The Last of Us showrunner Craig Mazin has shared one of his favorite scenes from the upcoming second season, while praising lead stars Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey’s performances. The next installment will be based on Naughty Dog’s best-selling video game sequel The Last of Us Part II, which features a grown-up Ellie.
Speaking at a recent press conference via GamesRadar+, Mazin expressed his excitement for fans to see how they brought to life one of the most iconic scenes from the video game. The scene in particular involves Joel surprising Ellie on her 16th birthday with a trip to the Wyoming Museum. "I mean, this is not a spoiler. In the trailer, you see Pedro and Bella both by the space capsule in the museum, and that scene is the first thing that [co-showrunner Neil Druckmann] ever showed me from Part 2," he revealed. We're a little over two weeks away from the long-awaited premiere of HBO's The Last of Us Season 2, but before we get there, star Pedro Pascal is discussing some of the difficulties he had while shooting the new season. Set 20 years into a pandemic, Pascal stars as Joel Miller in the post-apocalyptic drama, a hardened middle-aged survivor who’s tasked with smuggling Bella Ramsey's Ellie across the United States. Based on the hit video games by Naughty Dog, Season 1 of The Last of Us was a huge success, with Season 2 hoping to continue that trend.
Pascal was joined by his co-stars during a press event in Los Angeles yesterday (via GamesRadar) to discuss The Last of Us, mentioning that he's eager for fans to finally bear witness to all the hard work he, and everyone else, put into the sophomore outing. "I think there's something really exciting about giving...

Fans are just a few weeks away from diving back into their favorite bloody, violent, and depressing post-apocalyptic, zombie-filled world (why do we like this show?), and Season 2 will introduce us to even more violent characters for Joel and Ellie to contend for survival with. Kaitlyn Dever is playing Abby in the new season, a fan-favorite protagonist/antagonist from the second video game, who will have a major effect on Joel and Ellie's relationship.

Kaitlyn Dever plays Abby in the upcoming second season of The Last of Us. Abby is crucial to one of the most controversial moment's in video game history. We're gonna talk about it, so take heed of this Major Spoiler Alert!
Okay, here it comes: in the opening act of Naughty Dog's video game The Last of Us Part II, the protagonist from the first game, Joel Miller, is brutally beaten to death by Abby in an act of vengeance after he killed her father in the original Last of Us game.
Abby is set to be one of the central characters in HBO's The Last of Us season 2. The sophomore season will cover most of the events of Naughty Dog's The Last of Us Part II, so there's absolutely no avoiding that scene. Once again, however, some viewers find themselves having trouble differentiating between fiction and reality. Star...

The Last of Us Part 2 was arguably one of the most gruesome and violent video games ever released. The violence alone became a major talking point for different groups, especially with the inclusion of the Seraphites, better known as Scars, a hostile faction that disembowels other people to ‘free them from sin.’ Some fans are eager to see this religious cult make their live-action debut in the second season, and it seems like the showrunners are making another creative change.
Ellie and Abby are the two playable characters from the source material, and both have their fair share of action sequences and encounters against the Scars. However, the recent trailer confirms that the show will reuse older set pieces, for different characters. Perhaps this is an attempt to give the live-action version of Ellie more fight scenes and show how this Abby isn’t as violent as her video game counterpart.

The Terminal List Season 2 is finally gaining traction, and Chris Pratt won't be a lone wolf the second time around. The hit Prime Video action drama, which is based on Jack Carr's best-selling book series of the same name, has added another TV actor who recently received acclaim for his role in HBO's Emmy-winning video game adaptation, The Last of Us.
Gabriel Luna, who plays Tommy in The Last of Us, has joined Pratt in Season 2 of The Terminal List. He will have a recurring role as Freddy Strain, the Seal Team 6 Senior Chief and current officer with CIA’s Ground Branch. Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is officially coming in the next few months and hardcore fans are eager to get their hands on the highly anticipated title. The original game was released a few years back, and game director Hideo Kojima knew how to get the gaming community’s attention with some fancy packaging for the collector’s edition. These may cost more than standard editions, but purchasing these versions reflects how much a fan supports the developers and the game.
Unfortunately, times have changed and physical media is slowly dying out. While this may not affect players who have accepted the future of digital content, some are struggling to keep up and prefer to spend their money on something more tangible. It seems like Kojima Productions is following the same mistake made by fellow industry leaders in this regard.

