Ever notice how the young thespians portraying Audrey and Rusty Griswold in the Vacation movies kept getting yoinked and replaced? It wasn’t because they were terrible actors. The problem was the movies’ infrequent release schedule, meaning the actors always aged out of the parts before they had a chance to film another one. Here’s the definitive ranking of the five pairs of Audreys and Rustys rolling around the comedy multiverse.
5 Vegas Vacation
Ethan Embry and Marisol Nichols are older, more jaded versions of Rusty and Audrey — which makes sense, given the film’s location. With the help of a fake ID, Rusty somehow wins five cars playing slot machines. And Audrey gets sexualized for the first time in the series, landing a job as a go-go dancer after visiting a strip club with her pole-dancing cousin. Yuck.

TV shows are supposed to develop as their seasons progress, as the original format of a series might not always fit. In some cases, when a TV show's premise stops working quickly, this opens the door for the writers to experiment with more fantastical and outlandish narratives, leaving behind the story that was once so rooted in reality. While this can sometimes be the perfect thing and keep a show on the air for longer, it can also come out of nowhere and give the TV series a reputation for jumping the shark, making audiences take it less seriously.
Many long-running TV shows never changed their original premise, but this is the exception, not the rule. It's more likely that a series will grow and evolve throughout its run, finding new formulas and settings that the characters flourish in and that audiences respond to. There's nothing wrong with magical elements and heightened reality,...

They're the most famous duo to play the Griswold children, Audrey and Rusty, so why didn't Juliette Lewis and Johnny Galecki return beyond National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation? Of the original National Lampoon's Vacation movies, the third outing Christmas Vacation has emerged as the favorite. Of course, the holiday setting gives audiences an excuse to revisit it every Christmas, but it's also just the funniest and warmest. The sequel continued the unspoken tradition of recasting Audrey and Rusty each time, with Juliette Lewis and Johnny Galecki inheriting the roles from Dana Hill and Jason Lively.
Christmas Vacation found Lewis and Galecki at the beginning of their acting careers, with the duo soon finding fame elsewhere. Lewis went on to roles in 1991's Cape Fear remake, the controversial Natural Born Killers, and more recently, the acclaimed thriller Yellowjackets. Galecki went to roles in two of the biggest sitcoms of the last few...

'Tis the season for everyone's annual holiday movie watch (and/or re-watch), that magical time of year where we gorge ourselves on all manner of films that take place in and around the holidays. For some cinephiles, this means delving into the darkest depths of "is it a Christmas movie because it has one scene with a decorated tree in it?," while for others, it means a first-time or 70th-time viewing of canonized holiday classics. One of the joys of watching a vintage Christmas film for the first time is seeing some of your favorite actors turn up looking impossibly young. For instance, this writer just watched 1995's "Home for the Holidays" the other night, and was delighted to see a younger Robert Downey Jr. doing his signature motormouth patter.
While that film is a bit obscure in the holiday canon, "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" is a movie that almost needs no introduction.

When a television show is being developed, casting can make or break a show. Once a character is cast, they're rarely recast. It takes a lot of work and effort to find the right person for a role to fit the vision of the creators. Fans quickly fall in love and have favorites, especially when the character is well-written and well-acted.
When recasting occurs, it disrupts the audience's viewing and makes suspension of disbelief harder to accept. Sometimes it's brought on by on-set difficulties. Other times, a cast member wanted to pursue other career opportunities. Just as much as casting can make or break a show, recasting a character can do the same.
Charles Melton Replaced Ross Butler in Riverdale Reggie Mantle
Reggie Mantle is a character in Riverdale originally played by Ross Butler. Reggie is the captain of the Riverdale Bulldogs and emulates all the characteristics of a stereotypical jock.

