The premiere of the newly remastered version of Under The Western Stars, featuring Roy Rogers in his first starring role, will be followed by a panel discussion moderated by Verdugo Post Producer, Steve Latshaw, and will feature Rogers’ daughter Cheryl Rogers-Barnett along with film notable restoration and preservation experts. The panel will provide a real behind the curtain view of preserving Under Western Stars, other films like it and the growing challenges faced as films age and formats evolve. First-time feature director Patrick Picard brings a fresh take to one of the best-known stories from the master of mystery and the macabre, Edgar Allan Poe, The Fall of the House of Usher, in his new slow-burner horror-thriller The Bloodhound, a hauntingly atmospheric tale described by The Hollywood News as “an impressively stylish and intellectual debut”.

Francis, a dispossessed young man, is summoned to the secluded home of his wealthy childhood friend, Jp Luret, who is suffering from a mysterious affliction. Upon his arrival, Francis realizes that Jp and his ethereal twin sister Vivian are the sole surviving members of the privileged Luret family, whose legacy has been one of depression and self-destruction, and the only occupants of their family estate.

James Best, an actor best known for his role as Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane on the original Dukes of Hazzard, has passed away. He was 88. Best died in hospice after a brief illness of complications from pneumonia, his longtime friend and Hollywood colleague Steve Latshaw told the Charlotte Observer. The Kentucky-born star most memorably portrayed Sheriff Coltrane on The Dukes of Hazzard TV series from 1985 to 1989. He would reprise the role again in 1997 for The Dukes of Hazzard: Reunion, a TV movie, and even voiced the character in a 2004 video game. Following previous announcements of their film lineup, the Fantasia International Film Festival has released their full lineup of movies to be shown at the 18th Annual festival, starting July 17.

New additions to the lineup include 2014 Cannes Selection When Animals Dream, directed by Jonas Alexander Amby and the return of Fantasia’s showcase of animated films, Axis.

Tickets for the festival go on sale starting July 16, and the festival runs through August 5.

There’s the brand new poster and trailer for the Steve Latshaw’s long, long-anticipated sequel to 1959 Ray Kellogg-directed B movie The Killer Shrews, Return of the Killer Shrews.

The film features original star James Best, as well as John Schneider (The Dukes of Hazzard), Jennifer Lyons (The Amazing Spider-Man), Jason-Shane Scott (Starship Troopers 2), James Best (The Killer Shrews), Rick Hurst, Sean Flynn and special guest Bruce Davison (X-Men).

The story was penned by Patrick Moran, Steve Latshaw and James Best, respectively.

Ray Kelllogg’s 1959 schlocker The Killer Shrews is probably best remembered for the laughable titular beasts, actually dogs “dressed” as shrews, but has gone on to b-movie infamy over time via countless video releases and a hilarious Mystery Science Theater 3000 roast. In this day and age, where years between sequels is hardly a concern (notably on follow-ups to Hg Lewis films, for some reason: 41 years between Lewis’ Two Thousand Maniacs (’64) and Tim Sullivan’s 2001 Maniacs (’05); and 39 years between his Blood Feast (’63) and its follow-up Blood Feast 2 (’02), but these are just two examples), it is no surprise that filmmaker Steve Latshaw would give new life to the cult of Shrew with Return Of The Killer Shrews.

It’s been a while since we’ve heard much from the production of Return of the Killer Shrews (here), a sequel nearly 50 years in the making to the cult “classic” from 1959. But today we got a new poster, some new casting news, and the first pic from the set. Check it out!

Certainly, this film will have better production values compared to the ultra-cheapie original film. The cast is interesting: John Schneider (ex-Duke of Hazzard and Clark Kent’s father in Smallville), Sean Flynn (grandson of Errol Flynn), Jennifer Lyons (CBS’ Desperate Housewives) and Bruce Davison (X-Men and Willard), who will compliment James Barr, who starred in the original Killer Shrews.

In case you wanted it, a sequel to 1959's The Killer Shrews (not one of the decade's best) is underway with director Steve Latshaw and stars James Best (star of the original), John Schneider and Jennifer Lyons. The '59 film found a group of folks on an island with the titular beasts. This time Best's ship captain is hired by a reality crew to return to the island and...you guessed it, the shrews attack once again. There's a much longer synopsis right here , but you get the idea. Dolph Lundgren may have been inspired to write his new direct-to-dvd film, "Command Performace," by events in Moscow, but he had to move the production down to Bulgaria, given its modern terrorism subject matter. The veteran action hero, who directed, stars and co-wrote (with Steve Latshaw) the movie, couldn't find a way to film it all in Russia, but he still wants to release it in the country where it all began.

"I got the idea from a concert that Madonna gave for [former] Russian President Vladimir Putin," Lundgren told MTV News. Like the pop star in "Command Performance," Madonna gave an exclusive concert in 2006 for Putin and his daughters.

In the film, however, Lundgren plays a drummer in the band who must take on a group of terrorists who invade the event and turn it into a hostage situation, taking the Premier and singer at gunpoint. Such a story proved...
