Anne Rice's Mayfair Witches is back. Almost two years after its Season 1 finale aired, Mayfair Witches returns today on AMC and AMC+ with its Season 2 premiere.

Based on the novel trilogy Lives of the Mayfair Witches by Anne Rice, Mayfair Witches follows neurosurgeon Dr. Rowan Fielding, played by Alexandra Daddario, as she learns she is the heiress to a dynasty of powerful witches haunted by a sinister spirit. The supernatural horror series also stars Harry Hamlin as Cortland Mayfair, Tongayi Chirisa as Ciprien Grieve, and Jack Huston as Lasher. The eight-episode first season aired on AMC between Jan. 8 and Feb. 26, 2023. The second season, also consisting of eight episodes, premieres tonight on Jan. 5, and will run until Mar. 2, 2025.

Anne Rice's Immortal Universe is showing no signs of slowing down, with new seasons of both Mayfair Witches and Interview with the Vampire on the way. Tongayi Chirisa, who stars in the former as Talamasca agent Ciprien Grieve, recently teased that a crossover between the two series could be in the works.

Speaking with Screen Rant ahead of Mayfair Witches' Season 2 premiere on Jan. 5, Chirisa noted how it would not be unusual for his character to encounter other supernatural beings due to his work with the secret society, Talamasca. "I think for Cip, it's not uncommon to encounter the supernatural," he explained. "I think with what's happening in Season 2, Cip was a certain level of Talamasca agent until certain things start to happen that will finally give him access to some of the deeper secrets of the Talamasca."

Iconic actor Danny Trejo is set to receive one of the biggest honors of his career.

Pic’s protagonist is Jai (Ayyar), an ex-con on a soulful path wrestling with personal redemption when outside circumstances pit him in the ring against the fierce opponent, Marcus (Gray). This season's tagline is "Welcome to the Queendom," and that seems apropos.

After two seasons of being a discontented and betrayed underling, Desna was ready to take charge on Claws Season 3 Episode 1.

Desna has long accepted that she will ofttimes have to do the wrong thing to produce the right results: a better life for herself, her brother Dean and her girls.

There have been a couple of long-running problems with this strategy, however.

One is that she's made a series of what Dean described as "bad decisions."

An example would be pinning Roller's "murder" on her odious former foster parents, which led to Bryce murdering them, temporarily shattering her longtime friendship with Jenn.

The other is that she's been used as an unwitting pawn in others' schemes.

So the question is whether she has learned from her mistakes or if she is instead leading her loved ones down another dangerous path.

The cast and creators of ABC’s short-lived drama/comedy series, Men In Trees, reunited as part of Atx Television Festival’s canceled-too-soon presentation and as expected, the topic of a revival popped in.

Pollyanna McIntosh (The Walking Dead) has booked a recurring role on the second season of AMC’s Lodge 49, from creator Jim Gavin, showrunner Peter Ocko and executive producer Paul Giamatti. Lodge 49 is a lighthearted modern fable set in Long Beach, CA, starring Wyatt Russell as disarmingly optimistic local ex-surfer Sean “Dud” Dudley, who’s drifting after the death of his father and collapse of the family business. McIntosh will play Clara, a British emissary who meets and befriends Connie at Lodge 1 in England. McIntosh is best known for her role as Jadis on The Walking Dead. We’ll be seeing more of Toby on Claws. Evan Daigle, who has recurred since Season 1, has been promoted to series regular for the upcoming third season of TNT’s comedic drama series. In addition, Hung alumna Rebecca Creskoff and Michael Horse (Twin Peaks) have been tapped for recurring roles.

Daiglee’s Toby is Uncle Daddy’s (Dean Norris) right-hand man and favorite boy toy. He has appeared in 15 episodes through Season 2.

Creskoff will recur as Melba Locklear, a Sarasota native who was a child model for catalogs and print campaigns throughout the southeast. This transitioned into beauty pageants and, ultimately a meteorologist gig on the local news, until an on-air, obscenity-strewn meltdown cost Melba her career in journalism. A lengthy rehabilitation followed, during which she met Mac, who was battling a cocaine addiction. They married shortly thereafter. Today, Melba is the picture of a Sarasota mover and shaker.