Riverdale star Kj Aapa is set to star as Bradley Nowell, the former lead singer of Sublime, in a biopic about the hit band. Sublime was a groundbreaking band of the early 1990s, mixing punk, reggae, and ska together in a signature sound that gave classic songs like "What I Got" and "Santeria." Lead singer and guitarist Bradley Nowell tragically passed away at the age of 28 in 1996 following a heroin overdose. His legacy lives on through the band's incredible successes, and his son, Jakob Nowell, has been Sublime's new lead singer starting in 2023.
According to Deadline, Apa will star as Nowell in a new film centered around Sublime. Nowell's original Sublime members Bud Gaugh and Eric Wilson will act as executive producers on the movie, as will Bradley's widow Troy Nowell and son Jakob on behalf of the Nowell estate. Hulu's best rom-coms combine classic tropes with fresh storytelling to create enjoyable movies. The chemistry between the main cast is crucial for a good romantic comedy. Hulu offers a mix of classic and newer rom-coms, giving viewers a variety of options to choose from.
Romantic comedies are often dismissed as a genre as a whole for being cheesy, but there are plenty of romantic comedies that can take classic tropes, combine them with stellar performances, and end up with great movies, which is exactly what the best rom-coms on Hulu are able to do. Hulu offers a variety of romantic movies, and while a lot of the offerings on the streamer lean more toward the dramatic end of the genre, there is still a rom-com for everyone.

It's never a dull moment whenever Hiram Lodge returns to Riverdale. We can always guarantee he's lying or being underhanded about something.
In this case, Hollywood's big TV star is in major hot water on Riverdale Season 7 Episode 13.
Plenty of accusations and heartbreak marked his big return to the world of Riverdale. A somber chapter that exposed the ugliness of the town and the time period.
"Chapter One Thirty: The Crucible" left us feeling grim and sad in this thought-provoking chapter. With a story focused on paranoia, betrayals, and accusations, Riverdale once again showed how ugly Riverdale 1955 could be.
For much of Riverdale Season 7, the style played more on the sweet and sugary feeling of the 1950s, even through the murders. But the darker reality of the decade is the juicier draw that feels more like the show we love.
Like for instance, the terrible accusations made against Mrs. Thornton.

While Fp Jones (Skeet Ulrich) is a significant character on Riverdale, Ulrich decided to leave the teen drama show. The complex, unreliable parent of Jughead (Cole Sprouse) and Jellybean (Trinity Likins) and the leader of the gang The Southside Serpents (until Jughead replaces him in the season 2 finale), F.P is often swept up in intense, dangerous situations. He has a brief prison sentence for lying about Jason Blossom's (Trevor Stines) season 1 killer, reunites with Betty Cooper's (Lili Reinhart) mother Alice (Mädchen Amick) in season 2, and becomes the town sheriff in season 3.
Ulrich decided to leave Riverdale before season 5, and another parent character said goodbye at the same time: Hermione Lodge (Marisol Nichols), Veronica Lodge's (Camila Mendes) mother. But while Ulrich played a father in this popular teen drama, he actually became famous for his '90s teen roles, including unlikable character Chris Hooker in The Craft, the 1996 horror film.

For an actor, landing a role on a TV series provides steady work in a business in which employment is usually uncertain. If that show becomes a hit, then all bets are off, with the gig escalating to something more akin to winning the lottery thanks to instant celebrity and an often giant salary. Of course, the odds of being cast in a hit TV series can be just as improbable as hitting the jackpot, which is why it can seem puzzling when a star decides walk away from a hit show. Sometimes, it's because an actor has been fired for whatever reason, but on other occasions, the exit comes at the behest of the star, who makes the risky decision to leave a sure thing for an unknown future. For viewers who earn in a year what a TV star rakes in for one episode, this can cause head-scratching,...

It's undeniable that the films in the National Lampoon's "Vacation" franchise have become comedy classics. The misadventures of the Griswold family of patriarch Clark (Chevy Chase), wife Ellen (Beverly D'Angelo), daughter Audrey (Dana Barron/Dana Hill/Juliette Lewis/Marisol Nichols/Leslie Mann), son Rusty (Anthony Michael Hall/Jason Lively/Johnny Galecki/Ethan Embry/Ed Helms), and cousin Eddie (Randy Quaid) have become seminal watches for multiple generations, and remain endlessly quotable after nearly 40 years.
The Griswolds were a relatable look at the average, white, middle-class American family, replacing the Norman Rockwell-esque presentation of yesteryear with more authentic and unconventional problems sprinkled throughout. Okay, so maybe we don't all know what it's like to lose our Great Aunt and have to strap her to the top of the car with the luggage in the rain, but we probably know what it feels like to expect a Christmas bonus but get...