The Last of Us Season 2 is only a few weeks away, and HBO dropped the official trailer during the show’s SXSW panel. The gaming community is eager to see how this adaptation of the controversial sequel will deviate from the source material. One of the best parts of the first season was how showrunner Craig Mazin expanded the lore with certain characters that players barely spent time with, or never met. The live-action adaptation grants them the time to focus on particular characters.
The trailer showed new scenes that were never included in the game, such as the Jackson community being attacked by a horde of Infected, and the inclusion of characters only mentioned by name or shown in snippets. Eugene Linden was a resident of the Jackson community, and he will appear in the show through Joe Pantoliano, and some fans have a theory of how his character...

As a former star of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., actor Gabriel Luna is known in part for his role as the Robbie Reyes incarnation of Ghost Rider. Though the series ended in 2017, Luna is keeping the door open for a potential return, given how the expansion of the McU's multiverse makes it more possible than ever before.
At the South by Southwest (SXSW) Film Festival, Luna and The Astronuat co-star Kate Mara spoke with Grae Drake of Cbr to promote the premiere of their new film. Their past superhero roles were discussed, given how Mara also played Sue Storm in 2015's Fantastic Four movie. Luna noted how he "enjoyed" the time he spent playing Ghost Rider, but when it came to possibly revisiting the role, he always fell back on a "stock answer" about just appreciating the work he did in the past. With that said, he's making it clear he's open to revisiting Robbie Reyes.

The Last of Us Part 3 could still be a few years off, and there is no telling where the writers will take those who survived the traumatic experience of the controversial sequel. Characters come and go, and this is something director Neil Druckmann has no issue with doing. It is evident that he has the guts to make the hard decision of killing certain characters with no clear paths or potential storylines; however, his methods are more brutal than fans expect.
With that being said, let’s take a look at every major character featured in The Last of Us and assess if they could make it into the upcoming sequel.

With just a few weeks to go until the launch of The Last of Us Season 2, HBO has given us a few looks at some old faces and some new faces too. Ahead of what's set to be a stormy second outing for Joel and Ellie, it's time to take a look at what's to come. We can't go into the plot of Season 2, because spoilers, but HBO have shown off new looks at Pedro Pascalas Joel Miller, Bella Ramsey as Ellie Williams, alongside the returning Gabriel Luna as Joel's brother, Tommy, and Rutina Wesley as his wife, Maria. Kaitlyn Dever joins the cast as Abby, a soldier seeking vengeance whose actions have lasting consequences, Isabela Merced plays Dina, Ellie's girlfriend, and Young Mazino takes on the role of Jesse, a friend of Ellie and Dina's.

Per Variety, Pantoliano will be making his The Last of Us debut as Eugene. In the video game, Eugene is only ever mentioned when Ellie and Dina happen across his abandoned stash house and weed den. The Last of Us season 1 was one of the standout shows of the last few years. And we're just a few months away from season 2 hitting our screens. Prepare for even more action and heartbreak. But don't just take it from me; newcomer Danny Ramirez — who plays a soldier named Manny Alvarez — has already seen footage he thinks will "f*ck people up.”
Season 1 of The Last of Us was pretty much a direct adaptation of Naughty Dog's first The Last of Us game. Starring Pedro Pascal as protagonist Joel Miller and Bella Ramsey as the young Ellie, the season perfectly captured the emotional beats of the zombie adventure game while building on the original source material with additional stories, like an episode exploring Bill and Frank's journey in more detail.