The cable network has handed out a fourth season renewal to Animal Kingdom and a third season renewal to Claws.

Animal Kingdom follows the trials and tribulations of a family that relies on crime as a means to get by. Animal Kingdom Season 3 has already said goodbye to Scott Speedman.

While many fans have been up in arms over the shocking departure, it seems that more people are watching the show than ever before.

Animal Kingdom Season 3 Episode 1 secured 4.3 million total viewers. 2 million of those viewers were in the adults 18-49 crowd which is what advertisers crave nowadays.

The hit drama also stars Ellen Barkin, Shawn Hatosy, Ben Robson, Jake Weary and Finn Cole. The series airs Tuesdays at 9/8c.

TNT has renewed its surging nail salon-centric crime series, Claws, for Season 3

Claws Season 3 is officially on the way at TNT.

Claws debuted back on May 25, 2017 to 1 million viewers, kicking off a 10-episode inaugural season that managed to achieve an increase in viewership episode-to-episode, culminating with 1.57 million for the finale. The series proved the loyalty of its fanbase in Season 2, which launched on June 10, 2018 to 1.3 million viewers, maintaining a 1.2 million overall average as of this writing. Additionally, the series appears to be gaining other-media momentum, with its digital viewership reportedly doubled year-over-year, with substantial social media growth on Twitter and Facebook.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like we'll be seeing a second season renewal for Red Widow. The show's ratings were poor at the start -- debuting to a 1.5 demo rating with 7.13 million viewers -- and have gotten a lot worse as the weeks have worn on.

ABC‘s slate of new shows for fall has a strange flavor to it, and it’s going to be a bumpy ride. The network has about as many new shows as returning ones (if you count all the midseasons), and a good percentage of the returning offerings are a year old or less, making this look a bit like a rebuilding year.

Not only is it a rebuilding year, but it’s the year of bringing back every actor and actress who ever had a decent run on a show before. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a network’s new season slate that was so crammed with people returning from something else. If you can’t make it good, I suppose, make sure viewers recognize the faces.

Exclusive: Actor-comedian-singer Charles Esten (Enlightened) is set to co-star in ABC’s drama pilot Nashville. Written by Callie Khouri, directed by R.J. Cutler and produced by Lionsgate and ABC Studios, Nashville is described as a family soap about love, country music, family, politics and sex, all set against the backdrop of the Nashville music scene. It centers on 40-year-old Nashville fading superstar Rayna James (Connie Britton) whose label requires her to team up with teen sensation Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere) on tour–or else face the loss of her own tour and the label’s promotion of her latest record, whose sales have been underwhelming. Esten, repped by Stone Manners Salners, will play Deacon, songwriter, lead guitar player, and Rayna’s former lover. Suleka Mathew (Hawthorne) and Jaime Ray Newman have been added to the cast of ABC’s drama pilot Penoza, written and executive produced by Twilight scribe Melissa Rosenberg.

Grimm's ratings dropped a little this week, but the show still won the 18-49 demo in its timeslot, finishing ahead of CSI: NY, Fringe and Supernatural, and rising by a full frakking ratings point (1.8) after Chuck (0.8). Wake up, Chuck.

Chicago – The popular cable TV series “HawthoRNe” throws down a dramatic Season 3 premiere, featuring the star talents of Jada Pinkett Smith and a great supporting cast. The medical series returns on TNT Network on June 14th.

This is a “throw the kitchen sink at it” premiere, chock full of surprises, soap operatic turns and strong performances from a well seasoned cast. Jada Pinkett Smith is the rock solid centerpiece as Christina Hawthorne, Chief Nursing Officer at an action-packed hospital. The series continues its focus on the relationships within the ensemble, including the romance between Christina and Dr. Tom Wakefield (Michael Vartan).

At the end of the second season, Christina finds out she is pregnant by Dr. Tom, and the third chapter opens with their nuptials. In the context of all medical dramas, there is an accident nearby that interrupts the vows, but the team is there to take care of the situation.
