There's another Wizard of Oz prequel film in development that is coming from RAMstar Studios. The movie will be based on the 1991 book, How the Wizard Came To Oz, written by Donald Abbot.
The story is very similar to the 2013 Sam Raimi-directed film Oz the Great and Powerful, as it explores how circus stuntman Oscar Diggs was whisked away to the land of Oz and how he became the "wizard" encountered by Dorothy in the famous story.
I'm not sure why they would want to make a film that has basically been made already, but the most exciting aspect of it is that it could possibly star Nathan Fillion as the Wizard. There's no confirmation of his casting, but they are reportedly trying to get him on board.
The author of the book is writing the script and the film will be directed by Cole S. McKay, who has...

Hey, Paul Anderson! Just so you know, I'm a lot more likely to watch The Asylum's 3 Musketeers than I am yours. Sure, it'll be horrible but it'll also be fun. Yours will only be one of those things.Alexandra D'Artagnan, junior Nsa officer, uncovers a plot to assasinate the President of the United States and enlists the help of three infamous international spies to stop the threat. So, yeah, it's got nothing to do with much of anything, including the correct spelling of 'assassinate'. Veteran stunt coordinator - 224 credits! - and Asylum veteran Cole McKay directs with Heather Hemmens, Xin, Alan Rachins, Keith Allan, Michelle Boyd, and David Chokachi starring....

I kind of figured that mockbuster wizards The Asylum would have a low-budget, direct-to-video response to “Fast Five”, but for some reason, I never really thought to properly and thoroughly investigate my suspicions. Below you’ll find a trailer for “200 Mph”, which quietly landed on DVD and VOD on April 26th, 2011. Directed by Cole McKay and starring David Michael Latt, David Rimawi, and Paul Bales, the film follows a young racer as he is “plunged into the harrowing world of illegal street racing, risking his life as he races with a vengeance”. Sounds like a paint-by-numbers winner to me. The kicker: the screenwriter’s name is Thunder Levin. How could you possibly go wrong? Curious parties are encouraged to check out the trailer embedded below.

Cinema is filled with multi-talented young actors who bring to life all types of characters. Sometimes, a role is given to the wrong guy - just because he has the looks (pin-up pretty, looks awesome wearing trunks) and the connection (a powerful talent agent at his side). But when the role is given to the right guy - moviegoers get to witness something unique, memorable and powerful, even magical. Anyway, even the 'right guy' needs an agent, of course...

- - - Underrated versus Overrated: If you've watched Jumper, then you'll notice the difference between Jamie Bell and Hayden Christensen - Bell has undeniable screen presence, I can't say the same with Hayden. It could have been different if Tom Sturridge was retained to play Hayden's part. Anyway, who am I to argue? Christensen has more box office appeal than the relatively unknown Sturridge, but acting-wise?
So,...

The Middleground. The top 30 is the middleground, where you get to find out who are making headways and who are not. We maintain a rather skeptical view of some of the actors' performances (i.e. we're not yet impressed totally!). That's probably the reason why you might notice the low ranking for some of the more popular names, which you thought should have been way up there. Moving down the rankings were Ben Foster, Kevin Zegers, Michael Angarano, Chris Evans and Eddie Redmayne. New on the list are Keiran Culkin and Nicolas Cazale and completing the top 30 are Ben Barnes, Lou Taylor Pucci and Sam Riley. International Appeal. I should have mentioned that during the first time we launched our top 50 list last April, many took note of its 'international flavor' and that we feature French, German and even Italian actors. The trend continues as we get to discover more young talents.