Released just before Christmas 1996, the Wes Craven slasher Scream was a surprisingly big hit, and Dimension Films wanted to cash in on it right away. They rushed a sequel into production for a December 1997 release, with Craven back to direct and Scream writer Kevin Williamson working on the screenplay. But the Scream 2 (watch it Here) that reached the screen at the end of ’97 wasn’t the story Williamson had originally envisioned. When the initial script leaked online, Williamson had to do some extensive rewrites… and the Scream 2 we would have gotten from Williamson’s first script is the focus of the new episode of our Wtf Happened to This Unmade Horror Movie? video series. Check it out in the embed above!
The Scream 2 that was made has the following synopsis:
Sydney and tabloid reporter Gale Weathers survived the events of the first Scream, but their nightmare isn’t over.

Hallmark's Countdown to Christmas begins this weekend, and Kristoffer Polaha answered the call.
He'll be starring in We Wish You a Married Christmas with Marisol Nichols, and we caught up with him to chat about it.
Since he's more than a one-trick pony, we also talked about his latest book release, and stick around until the end to see how you might be able to see him if you happen to be in the Nevada area this weekend.
We Wish You a Married Christmas follows a couple on the brink of divorce. It's not very jolly from an outside perspective, but their marriage counselor has a surprise for them.
When Becca and Robby arrive at a cozy inn in Vermont to spend the holidays, Christmas magic intervenes, showing the couple they might not be as far gone as they thought.

As we all mourn the end of the Halloween season and brace ourselves for the seemingly unending parade of holidays based on familial obligations or gross displays of capitalism, November is here to serve as a little respite. Many of the horror movies that disappeared off streaming platforms to try and snag some extra Halloween funds in October are returning to their respective platforms, but the trickling in of cheesy Christmas fare is also coming in fast.
Fortunately, there's a massive amount of old favorites and exciting new titles trying to beat the holiday havoc, and we've got five between Hulu and Disney+ that you would be wise to check out. Action? Teen movies? Horror comedies? Musicals? Weirdly bleak arthouse film with surprising brutality? November has it all, baby.

It’s unlikely that anyone was holding their breath for an English-language reimagining of Francis Veber’s 2006 French hit “La Doublure,” a lovable if trite farce in which a porter and a supermodel fake a romantic relationship in order to prevent a PR disaster. But with the help of some doting cultural specificity, a charming cast and sunshiny Los Angeles skies, “Come As You Are” director Richard Wong’s “The Valet” proves that a remake can still be a welcome thing these days, even in a world oversaturated with them.
Written by Bob Fisher and Rob Greenberg (the duo behind the “Overboard” remake), this sweet-natured and good-humored rom-com-with-a-twist should easily find reasonable streaming success upon its May 20 launch on Hulu. This version of the story brings its distinctly “Notting Hill” beats to Tinseltown, where the modest and socially awkward Antonio works as a valet, parking the fancy cars of a...

Arguably, Mexican film and television superstar Eugenio Derbez has already conquered the American market. His 2013 film “Instructions Not Included” is the highest grossing Spanish-language film in the U.S. and grossed 100 million worldwide. He earned a SAG Award as part of the “Coda” ensemble cast, which went on to win the Best Picture Oscar, and he co-starred in the hit action-adventure “Dora and the Lost City of Gold.”
However, the attempts to launch him as a romantic leading man — in 2017’s “How to Be a Latin Lover” and 2018’s “Overboard,” a remake of the 1987 comedy — haven’t exactly lit the world on fire, even if they have been profitable.
But if at first you don’t succeed, try, try again, and Derbez is back, with “Overboard” writers Bob Fisher and Rob Greenberg, starring in and producing Hulu’s “The Valet,” directed by Richard Wong. It’s a remake of the...

"Elegant just like his mother!" Hulu has revealed an official trailer for a comedy film titled The Valet, a US remake of a French comedy of the same name (The Valet from 2006). Produced by Ben Odell and Eugenio Derbez (of 3Pas Studios), this one takes the story to Los Angeles where a famous actress ends up dating a parking valet.
