Cate (Shiri Appleby) and Ryan (Kerr Smith) front.

Now that the issues involving Lux's family situation have been resolved on the CW's 'Life Unexpected,' it's time for the show to start moving into a more traditional soap direction. To help, creators have brought in three fresh new faces, one for each of the leads. The Ausiello Files is reporting the additions of Shaun Sipos, Arielle Kebbel and Amy Price-Francis to the cast.
Sipos, who was last seen on the short-lived CW reboot 'Melrose Place,' takes on the role of Eric, a new teacher at Westmonte High. As the role is described as recurring, we think it's pretty safe to guess that Lux (Britt Robertson) is going to have a new crush come the new school year.

A&E has decided to get rid of another original drama series. After two years on the air, they're dropping The Cleaner.
In The Cleaner, Benjamin Bratt plays William Banks, a recovering drug addict from Los Angeles. Over the last few years, the face of cable television has been rapidly changing and last year A&E got back in the mix of dramatic television programming with The Cleaner, the network's first original scripted drama in six years. The show, starring Benjamin Bratt as William Banks - based off the amazing real-life exploits of extreme interventionist Warren Boyd - resonated with viewers enough for the network to bring the show back for a second season, which premiered last month on the network. I was invited to the CBS Studio lot in Studio City, California to take a look at the set of this hit series and talk to some of its stars. While set visits are always a good time and it's always fun to talk to the stars, I learned that this unique series is about much more than just entertainment, but before I could find that out.

It’s a testament to the star power and likability of Benjamin Bratt that The Cleaner is as compelling for as long as it is, which is however long it takes for the audience to realize how retrograde the show is in its political worldview. That may come in the pilot episode, when a confrontation between a teenage junkie and his concerned friend reads like it was written for an after school special, or later in the first season, when the results of drug addiction start to read like a laundry list of symptoms prophesied in Reefer Madness (death, bugged-out eyes, and lost teeth are all present here), but it will happen. This sort of nostalgia for the past in terms of drug politics keeps the show from ever getting the credibility required to merit the critical buzzwords such as “bold” and “gripping” that the show is so clearly gunning...
