Anne Rice's Immortal Universe is showing no signs of slowing down, with new seasons of both Mayfair Witches and Interview with the Vampire on the way. Tongayi Chirisa, who stars in the former as Talamasca agent Ciprien Grieve, recently teased that a crossover between the two series could be in the works.
Speaking with Screen Rant ahead of Mayfair Witches' Season 2 premiere on Jan. 5, Chirisa noted how it would not be unusual for his character to encounter other supernatural beings due to his work with the secret society, Talamasca. "I think for Cip, it's not uncommon to encounter the supernatural," he explained. "I think with what's happening in Season 2, Cip was a certain level of Talamasca agent until certain things start to happen that will finally give him access to some of the deeper secrets of the Talamasca."

This season's tagline is "Welcome to the Queendom," and that seems apropos.
After two seasons of being a discontented and betrayed underling, Desna was ready to take charge on Claws Season 3 Episode 1.
Desna has long accepted that she will ofttimes have to do the wrong thing to produce the right results: a better life for herself, her brother Dean and her girls.
There have been a couple of long-running problems with this strategy, however.
One is that she's made a series of what Dean described as "bad decisions."
An example would be pinning Roller's "murder" on her odious former foster parents, which led to Bryce murdering them, temporarily shattering her longtime friendship with Jenn.
The other is that she's been used as an unwitting pawn in others' schemes.
So the question is whether she has learned from her mistakes or if she is instead leading her loved ones down another dangerous path.

Creskoff will recur as Melba Locklear, a Sarasota native who was a child model for catalogs and print campaigns throughout the southeast. Although it didn't manage to avoid being killed by ABC, Red Widow is a great crime drama featuring a solid cast and a slow-twisting story - even if it only last eight episodes and ends without tying up all the loose ends. Marta Walraven (Radha Mitchell) won't have to worry about working for the mob for a second season. Red Widow has been cancelled by ABC after one season and eight episodes.
Red Widow follows a San Francisco housewife and mother who finds herself forced to continue her late husband's work in organized crime for the sake of her family. The series' cast includes Radha Mitchell, Clifton Collins Jr., Luke Goss, Sterling Beaumon, Suleka Mathew, Erin Moriarty, Jaime Ray Newman, Jakob Salvati, Lee Tergesen, Wil Traval, Rade Serbedzija, and Goran Visnjic.

Tonight marks the season finale of Red Widow since ABC ordered just eight episodes of the series. Is this the end? Will the drama be back for a second season or will it be cancelled instead?
For those unfamiliar with the show, Red Widow revolves around a San Francisco housewife and mother who finds herself forced to continue her husband's work in organized crime after his death. The large cast includes Radha Mitchell, Clifton Collins Jr., Luke Goss, Sterling Beaumon, Suleka Mathew, Erin Moriarty, Jaime Ray Newman, Jakob Salvati, Lee Tergesen, Wil Traval, Rade Serbedzija, and Goran Visnjic.
Unfortunately, it doesn't look like we'll be seeing a second season renewal for Red Widow. The show's ratings were poor at the start -- debuting to a 1.5 demo rating with 7.13 million viewers -- and have gotten a lot worse as the weeks have worn on.

From Melissa Rosenberg (screenwriter of the Twilight Saga films), the ABC drama series Red Widow illustrates just what lengths a single mother will go to, to protect her children when she feels as though their lives are threatened. When Marta Walraven’s (Radha Mitchell) husband Evan (Anson Mount) was brutally murdered in their driveway, it changed her idyllic life, in an instant. As a result, she now finds herself navigating the criminal underworld, in order to repay his debt to the formidable international crime boss, Nicholae Schiller (Goran Visnjic), and keep herself and her family alive. The show also stars Rade Serbedzija, Luke Goss, Lee Tergesen, Wil Traval, Jaime Ray Newman, Clifton Collins Jr., Suleka Mathew, Sterling Beaumon, Erin Moriarty and Jakob Salvati. During this recent exclusive phone interview with Collider, executive producer/writer Melissa Rosenberg talked about what immediately stood out for her when she watched the original Dutch...

ABC's Zero Hour has already been cancelled due to terrible ratings. Will the network have better luck with Red Widow, their newest drama? Is it even worth watching?
Red Widow revolves around a suburban housewife and mom whose husband is killed after he steals from the Russian mob. The mobsters don't consider the debt paid however and the widow must now do their bidding -- while she tries to protect her children and dodge the FBI.
The show's cast includes Radha Mitchell, Clifton Collins Jr., Luke Goss, Sterling Beaumon, Suleka Mathew, Erin Moriarty, Jaime Ray Newman, Jakob Salvati, Lee Tergesen, Wil Traval, Rade Serbedzija, and Goran Visnjic.

