Modern horror visionary, Robert Eggers is on a roll. Not only did Focus Features just announce Eggers' next project, Werwulf, but now a rumor about another exciting project for the Nosferatu director is gaining even more traction. While Focus Features might want to keep the star director to itself, it looks like it'll have to share pretty soon.

According to Deadline, Eggers has closed a deal with TriStar Pictures to write and direct a new Labyrinth story, a rumored sequel to the Jim Henson 1986 musical film featuring David Bowie in the role of a lifetime. Reportedly, Eggers is writing the script for the Labyrinth sequel with his The Northman and Werwulf partner, Sjón, while Chris and Eleanor Columbus will produce with Lisa Henson and executive producer Brian Henson, which makes for a confidence-boosting team behind the rumored project.

On Wednesday, it was announced that Eggers was teaming back up with Focus Features to direct Werwulf, a werewolf story. Meanwhile, he was also asked by ComicBook about the rumors that he was setting up a Labyrinth film. Eggers did not outright deny the rumors, nothing that he has a "ton of things in development." This might even suggest that there's some truth to the reports, but that the reboot is just one of multiple potential projects Eggers has his sights on. The director then clarified that, after Nosferatu, he wanted to tell an "original" story for his next film.

The 35th Anniversary screening of Jim Henson's Labyrinth will be preceded by a brief featurette entitled "The Henson Legacy." The studios brought on Guardians of the Galaxy writer Nicole Perlman to write the script, although no story details were given at that time. Over the weekend, the screenwriter took to her Twitter page to clear the air on this new version of Labyrinth, which she says is not a reboot, but rather a "continuation." However, a new story from Entertainment Weekly released shortly after that first news claims that the Labyrinth sequel is not actually in active development.

A source for The Jim Henson Company says that The Dark Crystal sequel and the Fraggle Rock: The Movie are currently being worked on, but there are no plans to, "reboot, revive, or make a sequel" to Labyrinth any time soon. The source described the "legacy title" as something that surfaces during most meetings, but nothing is currently in the works, despite Variety's contrasting report.

Christopher Malcolm has died, aged 67.

The Scottish actor was perhaps best known for playing the original Brad Majors in the original stage production of The Rocky Horror Show.

His death was confirmed by his daughter Morgan Lloyd Malcolm, who tweeted: "Today the world lost a beautiful, brilliant man."

She added that he "left peacefully and with dignity. He will always be my hero."

On television, his most famous role was Saffy's gay father Justin in Absolutely Fabulous. He made memorable appearances in shows including Only Fools and Horses, Lovejoy and The Comic Strip Presents.

He also had roles in several movies, including The Empire Strikes Back, Labyrinth and Highlander.

Malcolm played Brad Majors in The Rocky Horror Show from 1974, and co-produced the 1990 West End revival.

He later took control of producing the subsequent productions of the Richard O'Brien musical.

Now Forbes is reporting that personal navigation companies are afraid that Google will begin making its own Pnd software, undercutting the market's current leaders. The UK's Absolutely Fabulous TV show has been seen throughout the world and remains very popular with adults of all ages. There have been several attempts at recreating the bawdy series in the Us but the projects have all ended up stalling. Now, it looks like the time may actually be right.

First airing from 1992 to 1996, Absolutely Fabulous centers around Edina Monsoon (Jennifer Saunders) and Patsy Stone (Joanna Lumley), a pair of immature, chain-smoking, substance-abusing, fashion-obsessed ladies of London. Edina's daughter, "Saffy" (Julia Sawalha), doesn't approve of the excesses which provides plenty of conflict. June Whitfield plays Edna's good-natured mother and Jane Horrocks plays Bubble, Edna's inept personal assistant. Others in the cast include Helen Lederer, Harriet Thorpe, Naoko Mori, Christopher Malcolm, Christopher Ryan, and Mo Gaffney. New episodes of Fabulous began running in 2001.

Fox has recently announced plans to create a Us version of Fabulous for the Fall 2009 schedule.
