The adventures of René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo’s potion-supping Gaul creation Asterix and his friends are well loved, since their debut on the pages of Pilote magazine in 1959, all the way up until this new animated feature based on the enduring madcap French creation. In the 60 year history of the series, there have been a plethora of internationally made motion pictures based on the stories and characters, including 4 live-action outings starring Gérard Depardieu and 10 animated films. This latest one, The Secret of the Magic Potion, being released both in cinemas and on Sky Cinema, is hardly the standard barer for all Asterix films but is a fun family flick all the same.
The film centres more on druid Getafix (John Innes), who is faced with finding a replacement after age may be catching up with him. Accompanying him on this important quest are Asterix (Ken Kramer) and Obelix (C. Ernst Harth...

Clearly not thinking before acting, 50 Cent videotaped a janitor at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport and accused him of being under the influence of drugs.
However, the man in question, 19-year-old Andrew Farrell, actually suffers from autism and Asperger’s syndrome and was experiencing severe social anxiety as Fiddy approached him.
As a result, Farrell’s stepfather Ken Kramer has contacted a lawyer and they’re considering filing a lawsuit, unless 50 Cent agrees to a face-to-face apology and a $1 million donation to Andrew’s GoFundMe page.

Samuel Goldwyn Films has acquired worldwide rights (excluding Canada) to Mark Sawers’ No Men Beyond This Point and is planning a 2016 release for the sci-fi comedy.
Recently screened in the Vanguard section of the Toronto festival, the film is set in a world where women no longer need men in order to reproduce and are no longer giving birth to male babies, leaving the male population on the verge of extinction.
Sawers wrote and directed, with Patrick Gilmore, Kristine Cofsky, Tara Pratt, Cameron McDonald, Rekha Sharma, Ken Kramer, Morgan Taylor Campbell and Mary Black starring. Kaleena Kiff and Galen Fletcher produced.
Peter Goldwyn of Samuel Goldwyn Films said: “Mark has a truly original voice and made a film that is both smart and funny – and is also an incredibly interesting take on gender politics. I’m excited to have the opportunity to release it and imagine we will have a lot of fun on this campaign.”

Approximately four months ago, X-Files fans everywhere collectively freaked out as Fox announced its plan for a six-episode revival of the series, more than a decade after the show had ended. An actual UFO sighting could doubtfully cause such an effect from hardcore aficionados who have drooled over Mulder’s deadpan dark humor and Scully’s magnificent eye rolls for years. Then on July 7, Fox released a trailer for the re-airing of the series and called for an X-Files marathon challenge where participants watch an episode per day, as the revival was only 201 days away. Sound on Sight will be joining in the nostalgic fun, posting weekly articles on each season’s mythology, standalone titles, character development, and finally, a spotlight on a favorite episode.
Created by Chris Carter, the first episode of The X-Files aired on September 10, 1993. For each season, we will be dividing titles into those that follow...