The Gospel of Matthew quotes Jesus as saying, in part, "All those who take up the sword shall perish by the sword."
But sometimes it's not so much a matter of taking up the sword as being taken up by it, in the form of circumstances beyond your control.
On Sunday, March 3, ABC premieres "Red Widow," executive produced and written by Melissa Rosenberg ("Dexter," the "Twilight" films) and adapted from the Dutch series "Penoza."
Radha Mitchell stars as Marta Walraven, a stay-at-home mom in Marin County, just north of San Francisco. She loves her three children, her husband, Evan (Anson Mount, "Hell on Wheels"), and the life he has built for them. But there's a rub -- this domestic bliss comes from what Marta believes is Evan's illegal trade in marijuana.
It's not a completely unfamiliar situation for Marta, since she is the daughter of Russian gangster Andrei Petrov (Rade Serbedzija). She and her sister,...

Chicago – While the broadcast networks midseason continues to set records for overall incompetence and ABC’s “Zero Hour” appears to be the latest casualty (as it was pulled from this week schedule in advance of a likely cancellation), the newest attempt to revive flatlining numbers comes in the form of ABC’s “Red Widow.” This new thriller has a great cast and strong production values but no reason to expect that it will turn this season around.

Marta Walraven (an effective Radha Mitchell) has a nice house, three kids, and a happy life that is shattered when her husband Evan is murdered in their driveway. It turns out that Evan made his fortune in somewhat unscrupulous ways that had just gotten significantly more deadly with the theft of a shipment of drugs from notorious crime lord Christian Schiller (Goran Visjnic). Brace yourselves. This list of the Top 100 Greatest Gay Movies is probably going to generate some howls of protest thanks to a rather major upset in the rankings. Frankly, one that surprised the hell out of us here at AfterElton.
But before we get to that, an introduction. A few weeks ago we asked AfterElton readers to submit up to ten of their favorite films by write-in vote. We conducted a similar poll several years ago, but a lot has happened culturally since then, and a number of worthy movies of gay interest have been released. We also wanted to expand our list to 100 from the top 50 we had done previously. We figured there were finally enough quality gay films to justify the expansion. And we wanted to break out gay documentaries onto their own list (You'll find the...

ABC‘s slate of new shows for fall has a strange flavor to it, and it’s going to be a bumpy ride. The network has about as many new shows as returning ones (if you count all the midseasons), and a good percentage of the returning offerings are a year old or less, making this look a bit like a rebuilding year.
Not only is it a rebuilding year, but it’s the year of bringing back every actor and actress who ever had a decent run on a show before. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a network’s new season slate that was so crammed with people returning from something else. If you can’t make it good, I suppose, make sure viewers recognize the faces.
It’s tricky to get a solid feel...

Exclusive: Actor-comedian-singer Charles Esten (Enlightened) is set to co-star in ABC’s drama pilot Nashville. Written by Callie Khouri, directed by R.J. Cutler and produced by Lionsgate and ABC Studios, Nashville is described as a family soap about love, country music, family, politics and sex, all set against the backdrop of the Nashville music scene. It centers on 40-year-old Nashville fading superstar Rayna James (Connie Britton) whose label requires her to team up with teen sensation Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere) on tour–or else face the loss of her own tour and the label’s promotion of her latest record, whose sales have been underwhelming. Esten, repped by Stone Manners Salners, will play Deacon, songwriter, lead guitar player, and Rayna’s former lover. Suleka Mathew (Hawthorne) and Jaime Ray Newman have been added to the cast of ABC’s drama pilot Penoza, written and executive produced by Twilight scribe Melissa Rosenberg.

This is the first part of the weekend monster update, with more news & stuff coming in the next couple of days.
I got my Grimms confused in yesterday's post as it turns out. Tonight's episode won't be "Let Your Hair Down," but "The Three Bad Wolves." Rapunzel doesn't show up until next week.
Nick (David Giuntoli) is called to a suspected arson case, which exposes a longstanding family feud that brings Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) face-to-face with characters from his troubled past. While Monroe wrestles with restraining his wild side, it’s up to Nick to keep everything from going up in flames. Russell Hornsby, Bitsie Tulloch, Sasha Roiz and Reggie Lee also star. There are a few sneak peeks at THR and Dread Central. Spoiler TV has the promotional stills. Here is the teaser:
Yesterday's excellent "Danse Macabre," which did well in the ratings, is available on NBC.com.

Sasha Roiz on how his character will develop later in the series: "I’m not a Grimm descendent, but I'm a descendent of a long line that dates back just as Grimm does and we have a bit of a history and a past, so my line is a royal line and that will slowly unfold throughout the series."Collider has a longer interview with Sasha and Reggie Lee (more at the link):
It’s nice to see your character – like the main character – has the duality.

Television Rating: 3.5/5.0

Jada Pinkett Smith is the rock solid centerpiece as Christina Hawthorne, Chief Nursing Officer at an action-packed hospital. The series continues its focus on the relationships within the ensemble, including the romance between Christina and Dr. Tom Wakefield (Michael Vartan).
At the end of the second season, Christina finds out she is pregnant by Dr. Tom, and the third chapter opens with their nuptials. In the context of all medical dramas, there is an accident nearby that interrupts the vows, but the team is there to take care of the situation.
