Britney Spears is confirming what everyone already suspected. She is quitting "The X Factor."

Spears says in a statement, "I've made the very difficult decision not to return for another season. I had an incredible time doing the show and I love the other judges and I am so proud of my teens but it's time for me to get back in the studio."

While it's been reported Simon Cowell was ready to give Brit the boot, she tells a different story.

"Watching [the contestants] all do their thing up on that stage every week made me miss performing so much," says Spears. "I can't wait to get back out there and do what I love most."

For 43 years Willie Clark and Al Lewis were a headline double-act but, after a decade in non-speaking retirement, they are to be reunited for a CBS comedy special. There's a baby on the way for "The Big Big Bang Theory" star Simon Helberg!

The actor -- who plays turtleneck-loving Howard Wolowitz on the CBS show -- and wife Jocelyn Towne are expecting their first child, a rep for the couple told People.

The baby is due this spring.

"Reason to Believe" was easily one of the best Combat Hospital's of the season. From its tense Hurt Locker-like opening - with the horror of a bomb disposal gone wrong - to its emotional questions of faith, this hour hooked me from moment one and never let go.

We found Chaplain Marjorie Plotell having a crisis of faith. Apparently war is Hell, even on God. Somehow, as she watched Simon profess his arrogance in his skills as a surgeon, it only made her feel more inadequate. 

Simon was in rare form tonight. He labeled Dobbs' pieces of broken vertebrae "annoying" and was sure he could save the use of the man's arms. Thankfully, Simon's skill and talent were able to keep up with his ego since it was a surgery he'd never before performed.

Washington, August 04: Simon Cowell is reportedly planning to revamp the UK 'X Factor' from next season and make it 'tougher'.

According to the London Star, Cowell even brought files of material with him while he vacations on his yacht in the French Riviera, and has been looking into the prospect of making it even more 'gruelling' for the contestants of 2012.

Reports said that he is mulling over assigning the contestants to 'gruelling workshops, dance classes, songwriting sessions, masterclasses with special guests and lightning auditions.'

Simon Cowell is planning to shake things up – again!

The music mogul is said to be desperate to make things different for this series of The X Factor, in a bid to re-engage viewers and hopefully help them forget that most of their favourite judges are gone.

His plans start with the upcoming bootcamp stage, which will be filmed later this month.

Simon has extended the run of the round, meaning it will last a whopping five days, the longest yet and he is said to have told judges and production team members that he wants it to be the ‘toughest’ bootcamp to date.

More than two hundred hopefuls will make it to this stage, with only 32 making it through to judges houses. To succeed it will no longer be enough to nicely croon an emotional number for the panel, this year The Daily Star reports that singers will be required to take ‘gruelling workshops,...

The X Factor returned to New Jersey on Wednesday for the first of two days of judges round auditions. EW joined an audience of roughly 5,000 for the day’s second taping at Newark’s Prudential Center, which featured 22 contestants. Fox told journalists to refrain from IDing performers and revealing their song choices, backstories, and comments to the judges, as well as quoting the judges’ critiques, so we’ll have to speak generally. Nicole Scherzinger has joked that Simon Cowell doesn’t give her enough credit for putting X Factor boyband One Direction together.

The former Pussycat Doll was standing in for Dannii Minogue on last year’s series of the ITV show, when she, Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh decided to ask solo entrants Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, Zain Malik and Niall Horan to join forces and form a group.

They have went on to become one of the most popular acts from the series and speaking to The Sun, Nicole admitted that she would like some credit for that.

‘Simon has me to thank for putting One Direction together.’

‘But I don’t get any credit.

‘I won’t be getting a cut of the money they make him.’

Simon Cowell has confirmed that he will have four judges on his new American X Factor series.

The music mogul was being interviewed by Fox’s Jane Yamamoto – for the TV network that will air his newest reality TV offering – and put an end to speculation that he will bring the show back to a three judge format.

When the interviewer asked if the format would consist of him and two other judges, he replied:

No Jane It’s not. It starts with me and three other judges darling!

But all may not be as it seems. Simon may reduce the panel at a later stage, possibly when he leaves to appear on the UK series and when asked to clarify that there will be three stars joining him he laughed:

Louis Walsh stood in for David Hasselhoff at yesterday’s Britain’s Got Talent auditions.

Hasselhoff and comedian Michael McIntryre were recently announced as new members of the judging panel, who will sit alongside Amanda Holden and be joined by Simon Cowell when the live shows start.

However the former Baywatch star can’t start attending auditions until he is finished his panto stint on January 16, so yesterday the Irish X Factor judge took his place on the panel.

Writing on Twitter about the auditions, Holden (who recently announced that she is six months pregnant) said: “Five minutes until we’re on stage! Michael is pacing, I’m eating and Louis is checking his quiff!”

