Bogdan George Apetri’s “Miracle” took home the top prize in the Romanian Days competition at the Transilvania Intl. Film Festival, which saw nine first-time directors among the 12 filmmakers competing in the annual showcase of domestic cinema.

It’s the first time such a formidable number of debuts have featured in the competition, offering a snapshot of what the fest’s artistic director Mihai Chirilov describes as a “balanced landscape” of new and established voices in Romania’s celebrated film industry.

On any normal day, a project that involved Channing Tatum and Joseph Gordon-Levitt would pique my interest. It turns out that the project that they are currently involved with together sounds amazing!

It was recently announced that Tatum’s pet project television show, Comrade Detective, will be hitting Amazon on August 4th of this year. Never heard of it before? Me either, but now that I have, I can’t wait to see it.

The series is being presented as a half-hour 1980s TV series from Romania and Tatum and Gordon-Levitt will be providing the voice dubbing for the two Romanian actors, Florin Piersic Jr. and Corneliu Ulici, that are playing Detectives Gregor Anghel and Iosef Baciu. You know, because in the 80s Romania wasn't showing English speaking TV shows. Here's the synopsis:

Set in 1980s Romania, the half-hour cop show stars Romanian actors Florin Piersic Jr. and Corneliu Ulici as lead Detectives Gregor Anghel and Iosef Baciu. The series is filmed in Romanian and the later dubbed over in English, to stay true to its nostalgic inspiration. It has been a long time since I’ve reviewed a direct-to-market Steven Seagal movie, in fact its been some time since I’ve so much as watched one for my own “pleasure”. I skipped over Sniper: Special Ops, Asian Connection, Code of Honour, and the most recent Dtv release End of a Gun, maily because after buying, watching, and often reviewing, every single film starring Seagal until the aforementioned I was suffering from Seagal burnout… A condition that often comes about in an audience when they realise that the once-agile former martial arts superstar has succumbed to appearing in extended cameos in the hopes that long-suffering fans – like myself – will buy the film on his name...

Action star Steven Seagal is back in the kick ass film End Of A Gun.

The story follows a mall security guard (but a former federal agent) who tangles with drug kingpin after saving a woman.

The film also stars Florin Piersic Jr., Jade Ewen, Jacob Grodnik and Jonathan Rosenthal.

End Of A Gun  will be playing in select theaters and on VOD today.
