The Lion King fans are in for the time of their lives when February 7 arrives. Disney has announced that a new concert special, The Lion King at the Hollywood Bowl, celebrating the legacy of its Academy Award-winning animated classic, is coming to Disney+ on that date.

Per Deadline, the Hollywood Bowl will be transformed into the Pride Lands for the immersive concert that will honor The Lion King's 30th anniversary. Unfortunately, there are several great TV show characters whose exits are far more anticlimactic than they deserve. It’s not unusual for a character to depart mid-way through a show’s run, and many of the best TV shows of all time feature an exit from one of their most beloved figures. However, not all of these storylines are necessarily well written, or even make any sense.

There are plenty of examples of TV show exits that are out of character, but they are still dramatic and interesting enough to keep audiences engaged. Despite its low review scores, Baby's Day Out had potential with its cast, comedy/jeopardy mix, and groundbreaking special effects.

The director of Baby's Day Out, the 1994 family film with one of the cutest babies in history, has gone on record about the film's failure at the box office. Apparently, it was the fault of another youngster, albeit a furrier one, that proved to be one of the biggest movies of the decade.

The Lion King was released in direct competition with Baby's Day Out, and while the Patrick Read Johnson-directed movie struggled to even make back its budget, Disney's "Hamlet with lions" movie would go on to be considered one of the greatest animated movies of all time.

For thirty years, the kingdom of Pride Rock has entertained and amazed audiences young and old with tales of growth, courage, responsibility, and, of course, family. Despite being targeted at kids, Disney’s 1994 classic The Lion King deals with some heavy and intense subjects. Still, there are some outstanding lessons to be learned from the tale about remembering your roots, finding yourself, and taking on responsibilities. There’s also the very subtle way in which the movie conveys the progress of its protagonist. Early in the movie when Simba (Matthew Broderick) and Nala (Moira Kelly) are getting harassed by hyenas, Simba tries to let out a roar to scare them off. But he’s still a young cub, and his roar inspires more exclamations of "aw!" than exclamations of terror. It is then that his father Mufasa (James Earl Jones) comes to their rescue with his thunderous roar, fighting off the hyenas.

David Lynch is a director who has always, in a way, been ahead of the curve. His vision throughout both his film and television projects is uncompromising, and even those that had received mixed reception during their release are often warmly regarded today (at least by Lynch fans).

Outlyer Entertainment, the differently abled entertainment business, is ready to make waves. The company – which forms part of The Outlyer Group, founded by singer and actor Emmanuel Kelly and Tim Lucas Allen in 2022 – is aiming to create an industry accreditation for film productions with the aim of achieving a new industry standard for the minimum level of differently abled cast and crew that are hired per production.

Kelly, who will perform at the Locarno Festival, will join its Sunday panel on Disability and Inclusion in the Audiovisual Industry, where he will set out in more detail the standard. The discussion, moderated by Danielle Turkov and also live streamed on the Festival website, will discuss the experiences of those working in the audiovisual industry with what is generally regarded as a disability, and explore new, enriching possibilities of inclusion.