Smashing two different universes and their characters together isn’t anything new, especially when the two in question are so similar like The Last of Us and The Walking Dead. The similarities between the two has been a discussion for many years since, but now a new question has been asked; ‘what if Rick Grimes ended up in The Last of Us?’
The Last of Us x The Walking Dead
On the face of it, the two universes are pretty similar. Post-apocalyptic, urban wastelands filled with the undead after a plague decimates the world and its inhabitants, with some surviving factions vying for the remaining resources. Of course, the finer points of both push them further away, but the broader strokes are similar enough to warrant comparisons, and in this case, swapping characters between the two.

The Last of Us Part II was so unforgiving that it divided the fan base in the aftermath. Neil Druckmann says the TV adaptation will feature a violent scene scrapped from the original game's final cut.
Showrunner Neil Druckmann says The Last of Us fans will be shocked by the continuing TV adaptation. Those who've played the games might be desensitized to the violence, but the show will feature one scene fans will appreciate. It's a good day to be a Pedro Pascal fan. A release window has been revealed for the actor's upcoming A24 movie Eddington.
According to Variety, A24 is bringing Ari Aster's hotly-anticipated Beau Is Afraid follow-up, Eddington, to the European Film Market in Berlin later this month. It's also being reported that A24 is targeting a summer release for the original thriller movie that boasts a cast that includes Pascal, Joaquin Phoenix, Emma Stone, and Austin Butler. Eddington might also be in contention for a Cannes debut, which would make it Aster's first film as director to bow at the festival, which will be held from May 13-24 this year. This suggests that the movie will not debut in theaters until late May at the earliest.

The Last of Us Part 3 is likely years away, which buys creative fans enough time to make something worthwhile to make the wait a little easier, such as fan art and figurines. While Sony Interactive Entertainment has collaborated with Lego in the past, we’ve yet to see anything of the more adult and R-rated franchises in the popular building pastime. Fans have remedied that.

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent cast and character guide. Directed by Tom Gormican from a screenplay by him and Kevin Etten, the film breaks the fourth wall by having Nicolas Cage portraying a fictional version of himself — Nick Cage, an actor who can no longer land a major studio role and is in a lot of debt despite having starred in blockbusters like National Treasure. The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent is a rare movie wherein an actor playing a version of themselves works on many levels.
The plot combines various genres and leans quite a bit into the buddy comedy aspect. It’s unclear where Gormican and Etten may have gotten the idea for the movie, but Cage certainly has no issue spoofing parts of his career and making meta jokes about the films he’s made and the movie industry at large. Marvel Rivals released just last month and took the gaming community by storm. Reed Richards, known more commonly as Mr Fantastic, is one of the characters you can play.
Gamers noticed a peculiar skill of Mr Fantastic that hasn’t been showcased often other than in the comics, causing people to compare him to Luffy. The move looks awfully like Gear 4: Bounce Man in One Piece, first shown in the Dressrosa Arc. Now fans are wondering who would win in a fight.

The most recent portrayal of Mr Fantastic on the big screen was in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, played by John Krasinski. The actor has always been a fan-favorite choice for the superhero, but the MCU film utilized him poorly.

Well, if you have been keeping tabs on all the recent rumors and were thinking that Troy Baker’s involvement in Naughty Dog’s new project could only mean The Last of Us Part 3, you might want to take a seat. According to the latest reports, it’s true that Baker will be working with the studio again, but not in the way many fans were hoping.
Fans are excited to see what Baker will take part in. | Image Credit: Naughty Dog
However, instead of playing Joel Miller in The Last of Us 3, Baker’s next role seems to be attached to a whole new project directed by Neil Druckmann. While fans might have been hoping for the return of their favorite survivor, this news could be a bit of a gut punch for those who still hope to see Joel in another chapter in The Last of Us saga.

