Jay Nelson is an award-winning editor and director known for his creative contribution to national and international commercials, films and videos. Originally from Ohio, Nelson moved to Los Angeles and began his career as a writer and director for the C.A.G. theater company, which soon blossomed into creative work on music videos, television and film. Jay is the Executive Producer, Writer and Editor for the documentary "Wild In The Streets," editor of the doc "Holy Wars," and narrative feature "Broken." In January of 2015 he completed editing the film "The Bronze" which opened the Sundance film festival. In the advertising realm he is known for editing brand-enhancing commercials including Super Bowl spots that have made the USA Today top 5 five years in a row. Nelson works around the world in film and TV, while also devoting his resources to causes such as Partnership for Drug Free America and Heal the Bay. A founding editor at Cut + Run editorial in LA, he divides his time between offices in New York, Los Angeles, and Austin.