She added: “It’s going well! Michael is doing a grand job and Louis is ace of course! Piers who?!”

Insiders had claimed that the music mogul had already started work on the boyband’s debut album, with a source telling The Sun:

However Louis Tomlinson, 18, hit out at the claims, telling X Magazine:

Simon Cowell's mother thinks he got engaged too quickly. The music mogul's mother Julie Cowell has revealed her son and his fiancee Mezhgan Hussainy, who he got engaged to in March, are currently having a "break" from each other with the make-up artist going to the U.S. to visit her family while Simon films the U.K. version of his pop star search show "The X Factor".

The 85 year old believes Simon may have rushed into things too soon with Mezhgan. She told the Mail on Sunday newspaper, "I think [the engagement] was too quick. X Factor bosses are reportedly set against Simon Cowell bringing Cheryl Cole to his American version of the show.

Insiders suggest that Fox executives would rather have Mariah Carey than the Geordie singer on the new TV venture, saying that audiences would never understand Cheryl’s thick accent.

Let's get it right out there: Let Me In is a devil that deserves more than sympathy.

Written and Directed by Matthew Reeves, Let Me In is a happy example of cinematic Darwinism; it is its own creature, mutated from a film that was a rare breed itself. The spawn of the Scandinavian vampire flick that famously froze art house audiences to the bone, Let The Right One In, Let Me In achieves what so many other Americanized remakes fail: it is its own movie. From the opening shot of bone-white snowfields that cascade into an eerie early-80s period piece, it establishes its character. It tells its own story while still tingling with the themes that made the Swedish version so potent.

Storm Lee made his X Factor debut tonight.

The singer is originally from Edinburgh, Scotland but moved to America when he was just 17 in the hopes of breaking into the music business. He has enjoyed some degree of success but this year, returned to the UK to try out for the ITV talent show.

For his X Factor audition, Lee sang ‘Every Breath You Take’ by Police but when he finished, Simon said that the performance didn’t work and Storm was allowed to sing his second song ‘Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For’ by U2.

Judges Comments:

Simon told him:

“I’m not going to call you Storm anymore, because I think it’s a stupid name.”

Cheryl Cole admonished him saying:

“Simon! I’m going to call him Storm. I think that’s very very rude.”

Storm laughed:

“I think it is. Thank you Cheryl.

Simon Cowell is said to be furious with X Factor producers for the recent autotune scandal.

Fans have complained in their thousands after the voice altering technology was used during Saturday night’s launch show, to adjust the vocals of hopefuls such as Gamu Nhengu and the better half of G&S.

On our review of Gamu’s performance, Unreality TV readers blasted the show saying:

I wonder what she would sound like without the Autotune? Clearly the mics have been rigged with Autotune this year, which is really sad.

Another added:

The problem is you can hear it… It sounds very unnatural when used so blatantly. They should he ashamed. This is supposed to be a singing competition.

And another viewer pointed out:

Under the autotune it sounded like she could sing ok. So why are they using autotune during auditions. Bit silly really.

Peggy Mitchell's final EastEnders episode will feature a new alternative version of the soap's theme tune, Digital Spy can confirm. The special track is a reworking of the BBC show's long-standing alternative tune 'Julia's Theme', which traditionally airs at the end of episodes featuring intense emotion or drama. Britain’s Got Talent judge Simon Cowell has claimed that he is Not planning his wedding with fiancee Mezhgan Hussainy and insisted that no one else is either.

Sources have suggested that Simon is planning up to four wedding ceremonies in Barbados, La, England to name a few and pals like Sinitta have claimed they are helping to organise the event. However Simon told The Daily Telegraph:

“In spite of various people claiming to be making arrangements for our wedding, no such plans exist. When Mezhgan and myself decide the time is right, we will make our own plans,” he said.

“I just want to clarify the situation because I keep reading about different people planning our wedding.”

The music mogul barely has a free week in his schedule between his UK and Stateside reality TV projects and is said to be planning to spend any time he does have, on finding a new judging panel for his new American X Factor series.

Simon, 50, is thought to have proposed to 36 year old Mezghan Hussainy on Valentines day of this year and many sources had suggested that he was planning a summer ceremony (or four!), however his old pal Nigel Lythgoe has rubbished these rumours and told The News Of The World:

David Simon has become famous for creating the type of television that make viewers want to breath inside his detail-heavy landscapes — even if those settings (like his gritty but all-to-real Baltimore streets in "Homicide: Life on the Street" and "The Wire") tend to get bloody and gruesome pretty frequently.

Simon's new show "Treme" (named after the New Orleans neighborhood where most of the action takes place) debuted on HBO with an 80-minute premiere on Sunday night (April 11), and its dedication to those inviting hues is no different.
