Yvonne Perry(I)
- Actress
Yvonne grew up next to an apple orchard in a small town outside of Albany, NY. She is one of six children born to an Italian hairdresser father and an Irish mother who managed a pediatrician's office. If her family were the Brady Bunch, then she would definitely be Marcia.
With a BFA from Adelphi U and an MA from UAlbany, along with stints at The American Conservatory Theatre in SF and The Royal National in London, Yvonne has been a lifelong learner in her craft. She also has extensive training in the new field of Intimacy Direction for both stage and screen. Yvonne has travelled considerably between gigs, and has raised two daughters that she and her husband Mark adopted from China.
In the early 90s, Yvonne won As The World Turns its first Soap Opera Award - as Outstanding Female Newcomer in Daytime for originating the role of "Rosanna." She has been able to channel her teenage enthusiasm for beauty pageants into many supplemental jobs as a corporate spokeswoman. She is just as comfortable in front of a green screen as she is in a v/o booth. She enjoys hiking the Adirondacks, sewing quilts out of old blue jeans, growing tomatoes in her garden and baking legendary pies.
Yvonne serves as Chair of the Greater Albany Area Liaison for Actors' Equity (2020), is an Artistic Associate at Capital Repertory Theatre, and teaches and directs at several upstate colleges. While remaining active in her community, Yvonne still spends a lot of time at her Manhattan apartment. Watching her colleagues perform, whether onstage in NYC, the Berkshires or the Capital Region - or on a soundstage in LA or Atlanta - is one of her greatest joys.