The return of Pedro Pascal in the titular role of Din Djarin in The Mandalorian and Grogu has been confirmed, easing viewers' long-running worries about the beloved actor. Pascal, who has been portraying Din Djarin ever since Star Wars' The Mandalorian first began, has become a notoriously busy actor following his skyrocket to fame in the aftermath of The Mandalorian and HBO's The Last of Us, in which he plays Joel Miller. Given his current busy schedule filming The Fantastic Four: First Steps in the role of Reed Richards, some feared he wouldn't return to his Star Wars role.
This, however, will not be the case, as Lucasfilm has confirmed at D23 Brasil that Pedro Pascal will indeed return to play Din Djarin once again in The Mandalorian and Grogu. This was announced alongside the official casting of Sigourney Weaver, who is portraying a currently unknown role in Star Wars' next movie.

The following contains spoilers for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 2, Episode 6, "Au Revoir Les Enfants," which premiered Sunday, Nov. 3 on AMC. This article contains mention of suicide.
It's been a long road for Daryl and Carol on The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. There have been cramped plane rides, outrageous environmentalists, exploding walkers and French cults. The absurd road leads to a resolution for some characters, and right back to square one for others. But there are still a few obstacles to jump over first. Ash's plane can't magically become big enough to pick up four people off the ground, so someone has to make a sacrifice. Daryl is willing to be the unlucky guy, and guarantees a sulking Laurent that he'll make it back to America soon to join the rest of them. He's been all alone before, he can survive a few more weeks or so all by himself in France.

There are three certainties in life: death, taxes, and Pedro Pascal landing roles in huge Hollywood franchises. The 49-year-old actor rose to prominence thanks to his portrayal of Oberyn Martell on Game of Thrones. Since then, he's jumped between several Hollywood franchises, most notably playing the title character in the first-ever live-action Star Wars TV show, The Mandalorian.
The massive roles just keep on coming. He'll return as Joel Miller in the second season of HBO's The Last of Us next year. Todd Howard always wanted to create an Indiana Jones game. In 2009, the prolific director of titles like Fallout 3 came close, pitching an Indiana Jones game to LucasArts, the video game subsidiary arm of Lucasfilm. However, the collaboration didn’t end up happening. At the time, Howard and the developers at Bethesda Game Studios were riding high on the critical and commercial successes of 2002’s The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and 2006’s The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, but even so, Indy remained out of reach for the team.

The Last of Us is arguably one of the most successful first-party franchises operating under the PlayStation Studios umbrella. The gaming community was seemingly blown away by what the game developers made years ago, delivering a video game that rivals the storytelling qualities of a huge blockbuster, while keeping things relatable and grounded.

HBO's The Last of Us introduced us to a completely distinct kind of zombie story, explaining the root cause of the outbreak at the very beginning. Starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, the series takes place twenty years after a fungus infection turns the majority of the world's population into zombies. Joel Miller, who helps out the resistance, the Fireflies, in exchange for certain favors, comes across a teenage girl named Ellie, whom he must accompany beyond the city. However, she just might be holding the key to ending the pandemic once and for all.
Whether you're a dedicated fan of the original games or a newcomer to the HBO series, the origin of the infection can feel elusive since the details mostly unfold in the background. While the show slowly unravels the mystery with each episode, some parts of the Cordyceps Infection remain difficult to understand. So, how exactly...

Ahead of the new year, 2025 is looking to be Pedro Pascal's best year in Hollywood. In 2023, the actor debuted his leading role as Joel Miller in HBO's video game adaptation The Last Of Us. where he plays a grieving father in the process of saving Ellie possibly the cure to the cordyceps fungal infection that has ravaged the world with infected zombie-like creatures. The role earned Pascal a number of major award nods, and the actor won a Screen Actor's Guild Award for Outstanding Performance By A Male Actor in a Drama series.

Creative Director Neil Druckmann has worked on many original Naughty Dog games for the PlayStation brand and is now taking a massive leap from making video games to adapting them to live-action. The first season of the HBO version of The Last of Us was a tremendous success thanks to the combined efforts of Druckmann for providing on-set knowledge of the lore and showrunner Craig Mazin as they embarked on a new journey to give the story of Part 2 the same treatment through this format.

Video game adaptations have been notoriously disappointing because they usually have no respect for the source material.
